>get a remote job
>have saved a ton of money on commuting and eating breakfast and lunch
>>
>>61522070
I desperately wish I could find another WFH job.
I used to have one and it was heaven. Naps during the day, watching movies while working, no commute, no fast food slop. I had it all.
They don't exist anymore.
>>
>>61522110
Why did you lose it?
Also, you are exactly why they're gone to begin with.
>>
>>61522114
My uncle had a comfy remote job at Brazzers but it ended after the funding for USAID was cut
>>
I quit my job when they made us go back to the office, unfortunately haven't found anything since. I hate the humiliation ritual.
>>
>>61522139
Good, Brazzers is satanic.
>>61522148
Why didn't you just keep it and look actively?
>>
>>61522070
Remote jobs are rare now
>>
>>61522070
Your social life takes a deep dive if you work from home.
It's a trap for people who wanna die.
>>
>>61522424
You only socialize at work? Lmao.
>>
my company put us to 2 days in office but there's rumors of increasing to 4

I can't do that shit bros wasting 4 hours of my day for no fucking reason at all
>>
>>61522448
Yes.
Your coworkers are your best friends.
>>
>>61522480
You should be in the office 5 days a week. You learn so much and also learn to function in a society without getting a nervous breakdown.
>>
>>61522503
Not for me. I have a life outside.
>>
>>61522480
It's fine if you can leave but I worked at a place that had hybrid remote for level 2s and then used level 1s as temp workers who did all the gruntwork, then hired their friends to level 2 while saying shit like "oh yeah if you work hard then one of the 9 level 1s will get promoted to level 2". Then I left. Fuck those cunts. What really pissed me off was the chipper attitude too. Muh team we're all buds so it's fine if we fuck you over right? Fuk em.
>>
>>61522070
>have remote job
>company realizes they can just hire someone living in another country half as much to do the job
>>
>>61522114
>why did you lose it
Idk but I’m guessing the sleeping in the middle of the day and watching movies may have contributed to it
>>
>>61522867
i wfh and make 150k/yr. i have two onshore direct reports, 1 onshore indirect report, and 2 offshore indirect reports. id kms if I had to work in person.
>>
>>61522899
What exactly do you do on those reports? And what's the different between on shore and off shore
>>
>>61522503
ngl this is sad

they are not your friends kek
>>
>>61523197
reports = subordinates. onshore are americans. offshore are indian shitskins in india that were forced on me.
>>
>>61522070
What remote jobs are there for 0 related work experience megaautists?
Asking for a friend.
>>
Seriously what is wrong with the latest generations of workers?
I'm 38, and I've never had a problem going to my 8 hour shift job, every weekday, for years.
What a bunch of babies you all are.
Can't even cook your own food to bring for lunch and feel it necessary to waste money on takeout/fast food if you have to go to work?
The hell?
>>
>>61523482
My entire presence makes people uncomfortable. Talking is a fucking struggle and it disgusts me to an extremely large degree seeing people share their entire week’s worth of experience with each other and expects the same from me.
Nigger all I do is play games when I come home. Fuck off.
It’s a violation of human rights to make people like me have to embarrass themselves trying to do normalfag shit like going to work and hecking talking to people and failing.
At least let me sit on a computer and whoever’s my manager can assume I’m not some gigaautistic freak.
>>
>>61523405
I have to work with our offshore India team and they're so incredibly incompetent it hurts. I even hop on a Zoom to show them exactly what I need to do and they still do it wrong.
It's literally clicking a couple of filters on a software and generate a report and they still do it wrong.
>>
>>61523532
So you pretend you're a victim of your made up "faulty presence" and "poor communication skills" for an excuse to not work as hard as other people. Got it.
First of all, there exist jobs without much or any communication involved, but then you'd have to do some physical work which I'm guessing you'll make another excuse for.
Secondly, you'll never get better at communication if you avoid it all the time.

