Why do we find carnivores more aesthetic in general? Yeah some of you may prefer otherwise but the overwhelming majority of humans have had a hard on for predators since recorded history.

>Why do stupid/dull people like reality television and rap?
Trying to understand why something is popular is an exercise in emulating retardation. You can try but it's more chaotic and elusive than you think.

we like ourselves, so we like things more like us than things that arent like us.

Then why are cats and dogs more popular than the other great apes?
>>
>>4789534
Because great apes don't make good pets.

You should have said that great apes don't make great pets.

>Why does a species like things that are more like itself
Perhaps because it's a fine line to tread before you go full xi li wong and have no empathy for a toddler dying in the middle of the road because they're from a different family. Better to have a little too much empathy than not enough, and as a bonus, dogs help with food security and security in general, ferrets are excellent pest eliminators, and cats are cool home decor and make good stress relief for children and women.

Because the other great apes are incidental omnivores at best with huge digestive tracts, tiny brains, and big jaw muscles for eating twigs. Also they symbolize degeneration from the state of humanity to a lesser/prior form.

Like others have said, they remind us of ourselves and it feels good to project onto badass things. We may be the apex predators and capable of driving other species to extinction if we really want to via teamwork, technology, etc. but it feels good to observe something so primal and effective doing its thing the only way it knows how

Carnivores usually have softer, more visually appealing fur than herbivores, and their waste managing instincts are easier for us to work with in a direct cohabitation context. Think of the herbivores we do keep as pets, such as rabbits and other rodents. We've bred them as offshoots of the populations we raised as food sources to have softer, fancier looking fur. Even horses, the herbivores we have the longest standing of strong emotional bonds with, would not be treated as companions living in the home even if they were on the same scale as dogs or cats.
