I can't find anything on the internet documenting anyone marinating soft boiled eggs in hot sauce. So I am marinating soft boiled eggs in hot sauce. Got these babies marinating in some habanero hot sauce next to some other eggs in some Japanese soy marinade. It's been one (1) day. How long should I let them go? Ramen eggs usually marinate for 5 days at most but this is a vinegar based sauce.
>>20432649you can just put the sauce on the eggs and eat them
I marinate my ramen eggs for less than 24 hours, but I also use leftover chasu braising liquid, it gets too salty if it's marinated over a day.
>>20432655No WAY
>>20432649I tried a chink tea egg like this. It was very gross and tea flavored. I only left it for a day and a half.
>>20432709You can just put the tea on the eggs and eat them.
>>20432649Also in case you're sick of turning your things marinating in a bag cuz the bag always drops down, I made this handy egg hammock with chip clips. Fully submerged Lil eggs boys.
>>20432755Thanks for the life-hack, grandma.
>>20432774I wish my grandma was still alive.
Guys please talk about my eggs/eggs in general. I was very proud of my egg storage technique and couldn't believe nobody on the internet has let their eggs sit in hot sauce?
>>20433080That's not very nice. Why? I used these two sauces. I really enjoy a soy-egg so I figured why not try a hot egg? I'm just wondering if the vinegar content in the HS will be enough to almost pickle the egg? I used these two sauces
They are starting to gain some color anons. If I get the munchies I'll bust one out and cut into it, but the longer they sit and the marinade penetrates the jammier the center will get.
I know this isn't a traditional soy-egg marinade but it gets the job done. Although I wish it was saltier. Love it when they start to get some color.
neat experiment.i would suggest a less vinegary hot sauce
>>20433128Such as? I hate Sriracha AKA sugar sauce
>>20433167if a sugary hot sauce is out, maybe a mustard-based one, or chilli oil?smokey hot salsa style might be based and i kind of want to try it myself. turn that into an egg salad sandwich.
>>20433192I got a hot sauce variety kit so I'll be regularly posting about new egg flavors. Next well do a chipotle hot sauce, or maybe a jalapeño since ita green. Can you be more precise what you mean with a smokey salsa style?
>>20432649when i make pickled eggs i let them pickle for a least a week, since hot sauce is mainly vinegar as well i'd say that's a good amount of time (in reality you can probably just do 3 days)
>>20433201i usually make it myself but imagine smokey chipotle cholula with added salsa-sized tomatoes and roasted peppers
>>20433231But daddy want eggy now baby :(
>>20433264the best things take time, i have to pull some real self restraint to not eat my pickling eggs halfway through the week
>>20432755Based double inventor, it’s like if Newton got bonked and invented apple pie and gravity in one afternoonAlso hot sauce marinated eggs sound nice, do you have a specific use in mind?
>>20433329Tee hee. This made me smile, thank you for the kind words. The obvious use is for ramen. I like an extra egg so now I'll have two varieties. Also I was thinking of Japanese style egg salad sandwich where you keep one to put in the middle for that elaesthetic slide. So just normal egg things. I quit drinking and I'm trying to up my protein intake. Plus egg farts are funny.
>>20433349Aesthetic slice sorry phone posting.
>>20433329Oh and salads! I love hard boiled eggs on my salad and this will just add another layer of flavor.
would poking a bunch of tiny little holes in them make a difference?
>>20432755So instead of turning a bag you have to reach in and fondle the balls in the sack. Gay.
>>20433329Fuck Newton. If he didn't invent gravity, I'd be floating around and enjoying my life.
I would like to know if the eggs turned into acidic fucking dogshit or if they were edible
>>20433421I believe so. That just seems to make sense since it would have less space to travel. But these were soft boiled. >>20433432Unironically my favorite part lol>>20433536I don't see why they would. People pickle eggs all the time. This is a little different but still. Plus the ramen egg recipe has vinegar in it as well. They are calling my name, anons. They mock me. Calling my name throughout the still night. Haunting me every moment. "Egg"
>>20433583Is your name also "Egg"?
>>20433594
>>20433594Thats just how eggs talk, stupid. It's not like this is an episode of ATHF. think of it more an an episode of Pokémon.
Whenever I finish a jar of pickled pepperoncini I like to soft boil some eggs and pickle them in the leftover pepperoncini juice. You'll have to let us know how these turn out.
>>20433664How many days? This information would help me out greatly.
>>20433668My experience has been that any less than 4 days is not long enough. A week is preferable, and any longer than about 2 weeks led to the eggs getting rubbery.
>>20433668But having said that, it may be different for you especially since you're using hot sauce and not straight up vinegar pickling juice.Maybe try one after 2 or three days and see how it's come along so far, it might need more time but maybe not.
Based experimental anon.

>>20435545I AM THE ONE WHO FUCKS
The hot sauce ones will taste pretty good, you don't have to worry about leaving them in the solution too long because they will just be like normal pickled eggs (I'm assuming you mixed the hot sauce with some vinegar). I usually make them with completely submerged though, so they probably won't last as long as normal pickled eggs if you keep them this way.If you want to try something else that's really good, you could try pickling some sausage. I buy some kielbasa when it's on sale sometimes and pickle a few pounds at a time, great snack.
>>20432649My only critique is that you should have tried with a dark and sweeter kind of chili sauce. Habanero is one of my favorite peppers and I use it for a bunch of different meals, but I tried it on soft boiled eggs before and it wasnt that good IMO. The bright citrusy taste of habanero just doesn't go well with egg to me.Try with a red jalepeno, or fresno pepper based sauce next time. Or maybe even gochujang kind of sauce
>>20435838This is just the beginning, anon. You will remember eggboy. Mark my words. This is just what we had on hand. We will be marinating new eggs every week and trying them. We will vote on what kind of eggs we will marinate next week. It will be fun. It WONT be reddit.
>>20432755you could just put them in a small tupperware container or bowl so the marinade will cover them, faggot.
>>20435557Fuck me zaddy
>>20432755wait until this guy discovers jars and tupperware
>>20433103>but the longer they sit and the marinade penetrates the jammier the center will get.
>>20435557Lush.

>>20433077Well, you made me want to marinate boiled eggs in hot sauce, genius anon. Seems very tasty.
>>20435557Scrumptious.
>>20432649>he doesn't know
I do this. The answer is three days. Add a splash of extra vinegar and water. On the second day "burp" the bag to let some of the sulphur out.Nowadays I just dump half a bottle of hotsauce in a jar of pickle juice (pickles removed). Add a couple tables spoons of vinegar and then add the eggs. Circulate. Let rest four days.
>>20436202>>20436443Do you retards not understand this would take considerably more marinade? Are you retarded on purpose?
Egg boy checking in. Probably about to crack one of those hot sauce boys. Go wolves.
