That's not really how hacking works... One would need to obtain your IP before they could do anything and it's not publicly shown when you post here. The site itself has been hardened very well over years to prevent anon users from getting the IP of others.

One trick to do this is to get the user to click an external link that goes to a ip tracker or a webserver they have access to the logs(kek) on.

From there, once they have your IP there are a number of things one could do, provided you don't have some form of modern router with a firewall or vulnerable applications listening on ports inbound upnp'ed through the firewall, such as for Steam or a torrent handler.

I know how to "hack" and work in network security, but don't have like some kind of magical image that once you click on it will root your box or something... It has it's limitations and isn't quite like the movies.

You want to learn to hack, check our Kali linux and Metasploit. That's a good starting point.
