I think a lot of people wrongly believe that communities will just self cannibalize. If you're not in some ultradiverse or crime ridden shithole, your white boomer neighbors are going to probably be decently polite, especially when the power is out. For all of society to cave in and fully stop all productive activity, particularly in places that are remotely American, is kind of absurd. This crisis would have to be at least a full week with absolutely zero information before it gets bad. It would likely be just under two weeks with absolutely no news or information when things actually crack. There will be looting or a distribution of things from groceries and convenience stores which should last that first week. The odds of a scenario of complete radio silence for that long is just... low.

lol I don’t even care. I was motivated to prep a few years back. But it would be far worse to prep and having expended all that energy just to get fucked somehow just a month in. It would be better to die than having put in the effort and then get fucked anyway. If the country wasn’t Brazil demographics now I’d be more about it. But there’s way too much that can go wrong.
