Back in the late 1960s there was a United states military special operations group that specialized in guerilla warfare. One of the groups units was compromised of only a handful of men that all had specialized skills. Everything from pilot training, practical mechanical engineering, hand to hand combat, extensive use of weapons, sabotage, and even impersonation. A few years after a special mission, carried out by the unit, went catastrophically bad and exposed parts of the US military the entire group was sentenced to prison. This was around 1972 or something like that. Anyway, shortly after being incarcerated, all of the men went missing. They literally all vanished from a maximum security prison. Around the time of their disappearance, the city of Los Angeles started seeing pockets of local crime syndicates being dismantled by unknown forces. The tactics that were being used were eerily similar to those used by the unit that had just vanished from prison. The theory here is that the unit escaped prison and used the Los Angeles underground as a base of operations. People would seek out help by asking around and eventually this group would agree. Even today, still wanted by the government they survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have a problem, if no one else can help, and if you can find them....maybe you can hire The A-Team.

I don't think Jack the Ripper was real. The two canonical letters, the Dear Boss and From Hell letters, were clearly written by two different people and other than the fact that they were all prostitutes who were stabbed to death, there isn't much connecting the five murders. Also, no they didn't figure out who it was using DNA evidence recently. They found DNA on a scarf of one of the victims matching the DNA of the descendants of one of the suspects. So maybe a connection to that one, but not the other 4.
