When I took a nap this evening I had a super vivid dream about a 3d (hentai maybe?) game set in the star gate universe even though Im pretty sure I’ve never watched a piece of media set in the star gate universe. Anyway the main character was some sexy black lady in an Egyptian costume and flew a pyramid spaceship that looked vaguely like pic related.
I also discovered an Easter egg that an alien saucer spaceship was hiding in my backyard.
Why was big pharma keeping these dreams from me?

hell yeah, get off that gross shit!!! meds are there to sedate you and surpress....i've been off my meds for about 3 years now and i feel so much better than before but it took being on them to realize that

as for dreams, what i've been doing is when i first wake up i use voice to text on my phone in the notes app to get all the details written down somewhere
now i can remember my dreams pretty well and recalling details is so much easier
dreams are so satisfying and im so glad to have them again

fucking cool dream wish i had that

i had a dream a few days ago
i was in a microsoft skyscraper for some sort of "challenge" with a couple dozen other people, it was empty other than that
we were supposed to stay there for a few nights
i kept trying to leave on the first night but this iranian guy was following me through the elevators & staircases, eventually i was able to sneak out though
i walked to a bustling restaurant, i guess it was dinnertime/evening, it was dark out
that's all i remember really

last cool dream i had involved some crazy mirrors edge type architecture, i was on the top of an infeasibly tall building

My mom also said I do weights at the gym to fast, she says it’s like a “vampire fuck” when I asked her about it she said that vampires fuck really fast because the average vampire sex scene in the show “true blood” is 15 to 30 seconds long.

veri good advice
doing that consistently can increase the likelihood of lucid dreams as well

also yeah based getting off the meds, you and melonade :D
my mom spent like a year or two tapering off xanax, she said it was extremely difficult

I’ve been thinking about dropping my dosage to 15 mg and eventually weening myself off them. All my dreams are kinda like that I just usually don’t remember them cuz of the SSIRs.

>>24249896
Yeah, I find I have a lot of dreams where I’m in tall buildings. One that keeps reoccurring is this abandoned hotel with a restaurant at the top level (sometimes bottom). That one’s always kinda creepy and very liminal space feeling.
Also seem to have dreams about aliens a lot.

cold turkey is tough, i tapered some but was pretty rapid....gosh my life is so much better now without it
>All my dreams are kinda like that
you're fortunate i would say, not everyone gets epic scifi tales
most of mine are also epically scifi but mostly about some sort of apocalypse thats happening and more like an active nightmare
thats been happening for a long time, even before the meds so im kinda used to it
>Also seem to have dreams about aliens a lot.
here is one i posted on bant a while ago if you're interested

extremely ominous
usually when unsettling things happen in my dreams, my heart rate increases enough that i wake up pretty quickly
i also tend to remember those dreams more clearly, along with ones with awe-inspiring things

ur dream reminded me of a vaguely similar one
there wasn't much of a narrative to it that i could remember, but it was apocalyptic
there were anvil clouds but like way way taller than they should be
chunks of buildings/rubble were being pulled upwards into the storm
i was standing near a shore looking at this city being destroyed a couple miles away
there weren't many people left, either it was evacuated or something else
i turned to the only other person standing at this vantage point, he was black and he had a briefcase
he had a look on his face i wish i could describe, it wasn't like panic but something else
he said something in a foreign language and then i woke up, i think his face and the tone he was speaking in are what woke me up at that point, it got to me somehow
writing really badly rn sorry
>>
purple lightning in the storm as well, also way higher in the atmosphere than anything should've been

what was the gameplay like?

I had a lot of issues, and I used to take medication for them, but I stopped medication completely and overcame my problems on my own. I thought I had depression for years but it turns out I probably wasn't really depressed.

But I did suffer from intense emotional pain, but I learned things like learning how to deal with emotions on my own.