Question: what makes you think you're special to be above doing things other people do?
>>
>>61523586
>you'll never get better at communication if you avoid it all the time
Well not everyone wants to. A lot of people are fine being more introverted and don't feel like bending over backwards to appease other people who don't understand that. Also not him but I have a skillset that puts me above the majority of workers, hence why I am able to maintain my above average paying wfh job and have found several others on the side over the years that I can do simultaneously.
>>
>>61523482
Commuting in a car costs thousands of dollars per year (and hundreds of hours - unpaid)
Renting a minimalist wooden box within 30 minutes of jobsville costs 10-25k per year

with a remote job, you don't have to worry about this shit. it's an immense difference in quality of life when you consider most full time jobs only pay 30k-40k after taxes
>>
>>61523790
Cost of living really is the problem. Can't save SHIT anymore.
>>
>>61523482
>>61523586
im 36 >>61522899. why dont you get a wfh job?

yeah i do. my year end raise will be 5% which brings me to $130k base. my bonus target is 15% which brings me to $150k overall comp.
>>
>>61522899
Awesome man, I genuinely hope you’re able to make it last and don’t get replaced by a foreign worker, unironically.
>>
>>61523790
It’s almost like they consider that as part of your compensation
>>
>>61523482
If you have chill bosses and coworkers with the same kind of humor it's perfect but unfortunately most jobs I had had toxic faggots who talk shit to the boss about you and generally retards
>>
>>61523718
I'm an introvert but I think I benefit from being in the office even if I hate it because it helps me keep my social skills from deteriorating.
>>
>>61522503
Anon I...
>>
>>61523538
>It's literally clicking a couple of filters on a software and generate a report and they still do it wrong.
Hahaha hilarious . My experience as well.
if they have to build a few classes in C#, they screw it up even further and you have to redo stuff.
>they take "encapsulation" they were taught in indian resume mill "schools" seriously
I kinda know why MS Windows and Google are so bad. It is so obvious.

>it is strange how indians sold this crap to boomers that they are geniuses
> and nobody found out or called their bluff.

In my new life of building my own software for my company, I never hire Indians, indians are IP range blocked on any freelancer sites.

accounting manager (no, i'm not jewish.)

4chan autist trolls will gaslight you and tell you they're not and that you can easily get one.
>>
>>61523419
None. You have to know someone with one, and that's rare. Your only hope is if you got one during covid, but even those are almost all RTO or hybrid now.
>>
>>61524941
>>61524919
Idk why this is so unbelievable? Maybe the other anon is European?

I make close to this much, WFH, have 0 direct reports (but might be getting two local onshore guys after a promotion soon)

Also I live in a low/medium cost of living area. I would expect better pay if I moved to a larger coastal city
>>
I work from home for Semiconductor company but I use a medical excuse with HR to earn the 'accommodation'
Look into your HR policies for this
>>
>>61525471
Because there's no way of verifying your attempt at a humble brag. STFU. No one is impressed by your job. In fact, they hate you for it.
>>
>>61525471
What job?
>>
I had a WFH job that turned hybrid so now I am in office 2 days a week.
To give an understanding of the innate sense of freedom WFH gives, you literally feel like Sundays are just another Saturday. A lot of the horror of working the next day is gone so you sleep like a baby. You get more rest and suddenly your breaks at work are more productive. You can cut vegentables on your breaks, you can mow the yard on lunch, and tossing a load of laundry in the Washer can be done in a second. You shut your laptop and can be flying out the door for funtime instead of getting home exhausted from the traffic.
I am currently in my comfy clothes. My hair feels better not having to wash it 5 days a week, my eyes feel better getting to lounge around in glasses instead of wearing contacts 24/7, and the workout equipment in the garage gives me quick and easy access to some exercise. A quick walk to the park on lunch helps keep me healthy from sitting in a chair all day too.
Life is good kings. Yea, I don't make enough money as I would like, but the benefits stack up in the quality of life department.
Big Con, however, is it can be extremely isolating. Meeting people will be more difficult as well if you hole up and play vidya all day. I actually prefer hybrid better than full remote.
>>
>>61522070
every single remote job i find has 4x/year "on sites", it's fucking bull shit
>>
>>61522867
everyone wins so I don't see why this is a bad thing. Outsourcing plus remote is the best combo.
>>
>>61526051
>4x/year
that's not bad. better than 52x to 260x a year. you could probably even take vacation during a few of them and get it down to like 1-2x a year.
>>
>>61526051
You're really not going to take a job because you have to fly in 4x a year?
Come on dude.
>>
>>61522503
>there are people who actually believe this
>>
>>61526114
>everyone wins
The company wins and I guess the remote worker halfway around the world wins. The employee who was full time remote and got replaced loses. Not sure how you missed that part
>>
>>61526426
You're talking to a pajeet.

