what would yall do if i leaked my ip?
>>
Someone actually came on here a few months ago talking about how they got banned for doxxing themselves for posting their own IP. Apparently the doxxing rule applies to even doxxing yourself
>>
I'd find your address and send you a care package and a hand written letter.
>>
You're a Dane so I'd probably try to talk to you because I have EU citizenship and want to move there.

The funny thing is that there actually isn't much you can do with just an IP address. Especially because it's your ISP that owns it and not you, they just lease it to you, that's all. So you can't do a WhoIs lookup and find a bunch of info about that anon, you'll just find info about their ISP instead. I guess you could try to DDoS them once you know their IP address, but that's really about it.

yeah ik, you'd find out he's from Copenhagen or Aarhus then that's it.

I prob more just want to talk to Danes and things.
>>
>>24518731
yeah pretty much. aussie ips are funny since they don't show your actual pinpoint address, but just the nearest major population centre and sometimes just the state capital. which or me is over a thousand kilometres away.

What would y'all do if niggers tongued my anus?

You could also port scan and try to find vulnerabilities to exploit in any programs behind open ports
>>
>>24518662
the easiest way to find out is to do it anon

ofc do a nmap stealth scan and service enumeration to see whats good
there is a high liklihood it wont find anything unless you've specifically opened some services to internet for some silly reason

It's the same here. If you do a WhoIs lookup on pretty much any Kiwi IP address, they almost always come back as being based in Auckland, since that's where most New Zealand ISP's have their headquarters located.

That's true, you certainly could do that. That's why you always want to make sure that your router has the latest firmware installed, to at least mitigate any potential problems.

Pro-tip: You can mitigate attacks from port scanners by putting a 2nd "proxy" router in between all of your devices and the router that your ISP issues you. Pic related. The routers that your ISP issues you are usually cheap "made in china" rubbish that never receive firmware updates from the manufacturer. You can hide all of your devices behind another router of your choosing, without having to fuck around configuring your router to connect to your ISP.

This is more for self hosters but ideally you'd want a next-gen firewall as opposed to a second router between your main router/internal network. They have the ability to block vulnerability probes etc. One option is SophosXG which has a free home version. Just need a microPC with two NICs

I may be talking out of inexperience, but wouldn't that same subnet cause routing issues? Shouldn't you do one router subnet with 192.168.1.1 and the second with 192.168.2.1?
And would psSense work as the second router that is inside your home network?

never mind, i forgot that network traffic is differentiated between ingoing and outgoing

Good advice, thanks anon.
