I also really enjoy the Fleischer Bros. films. Nothing too deep, just some quick pulpy fun with a more down to earth Superman.It helps that they pretty much set the standard for superhero cartoons.

I thought the George Reeves version of Superman was lovely. And of course, there’s that story about a kid pointing a loaded gun at George Reeves at a public appearance, and Reeves talking the kid out of shooting it at him because the bullet might hurt someone else even if it bounced off of him.
