Just finished re-reading this today. One of my absolute favorite books. Everything from the art to the dialogue is incredible.

What did you think of it? What do you think the moai heads and the birds mean? What was your favorite part?
>>
>>143311787
I loved it, but I need to read it again.
He may have been inspired by Goodnight Punpun.
>>
>>143311787
I genuinely hate this comic and find it to be one of the most overrated mediocre comics of all time.

>y-you just didn’t get it
No I simply wasn’t impressed.
>>
>>143312164
Shut up, bitch.
>>
For me it was the moment swimming in the flooded quarry. Love the smaller, peaceful moments in it. Makes some of the reveals later even better
>>
>>143312231
>n-n-no you have to be nice!
>just praise things!!!
>reeeeeee

Seethe more faggot
>>
>>143312429
Yeah the parts where Polza's meandering through nature are beautiful. It inspired me to go for a walk through my local state park today.

Speaking of reveals, I still love the scene in Book 3 where it's that widespread of him standing by the highway at night with the massive moai head
>>
>>143312536
>it's that widespread
That’s not what it’s called. Was this your first time reading a comic?
>>
>>143312556
Excuse me I'm retarded lol
>>
>>143312466
You're clearly the only one seething, dumb bitch.
>>
>>143311787
One of the greatest of all time.
I like that one house with the paintings.
>>
>>143312466
I mean, you could at least try to articulate why you think it's bad.
>>
>>143312556
Why so mean?
>>
>>143312466
You guys can't praise any comics that aren't superslop
>>
Larcenet appararently drew a comic book adaptation of The Road.
I can't wait.
>>
>>143312164
I think this comic is overrated dogshit too but I don't need to come into the thread and say it. Anyone who likes it cannot be reasoned with.
>>
>>143314563
>I don't need to come into the thread and say it
>>
>>143314601
Context nigger, context.
>>
>>143314615
The context is you self BTFO.
>>
>>143314632
Albeit the context is that I am based and you're dilating over a word, as you do when you are "misgendered."
>>
>>143314655
>I am based
>you're dilating
Holy fucking KEK
>>
>>143314563
What are some of your favorite comics so I can better hate on your taste
>>
>>143311787
This comic is shit and you should be ashamed of yourself, but you won't.
>>
>>143314758
Daredevil (Bendis)
Mister Miracle(King)
Batman (Snyder)
Spider-Man (Slott)

Come at me, faggot.
>>
>>143314758
Not gonna state them because the merits of one comic shouldn't be judged based off the favorites of a critic additionally hijackers posting bait in my name like >>143314793 prove that like I said there is no reasoning with Blast fans.
Also I'm gay and trans and black.
My favorite comics are Watchmen, the original run of Spiderman until Clone Saga, and Punisher MAX.
>>
>>143314820
Your schizophrenia might interfere with your ability to reason.
>Also I'm gay and trans and black.
We knew that already.

All great reads except Tom king I hate that guy for the most part or maybe I just like the Kirby MM better. Dan slott is definitely a quantity over quality but he has his moments
>>143314820
Those are all great but pretty basic
>>
>>143311787
It's good.

Why is it every time a non-cape, non-adapted comic gets a thread, some faggot always comes out of the woodwork to bash it as much as possible?
The faggot never provides any kind of good criticism or offers anything worthwhile, either. Is it some shitty attempt to keep the thread bumped with outrage from the three people that read it?
>>
>>143311787
K I N O
>>
>>143311787
reading it for the first time, and Polza finding out Roland carved the Moai's in the woods was a nice moment, if bittersweet.
>>
>>143316691
What do you call a cucumber who wears a cape?
>>
someone do a storytime pls
>>
>>143311787
It’s the type of comic a 13 year old who usually reads capeshit would find remarkable.

>>143312164
This.
>>
>>143317874
I know it's you.
>>
>>143312143
>He may have been inspired by Goodnight Punpun.
How?
>>
>>143316056
It seems like some kind of insecurity. Like they're almost offended that there are people that branch out from capecrap and pretend those people are just pretentious.
>>
>>143312164
>>143317874
>>143314563
Dismissing things as overrated, especially without even attempting to form an actual argument, is just the coward's way of saying "I am a very special boy because I dislike popular things."
>>
>>143318934
As opposed to OP’s remarkable dissertation of
>Everything from the art to the dialogue is incredible.
I’ve encountered this so much lately, not personally as I’m sure you’ll allege I’m just a cynic, but in passing towards others as well. I don’t understand why praise is just accepted and concurred but dislike is subject to inquisition and contempt. I think it’s why people toss around the brand of “shill” so much these days, for only a shill would conduct themselves in this manner.

OP asked what others thought of the book, I and the other anons ITT shared our thoughts. However, I don’t see you demanding anon explain his enjoyment.

I’m setting the over/under at two anons and at least one is a shill.

>giving yourself away
Why?
>>
>>143319025
While neither is precise, the dislike ITT is considerably less pointed than the praise, and expressed in terms that invite contempt
The board also does have highly noticeable activity from people trying to shit up any thread that isn't about their superhero comics and when your "thoughts" align you're going to be lumped in with them, deal with it
>>
>>143319449
>While neither is precise, the dislike ITT is considerably less pointed than the praise
No no explain to me how
>Everything from the art to the dialogue is incredible.
Is “pointed”.
>>
>>143319449
>The board also does have highly noticeable activity from people trying to shit up any thread that isn't about their superhero comics and when your "thoughts" align you're going to be lumped in with them, deal with it
Hit enter to early, you’ll notice this is the same in cape threads. This persecution complex you’ve displayed here and here
>>143318862
>>143316056
is proof that you’re either here as a tourist or you’re delusional enough to think that you’re any better than people you share space with, a sign of narcissism and pretentiousness.

Get the fuck over yourself. Liking something doesn’t make it universally beloved and disliking something is absolutely acceptable. Only the creator themself, trapped by their ego, or a financially invested party would be this adamant that nothing but praise be showered upon anything.

>>143319292
I accept your concession.

Blast is great and all, but it's very grim and depressing, also it's not even that great.

wut

Not that anon but this is whenever I think of david lynch movies hope that helps
>>
>>143312556
And people still bitch about Eltingville not being accurate.
>>
>>143311787
Hated the art of this one and dropped it somewhere about halfway. Ended up coming back to it weeks later to give it another shot. Glad I did because that whole last chapter/epilogue was fantastic. Still hate the art though.
>>
>>143321306
What do you hate about the art?
>>
Mostly the way people were drawn. And I don't mean just Polza but everyone else as well.
>>
>>143322026
That's understandable. I really like the backgrounds myself.
>>
143319497
literally losing your mind because people here don't hate this kek

i kind of dislike stories where the mc is the narrator and you can’t trust what he says.
leave the story wondering what’s real and what’s bullshit
>>
>>143328713
This type of story can be fun.
>>
>>143328713
>>143326450
Well, I think that's basically the point of the story. You can't trust what the narrator is saying, especially by the end. Though I do think there might have been some genuinely supernatural aspect to his blasts, it can be interpreted in any way.
