I think they brought these back then discontinued them again. you have remember that the reason anything gets discontinued is because people didn't buy it. it was unprofitable. it could be the best product in the world but people have to not only buy it but buy it with such regularity that they can justify running the machines that create it every day.

Things can be profitable and still get the axe because some misguided short-sighted retard with an MBA thinks his doomed idea will be more profitable because he thinks a fad product will have better returns in the short term. As long as the line goes up for the month he holds his position, he doesn't care about long term profit or institutionalizing the brand.
I imagine nestle lost the Simpsons license and weren't selling as many Butterfinger products so they cut it and kept regular Butterfinger. Or maybe Simpsons popularity fell and it wasn't worth it.
