This is a fresh Robin that's just gotten combat training but still isn't over his parents' recent death too. They get in a big dumb arguement, Robin channels Batman's contempt and kicks GL's ass but goes too far with a killing technique.

This series is insanely unpopular and the Black Canary parts are genuinely awful but this is the most interesting version of Batman and Robin I've ever read. Wish it would have become the definitive take on Batman. The guy should always be portrayed as a child-endangering violent psycho doing a Clint Eastwood impression.

Batman is still independent and there isn't a Justice League yet, just Superman, Wonderwoman, Green Lantern and Plastic Man have an alliance. They don't like Batman's methods and he thinks the other four are either insane, stupid or wasting their potential. Also, this Batman curses every other sentence, which is weird, but it is certainly a quintessentially early 2000s thing.