How the fuck do you find these elusive wfh jobs?
>>
>>61526732
You don't. You steal pictures from other posts like >>61526693.

Ok.
>>
>>61526741
Cope

>>61526732
Luck that my company decided to not be dumb fucks and force return to office unilaterally for tech positions which have shown high efficiency working from home.
I also have 10 years of professional experience this isn't something I'd expect a 22 year old to be starting at.
>>
Seething on a business & finance baord because people make a good income is bizarre.
Would you rather the board be flooded with posts from people who live off government disability and don't wash their ass?
>>
>>61526761
In a sane society you'd be strung up and hung for making money for doing nothing. You have young people not being able to start families like their grandparents, then you have people like you. Hopefully your lazy ass gets sent back to the office. Either that or you get terminal cancer.
>>
>>61526761
I don't really care about these 100k+ jobs right now, I just want to get in the wfh hustle and not be wagecucking and travelling to work.
>>
>>61526848
then game the system once you have a decent white collar job
find a good reason to work from home and cry to HR
>>
>>61526848
Too fucking bad. If Yahweh the demiurge has determined you aren't evil or jewish enough to deserve a wfh job, then you won't get one. You have to have given your soul to the evil god that governs the universe in order to wfh.
>>
>>61523482
The quality of life I recieve in exchange for 50+ hours of my time is simply not worth it anymore. Cut out the 10+ hours commute and the exchange becomes more reasonable.
>>
>>61526855
What reason did you use???
>>
>>61525016
They absolutely do not lmao. If you ever brought up getting a raise because of the cost of commuting Becky from HR would be posting a job to replace you that afternoon
>>
>>61522503
This is bait of peerless quality
>>
>>61526814
Meds
>>61526848
Software is a way but the threats and barriers are:
>Cheap fuck companies who are waiting on their asses for AGI to replace ever needing another SWE again
>Overseas contractors, also related to cheap fuck companies

It's honestly a miserable environment to be starting in today. Even as soon as a couple years ago it was easy enough to break into.

I have a friend who works as a marketing analyst and is mostly WFH. Another in a project manager type role for a pharma company. The jobs exist... Though maybe not as easy to find as the dog days in COVID.

I think being open and willing to be at an office maybe 2-3 times per quarter opens up a lot more options than true 100% remote. So consider that too
>>
>>61525016
Dude no they don't.
>>
>>61526903
KYS gaslighter. If you were just a few years younger you'd be working at McDonalds with the rest of current CS graduates. You don't deserve a penny you've earned. Legitimately kill yourself.
>>
>>61526934
I didn't study CS. I did a boot camp.
Rage harder edgelord.
Oh wait is that a hint of projection I'm picking up? I'll take fries with that. Thanks wagie

Yes, I do. Try having valuable skills and an inability to be fired, I highly recommend it if you have the means.

Getting a raise because you chose to move 90 minutes away vs the reasonable expectation of having a 1hr commute or less as part of, albeit marginal, determining criteria of the job offer are two different things.
>Becky from HR would be posting a job to replace you that afternoon
Just say you’ve never had a job

If you have a job today, you are a staff member of this world and not a person.

>>61522110
Tell me why an employer would want this.

a remote job for 40k is quite literally better than an office job for 90k. it's practically the sole thing that matters

Look at your HR's disability definitions, and see if you can bullshit into any of the categories
