What are some shows that older generations are much more likely to know about than newer generations?

I don't think 2000s and 2010s kids know about this show and the depressing ending it had

Oldfart, standing by.

Death is a natural part of life, anon, and this show portrayed it in the sweetest, gentlest way possible for a children's cartoon.

You can say the same with this one

It did. Yet I still cried. I still cry like a little bitch, when I see that ending.
>>
Disney buried this shit deep.
>>
>>143338205
I'd be surprised if any 2000s kid even knows this show exists and I remember it was decently successful in the 90s. It was on for 5 seasons
>>
>>143338205
I did, I have no idea how you would miss something like this

David the Gnome is great.
I got the DVD set about two years ago

FOX's Peter Pan and the Pirates is the best version of Peter Pan.
Runner up is: Peter and the Starcatcher novels.

Eek! the Cat was really good.
The Terrible ThunderLizards was only good when it was part of Eek. Once they got their own show, it wasn't as good!

I just rewatched this awhile ago wondering if it was as sad as I remembered as a kid and sure enough, also cried like a little bitch.

Same with Baby Mine from the original 1941 Dumbo. When his mom reaches through the bars to rock him in her trunk and gently sets him down and waves goodbye through the little window? Jesus. Instant tears.

I don't think this ever aired in the anglophone world but holy fuck, was it good. It's bizarre how well it portrayed history, from switching from a monarchy to an elected government and even Hitler. It was one of my favourite cartoons growing up.
>>143338205
That ending, man. I loved the more mystical shit from the 80s. That's why I liked Infinity Train. It had a lot of the same weirdness and mystical crap and different talk down to it's audience. My kid was too young to enjoy it when it aired (I'm the guy whose son freaked the fuck out at Hilda's frogspider thing; he's six years old) but in a few years, I hope to show him IT.

I teared up a little when they used that song in Halt And Catch Fire.

DIDNT talk down to ITS audience
Fucking autoincorrect.

Is just like to say that the Italian themesong for Jem was the best one ever.

I'm older but never heard of it until the last 10 years or so. I do however remember the CBS special that came before it

>>
>>143341942
Huh, I guess that explains why there's relatively so little discussion on the Internet about it.

>Death is a natural part of life
Many bad things are "natural", that does not make them good.
>>
>>143344296
Death isn't good, it isn't bad. It simply is.
Its the fact of life, that the end can come at any time, at any moment, and at any way possible. That is why we must cherish every moment we have, for we don't know what is to come when we close our eyes one last time.

I get really sad to discuss older cartoons here on /co/, either it dies after 2 or 3 replies, some smug reply that it was shit because cartoons weren't good until the 90s or the 2010s, or nothing at all. My generation really has been displaced on /co/ which wouldn't bother me much if it wasn't due to the dishones replies that sometimes happen.
>>
>>143338373
and water is wet, anon. I'm tired of people saying obvious shit as though no one already understands it.

>THERE'S EDGIER PLOTS IN THAT DAVID THE GNOME

>>143338205
The depressing part to me is that it's a stark reminder that a very short time ago my country was still capable of producing widely loved expressions of culture. Sure, it was animated abroad because muh wages, but the idea is ours. Modernity and the cynical embracing of it killed most of our folklore, but here is some of it. And in the blink of an eye, even that was gone. On to a more extreme consumption society, and we'll just import our culture from abroad. Anything we do continue to make is of a degenerate, low quality. It's all either made by people with an alien's perspective on the world, or it's simply the increasingly unsophisticated propaganda of the modern world. And none of it is animated.

Most of them, I'd assume. Unless a show gets spammed in memes or on Twitter all the time, they probably aren't going to be familiar with it.

Flintstones, The Jetsons, Wacky Racers, Super Friends, anything Muppets, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Heathcliff, Captain N, and so on.
Seriously, I'd be surprised if most of Gen Z even knows what The Jetsons is, unless they're big into older cartoons.

>Parents and brothers and sisters get all killed in second episode
>Has Crow Hitler
This was the most hardcore cartoon ever.
