A lot of artists who have drawn top Viktor draw him as the bottom 90% of the time and just briefly switch for variety/increase audience. In terms of fic numbers, quality > quantity so why even hyperfocus on stats? The more popular bottom in a ship usually stealth stats because a lot of people don't tag positions in rated M/E fics when the fic features the "default" bottom. There are other issues with relying on AO3 numbers besides that: some fics contain switching (both top/bottom tags present) and a huge chunk of nufujos think top/bottom refers to dom/sub personality instead of a sex position. I have personally seen quite a few "bottom Jayce" fics that are actually bottom Viktor. Based on my personal fic reading habits, if I have 7-10 good canon divergent longfics and a 15-20 good smut fics, that's enough to sustain me in a fandom. If a fic is written well, I reread it. I don't give a shit about the other 95% of garbage that's produced. No one realistically speaking will read all 7,350 fics. And counting. The closest character to Viktor in fantasy I've probably seen is Kari from the Hrimland Saga. Because he's a mage from an Academy, is very nice as a person, has to deal with and cope with the body horror mutations that magic has on his body and becomes a healer living in an isolated place and people come to see him about it.
