How do i know when a new thread should be made? They just deleted the previous one with no warning.
Previous >>24266564>>24341699I don't have a simple answer so I will explain how 4chan works.The numbers near the top right #/#/# show thread statistics.How many replies, how many images, and which board page the thread is on.When a thread is made it starts on page 1 and as new threads get made they push the old threads down, eventually to board page 2.When people post in a thread (without the "sage" option), it brings the thread back to the top as if it was new.When a thread reaches the last slot on the last page and someone creates a new thread, the least active thread gets deleted to make room for the new one.Threads have a "bump limit" (different limit per board) so even if people keep posting in it, the thread will sink and eventually get deleted.Typically people make a new thread when the image limit is reached so new images can be posted or when the bump limit is reached and the thread is close to the last page. But there is no hard rule or pattern.Bump and image limits are different per board. And so is the page count.The numbers become italic when the limit is reached.I forget the bump limit for bant but we have 10 pages and 150 files per thread.Thank you for reading my blog.
