Anyone using the site can see that, can 'feel' that. We don't know how many there are, but the activity data doesn't support those numbers and the 'dead' feeling you often get in this site doesn't support those numbers (subjective as it is).So the although 1.36 billion active monthly users for Reddit might be bullshit, a claim of being 60x bigger doesn't seem unrealistic to me because the available data for 4chan that is real data (activity) is microscopic and using the two sites 'feels' like that could be accurate.
