I watched HB for the first time and one of the things I'm constantly thinking about are the Sins. Aside from Mammon, a lot of the sins don't feel like they embody what they're supposed to represent. I think gluttony is the best example of this. Her being a normal bee/fox demon wouldn't have changed much of the episode Maybe I'm wrong but what are /co/ opinions on this?
The sins in Helluva Boss should have been just Celebrities like VerosikaThey don't feel powerful, They are just the basic shit people think the Sins are Mammon is the only one I like but mostly because he is fun but I wish he was in a better show

It's just a generic sparkledog. The only reason they're called the seven deadly sins is because Vivienne is probably autistic and loves it when characters can be categorized like a deck of cards. The same people who love making Sonic OCs, ponies with cutie marks, Gemsonas, the entire existence of the Homestuck trolls, or crafting their OC in a Harry Potter house. It's Seven Deadly Sins because Hell is the setting and you expect them there and now it gives Vivienne an excuse to make seven big league characters that people can go, "OH OH IT'S SLOTH" whatever. It's just marketing. "Why is she Gluttony? Uh, uhhhh, cause she likes to over-indulge with partying! Phew, another one down, six more sins to go!" That's the mentality.

>>143325490>the sins are suppose to be embodiments of bad behaviorsWhy is it assumed she was intending to match up 1:1 though?Asmodeus is not at all afraid to perpetuate the SIN, good or bad, regardless, but he's the most vocal about the very worst of the sin, most likely because he's also an interpretation where he takes the benevolent side of Passion that is involved in lust to be a very beautiful yet serious thing, so seeing someone use it for the malicious side of lust is honestly pretty reasonably disgusting because he's reminded that lust is very easily abusable.Honestly, I think if these hypothetical sins were given embodiments in general, you could reasonably expect some of them might look on the more positive side unless they were hard programmed to ONLY see the negatives.There's really nothing too drastically wrong with the sins being more positive about their sins, turning what positive details of their sins there is into what they like best, (except for Mammon who revels in the negative side and is a very convincing antagonist because of it) is honestly not the worst thing especially for this story that is already VERY loose with it's religious ties as is.Hell, if anything, someone could very easily spin Mammon/Greed into a positive light too, sins aren't always a binary evil, it's how they're handled from person to person.
