I am fully convinced that once Silver holds $120 for over a week, these little rinky dink, crusty boomer LCSs are going to be forced to close up shop. Nobody (except me) buys from them, and they already stopped buying from the public because they're under-capitalized as fuck. I've been thinking the next step is to sell to the big online dealers, but really the best thing to do is just hold.

https://simplyinvestasia.com/precious-metals/goldmans-top-precious-metals-trader-exits-bank/

(((Goldman Sachs Group Inc.’s head of precious metals trading Benjamin Binet-Laisne is leaving the bank, according to people familiar with the matter.)))

>Binet-Laisne’s departure underscores the challenge for banks in retaining bullion-market traders, as a storming precious metals rally leads hedge funds and trading houses to vie for talent.

>A senior figure in the market, Binet-Laisne has been with the bank for roughly a decade, according to his LinkedIn profile. Goldman is one of the larger banks in precious metals, and recently added Pranav Bhatia from StoneX Group Inc. to its trading desk.

>Goldman and Binet-Laisne declined to comment on the departure.

>Gold chalked up its best annual performance since 1979 last year, as retail and institutional investors piled in alongside central banks. A powerful combination of tailwinds — from falling interest rates to geopolitical tensions — pushed bullion to a record above $5,000 an ounce on Monday.

in my opinion, and my strategy, was built on my ability to get silver was easier to get than gold. so if i had the money to buy gold i simply bought gold.
it's paying off now, since i would need to save for two months for an ounce of gold, where as with silver i plan on buying a roll this next paycheck.
i can consistently add to my silver stack, even if it goes to $200 an ounce, i can still afford that.

Since silver is way more volatile, I'd say No. However the same goes for a downwards move. Silver can reach 50 easier than gold 2.5k.
Also takes like one of Donald's senile moments as the US declares China's US debt null and void. Gold would be at 10k the next day as EUR, CHF, JPY and GBP take turns shitting on the dollar.

But it isn't. It should be read as, "If all the available silver were evenly distributed amongst one percent of the world's population, each would get 36 ounces of silver..." It's not really a ranking of where you'd stand if you had that much.

so thought experiment/question because I am not only bad at math but also don't know where to find this info
Inflation adjusted, the Silver squeeze the hunt brothers pulled off is like, 180usd or something right? but accounting for the M2 money supply that a few anons have referenced it's realistically over 700 inflation adjusted. Accounting for current gold prices that puts the GSR around the 8-12 mark I think. Now, what is inflation adjusted, the proper value of gold in usd? because it seems like it's be a lot higher, and if it is and assuming a similar GSR at the end of this rally I imagine silver will be well above 1000. That's what my instincts tell me but I'm too retarded and lazy to do any real digging into the reality of that

>If you ever read dying of money basically hyperinflation is a sudden collective realization or as much a psychological phenomenon than anything.
This is such an underrated concept. People really don't realize that all currencies, but most especially fiat currencies, run on faith.

Anything that threatens the confidence people may have in the fiat is an existential threat to that fiat.

For example, in the 1970s, special currency printing presses, similar to what the US used to print their currency at the time were sold to Iran. Those presses ended up in Lebanon and were used to print counterfeit US $100 federal reserve notes. The quality was so good, only the US Secret Service could detect the forgeries, and they refused to say what mistake the counterfeiters made that enabled their detection.

The USA just ate the cost, and honored those banknotes, because to do otherwise, would have caused a loss of faith in the security and value of US physical currency.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superdollar

Similarly, suppressing the price of gold and silver, particularly in the early years after going full fiat, was a deliberate, and essential strategy to help preserve faith and confidence in the US dollar.

London can slam paper silver all they want. When there's a $20USD spot price difference between China and the USA, LBMA and the COMEX are toast. Nothing can save them.

At this point I think the dumps are trying to delay the inevitable, which is the need to bail out the too big to fail institutions that are hundreds of billions of dollars underwater from their years of silver shorts they've got outstanding.

