Technically you still won't even if you do inherit one, but that is another discussion. So don't worry about the house. If you are in the majority, you already live in that house with your parents. I have no children and no legacy to pass on, so I am -very- rich by modern standards because all of my needs are met and I can idle away all my days doing whatever I want without real financial concern. While I do want children, modern women are a problem that money cannot fix, so "get rich" is not a useful strategy to that life aspect.

I picked the business because it was failing but still profitable. Sales were down 50% and the owner wanted out but she had several valuable clients. 2 government, 2 commercial, 2 industrial, and about a dozen private citizens.

I paid one year gross which was $75k in 2001. This is about 3 times my work salary that year. I was making about $25k per year. For comparison a house in my town cost about $75k that year.

First year all profits went to the previous owner. Second year I dropped all her residential house cleaning clients and only made $50k
Third year I convinced one of her government clients to sign a 6 year renewable contract and made my first million dollars. I've signed over a million dollars worth of work every year since.

I could easily build my business from the ground up now. That's basically what I do every year since I have to find new jobs every time a contract runs out.

But no, what I bought aside from a client list was training on compliance, equipment, management, etc. I couldn't have started my business without the previous owner training me. That's what I paid $75k for was her knowledge.
