>In the aftermath of World War II, the country stands frozen–waiting for the next shoe to drop. In The City, a brutal murder draws the attention of rising star detective Dick Tracy, who soon discovers the bloodshed is just the beginning of a complicated web that threatens to ensnare everything he cares about.
Bump if you're reading.

>>143347994>write something on the ceiling like an absolute psycho>A tile hanging down with just written on it>it's written on the other side of the ceiling from too late????????????I don't think I can continue reading this comic sorry, I just can't wrap my head around the logistics of this graffiti.
Why's the art so low res?
And that's it. If you liked this, support your LCS or whatever.
>>143348062I think the graffiti is not diegetic.I'm assuming its the title of the comic.
>>143348079>black bossI legit left this on the rack because of this when I flipped through it at the store. Yeah, a black guy is the overboss of organized crime in 1947. Gtfoh
>>143348090so far I dig it.I think the art style is pretty good, even if the story seems a little too basic already out the gate.
>>143348103i mean, it literally did happen in southern states fairly often.
This art is generic dogshit.
>>143348121Sure thing, Alex.
>>143347983>>143347988>>143347994So, I'm someone with a very surface level knowledge of Dick Tracy (though I have seen the movie many times) and I've got a question for you hardcore fans: has this franchise ever been this bloody, or is this the grittiest version yet?

>>143348103The shadowy tint may have given you a false impression. I'm pretty sure this is the non-Pacino version of Big Boy.
>>143348159>grittyIt seems like people today conflate Dick Tracy and Mike Hammer (searching “Dick Tracy fan art” will certainly bear this out). Tracy is a WASP. He’s manly but also gentlemanly. He’s closer to Sherlock Holmes or Lamont Cranston (of radio) than a noir character. The gun toting Tracy with gritted teeth that seems to be ubiquitous when he does show up nowadays doesn’t really ring true for me.
>>143348159Original Gould series got pretty violent but not gory.
>>143348532If you read anything segura or moreci said they made it clear they want this to be like what Craig casino royale was for bond. They’re clearly obsessed with making a comic to be adapted into a film. All the wrong intentions, top to bottom.
>>143348532>He’s manly but also gentlemanly. That was always the impression I got since my only real exposure to him was the movie. He had to be tough when shit is going down, but he's a good-hearted guy most of the time.

>People concerned about woke>but no one comments on the art being badwhat the fuck. when they brought shadow back in the 80's the art was the best feature
Thanks. Not a bad start.
>>143348079>oh shit I fucked up the hat>it’s the last page, fuck it
>>143348580That’s simply not true. Read the thread next time retard.
>>143347971>Bump
Well this was awful
>>143348435>Dick Tlacy
>>143347965reading bump
>>143347971>>143347965Segura is a shitty writer and shitty person
>>143348561Which is odd because doesn't Warren Beatty still have the film rights?
>>143351367He does, but lets be honest, he won't be around for much longer. Besides that in his surreal Dick Tracy specials, he's sort of expressed that he thought he went too stylistic in the movie(though him as Tracy critiquing it), and mused that a new movie should have a younger Tracy and go for a harder edge.
