It is her very first internal monologue we hear: "I'm stuck." and I think it drives home the point that she is unwilling to better herself.She forgets about the presentation, Coco offers to work with her twice, once she even gets Mymy to help out, and in the end, Maya presents Mymys presentation. It was entirely her sisters' effort that saved her, and what does she do? She goes back to watching porn after insulting Coco. She could change, but she does not even put in the effort to take the help offered by her sister.I think the pilot portrays this very nicely: whereas Coco starts with barging through the door and immediately jumping onto Maya, she now knocks and calmly asks. Maya, on the other hand, went from watching porn to watching porn.

Just the conflict between a resentful miserable girl and her sister trying so hard to make her have a better time, is interesting to me. Specially with more stuff like the cat thing, maya using the fact that shes not adopted to get "an edge" over her more superior sisters, the 16 comic. This series felt refreshing to me and it felt different from other indie stuff. Those that just seemed like the authors personal fun trying way to hard to go into a more broad market without changing the product to be more digestible towards that same market, like dead end.

yknow, something i do like is that all of the three sisters could be their own protagonist of the setting. cocos side could be about the weird friends she has or the stuff she puts up to be a perfect person, with mayas as a good antagonist because of their relationship. while a mymy centric show would feel more like a comedy with subtle hints of seriousness about mymys weird shenanigans with all of the also weird and quirky students. it would not be "ongezellig" but i can see potential. personally, i always thought of the official series like this, usually a maya-centric main plot and a sister/s secondary plot for every episode.