The vivid exploration dreams are always like a a FPS walking simulator but actually there. Sometimes I see world in a freecam mode but those are rarer. Rarely does it feel like an actual game where you’re picking up items and doing quests and stuff but I have had those too. Sometimes there are even open-world map screen I can access.
Here are some frequently reoccurring locations in my dreams:
>A northern polar Arctic research station/tourist destination, sometimes both at the same time for some reason.
>A Las Vegas style city, looks kinda like GTA San Andreas and Fallout: New Vegas.
Desert region/desert planet with lots of mines, caves, and ancient tombs with occasional sandstorms.
>A small mountain town in America, looks vaguely like Montrose Colorado but much, much smaller.
>A large spaceship made of industrial brown steel, kinda looks like something out of Firefly or the Riddick movies.
>A large castle-like structure somewhere on the east coast, looks like some of the old forts in New England.
>An open-world video game island chain like something out of the Just Cause or Farcry games. Sometimes it’s just one island that looks like a horseshoe and sometimes it’s a lot more.
>Open grassy farmland intermixed with rolling hills and light forests. Looks like something out of eastern Colorado or Montana.
>A Minecraft-like world with deep underground crevasses that seem to go on forever
>A three-story house that sometimes is like four stories and also includes a wearhouse and/or is connected to a small co-op mall my family used to own. Sometimes the co-op mall is separate.
>Random fallout themed destroyed cityscapes.
It’s probably more but that’s all I can think of right now.

:o
i've never had either of those that i can remember

i once got mauled by a tiger near a railroad in the woods, it kinda switched to freecam mode as i was dying, then i woke up

>It’s probably more but that’s all I can think of right now.
pretty cool locations
i need to rewatch the riddick movies

i went into a maintenance area of the luxor hotel once, irl, it was very disorienting
diagonally arranged cubes of metal support structure with steep stairs between them, iirc

one dream location i keep thinking about was this strange, elaborate structure of connected pools in a big glass pyramid club/resort thing
it was vaguely like a waterpark but there were several bars, you could walk long distances through the pools to get to different areas
fucking weird
it looked really cool at night

fairly calm and not too many people

yeah nice these are the best kinda dreams and you can lookup tips on how to recall, stay in dreamstate, or not jarr yourself from them so you can get back into it or remain dreaming if you end up reaching lucidity
a lot of is is self talk but some of it is reaction (or no reaction), like if you ever become lucid its very instinctual to force something to happen rather than flowing with whatever IS happening and then guiding it to what you want to be doing IE flying
flying dreams are the absolute most kino shit ever and they're always a bit different
my favorite is when i can reach the clouds and zip around near the surface and duck/weave between them....havent had one in a while though :(

>a lot of is is self talk but some of it is reaction (or no reaction), like if you ever become lucid its very instinctual to force something to happen rather than flowing with whatever IS happening and then guiding it to what you want to be doing IE flying
yeees

i've had a few periods where i tried to lucid dream, it only worked once or twice
the very delicate balance between awake & normal dream was annoying for me
if you get too excited or lucid, or you try to control the dream too much, it gets less vivid and you risk waking up
but if you let go too much you can stop being lucid

i learned a few techniques but not all the ones you mentioned, might have to look into those
i didn't really have the discipline to do much more than WBTB and keeping a dream journal lol
it's probably worth doing, though
>flying dreams are the absolute most kino shit ever and they're always a bit different
>my favorite is when i can reach the clouds and zip around near the surface and duck/weave between them....havent had one in a while though :(
:o
usually in my dreams i have to concentrate really hard in order to fly, the few dreams i remember
could maybe get to a point where it doesn't take that much focus though, somehow

the trick to lucid dreaming is noticing, you gotta notice 'that aint right', like i've had dreams where i should be in pain from a massive wound, cant talk, having trouble with movement...something SOMETHING isnt right and once i notice thats when i'm able to achieve lucidity
lucid guides will tell you to check often for things that are out of place and 'that aint right' has worked for me, im sure everyone is a bit different
>techniques
one of the most important ones is to spend 5 minutes before you fall asleep TELLING yourself you will remember your dreams and you will look for signs
you can also do this throughout the day to help train your mind too

ah ye
i can't remember how often this has worked for me, but i remember they mentioned it a lot in the subreddits i looked at
people train themselves to reality check like every 5 minutes so that it's a habit which carries over into their dreams, seemed like a good strategy but i didn't have the patience xd
maybe should though
>lucid guides will tell you to check often for things that are out of place and 'that aint right' has worked for me, im sure everyone is a bit different
perhaps

i honestly can't remember which techniques worked the best for me and which didn't, which is annoying
i know it worked once or twice at least, seems like the techniques did something
or maybe just consciously focusing on dreams day after day made them more likely

>one of the most important ones is to spend 5 minutes before you fall asleep TELLING yourself you will remember your dreams and you will look for signs
>you can also do this throughout the day to help train your mind too
