Why didn't Robotnik ever get a persistent love interest character like Amy is to Sonic? I understand that IDW wouldn't do it because it would conflict with the games lore, but Archie did whatever it felt like and generally treated the game lore as a mild inconvenience to be stuffed into whatever fever dream Ken Penders was going through. The best we got was post reboot's Thunderbolt but by then the mandates were in effect and we could only get hints of a one-sided crush rather than an actual relationship (even a very one-sided one like Sonic and Amy's in the games).