There's over a billion oz of reportable outstanding shorts. I don't know how many unreportable oz worth there are.
https://ycharts.com/indicators/comex_silver_combined_total_reportable_short_positions

For those who say the American Banks are net long, remember, back in 2011, the LBMA lied about how much available silver they had in their vaults. They also lied this October when they acutally ran dry while claiming they had many tons.

They touch on a lot of topics, one standout for me was when they talked about the price difference in china, the expert said the chinese price we see has at $17 vat tax built into it, and people in china are actually buying silver cheaper than we are right now.

This is why you buy physical, or go bareback. Silver isn't going back down to $50. Not when the price in China is $130+

(((They've))) been stop loss hunting in the silver market for decades. I remember years ago someone waited until the brief window between London closing and NY open and dumped 5 million ounces in 5 minutes, I believe using spoofing, which crashed a whole bunch of people's stops. This was more than 10 years ago.

20 billion of KNOWN reserves. There's more, they just haven't bothered to go looking for them yet. There's also been only 50 years of known oil reserves left for the last 100 years.

Chinese silver taxes are extremely complex, with lots of exceptions, caveats, but I'm certain they don't apply at the SGE spot price levei.

by volume, most anime causes mental illness. There's a line between fucks you up and doesn't fuck you up, coboy bebop and akira are on one side, and serial experiments lain is on the wrong side. One of the things the wrong-side stuff does to you is makes you avatarfag with anime girl pictures, because you identify with the anime girl even though you have a penis. It's just an unhealthy thing to do to yourself, and it's rude to expose others to it. It's like throwing your trash in a river.

I think most of them were shook out back in the pre $60 silver days. Waited 14 years to get their $50 bucks back, or figured the Eagles they bought for $15 bucks were ripe to harvest at $50.

ONE silver Maple is about $165 leafbucks right now. $4100+ per tube of 25.

Most who are holding past $70 are likely holding for $200+.

My father potters around gardening and listening to Andre Rieu.

He's been paid to lie about silver for years. When he does tell the truth, he sometimes makes inadvertent confessions.
https://youtu.be/_av-VEwIMmI

His .org, CPM Group is the one who came up with the ridiculous notion there were 54 billion ounces of silver available, which included all the silver ever mined in human history.

He also said something about how trying to squeeze the silver supply was like trying to stop Niagra falls.

That's a small and slow knock on from LCS to COMEX, unless you're right because the dip was due to reclamation silver production boom, but I doubt it.

>54 billion ounces of silver available
doesn't seem that far off to me, there's about 20 billion ounces of bullion and coins, however much is in silverware and nazi teapots and things like that, let's say 10 billion because why not, that leaves another 20 billion that I didn't think of. Total silver production to date is more than 60 billion ounces, so having 10 billion buried in landfills and lost at sea doesn't seem too crazy. Are you saying it's more than that?
>>
>>61720826
Well I'm a white male and in Civil, maybe I'll get some drainage tickets and see you in 25yrs
>>
>>61720828

I've thought about that. They are good shape shifters, but I cannot see them going that far. He's (was?) a ginger, and there's no shortage of them willing to sell you their own people and country.
>>

Not reclaimable in any remotely economically feasible way so not worth consideration until silver reaches an astronomical price.
>>

>>
>>61720828
Probably less than 6 billion ounces above ground. Silver is consumed and lost. We don't even have good numbers for military usage.

There was an anon here who was originally at the 20 billion ounce and we fought it out with him, but he was diligent and honest and discovered a better estimate closer to what we had been saying, and he made the picrel spreadsheet based on his most accurate available information.

Anyone here stack platinum or palladium? Is it worth investing into as a beginner?
>>
>>61720930
1. Yes.
2. No, in my opinion, unless you've got a lot of money. Silver has several multiples to go, same for gold, but platinum and palladium are nearly pure industrial metals that really depend on the health of the economy for their value, whereas gold and silver do really well in a recession because they're monetary metals.
