>Paleontologists found multiple complete fossilized specimens of large Cretaceous shark Ptychodus in MexicoANOTHER Cretaceous shark? Otodusbros, i'm tired of this. After all these years, why does they still haven't found a single complete specimen of any shark in the genus Otodus? They were extremely common, widespread and lived for millions of years - way longer than any of these shitty Cretaceous sharks that were cucked by mosasaurs. I can't stand these oversized great white sharks megalodon paleoart anymore.
>>4780847A shark is a shark, theyre all pretty much the same proportionally speaking. You're not gonna have a retarded Dunkleosteus situation where they suddenly claim Megalodon was like 5 meters long for some reason.
>>4780884>theyre all pretty much the same proportionally speakingIncluding threshers and sawsharks?
>>4781079>shark but long tail>shark but long nose
>>4780847>get pinned as giga nurse shark for years>even sometimes get given fin spines for some reason>really was a sleek fucker going around smashing turtles and ammonitesAnd people say science ruins old shit. This is way better.
>>4781268Nobody who actually says that knows what they're talking about though. People used to say that dinosaurs were so dumb and stupid that they went extinct because the little mammal rats were too much for them. They also used to say that shit like terror birds were so shit at hunting that they could only eat small animals the size of rabbits.
>>4781274>People used to say that dinosaurs were so dumb and stupid that they went extinct because the little mammal rats were too much for themThat's true though. Dinosaurs were extremely stupid and there's evidence they frequently died of starvation, which is why infant cannibalism was so common.
>>4781303Dinobros… not like this…
>>4781108>you >blind but small brain
>>4781303Dinobros... our answer?
>>4781079Exceptions to the rule
>>4781824Not to engage
>>4781303Were you there? No. Also some theropods today are hella smart so there probably were some smart dinosaurs too. Most importantly mammals back then sure as fuck weren't any smarter.
>>4781903Dinosaurs had such small brains they needed a second brain in lower spine in order to control such a large body. The idea that theropods were intelligent and practiced pack hunting is a myth created by Steven Spielberg for his movies. The reality was non-Avian Dinosaurs went extinct because they had no capacity to find food for themselves when it wasn't right in front of them, which left them helpless during the fallout from the meteor.
>>4781934nigga the fuck are you talking about
>>4781934Wow. That does make them look kind of wimpy in retrospect.
>>4781934>The reality was non-Avian Dinosaurs went extinct because they had no capacity to find food for themselves when it wasn't right in front of themKeep seething furryfag, life has never been so versatile as it was during the Mesozoic period. Many vibrant life-forms that took much more ecological niches than any life-form could do today. Archosaurs and reptiles in general were extremely competitive for what it took to be able to survive and reproduce in a much more dangerous ecosystem. That's why mammals remained badger sized at best, reptiles took the large herbivore and apex predator niches first (in land, sea, lakes and skies alike). They were better at adapting in the harsh environmental conditions during the Triassic period which paved the way for 186 millions years of Archosaur dominance. What did mammals in comparison during the Cenozoic period when Dinosaurs left their former ecological niches? Give path to humans messing with nature resulting in utter mammalian self-destruction?
>>4782502that doesn't stop them from being dumb as fucktheir advantage was they didn't need intelligence in a period so wealthy in life. they just needed efficient, prolific reproduction and a good metabolism. and their respiration is highly efficient.
>>4782508>they just needed efficient, prolific reproduction and a good metabolism. and their respiration is highly efficient. And so does pic-related, still more intelligent than most mammals alive today despite a smaller brain case.
