Post the absolute worst comic art.
What benefit would a sword shooting gun have over a regular gun?

OP here. Sorry, I seem to have confused my Worst Art folder with my Absolure Coolest Shit Ever folder. Let's start again.
>>143365713Samefag pls
All of it. The first couple or issues of Ms Marvel are the only good comic art I've ever seen
>>143365663Maisie Williams?
>>143365663In the 00's onward they gave some random 3rd worlder to do She-Hulk's art.
>>143365663Fucking Peter Lorre looking bitch
>>143365820Lol, I was literally trying to find a good (bad) page from that run too. Small face shulk is just terrible
>>143365859Cute Sue, but it looks like they carved Namor's face from wood
>>143365663Pulido's a decent artist in terms of action and stuff but his style does not work at all on non-action stuff like She-Hulk.
>>143365638if it hits a bullet it can slice it into two
>>143365963It worked perfectly. She's a big hulking monster. She should look freaky, and tonally its part of the story. How an oversized gamma irritated creature runs a law firm and tries to have a normal lide and such. The non-action locales, the office and city scapes and everything looked great. Like real independant comics with soul, not dashed off house style backgrounds.
>>143366073That's what we call a sleep aid.
It's sad that only Bryne & Benny Hill could make She-Hulk work & not make it look like contrived bullshit.
>>143366118KEK>>143366139This guy get's it, unfortunately guys like us were born in the wrong generation these days
>>143365621Ariel Olivetti is a good artist
>>143366186Wow, Marvel did a crossover with Reboot?
>>143366167I do not give a fuck about her insecurities or problems or how she was femcel in collage. All that does give her a layer of ick I don't want to get near. Just have Sexy funtime adventures like Elvira or Barbarella.
>>143366222see>>143366118>That's what we call a sleep aid.
>>143365708>It's a knife, Gun.>A knife that stabs Franks.
>That time she broke the toaster & felt really bad about it.
>>143365756>The first couple or issues of Ms Marvel are the only good comic art I've ever seenchrist, what do you even like in general?
>>143365820Wouldn't be bad if they just fixed the facial proportions. It looks shooped. (I know it isn't.)
>>143366186Is this one of those cursed early 2000s 3D porn comics
>>143365769This doesn't even look finished
>>143366333That's a shame, that's a cute Arcade design.
>>143366333If this wasn't a Marvel comic would it bother you?
>>143366233I stand by my opinion. For characters like Frank or especially tankier ones like Hulk/The Juggernaut he's perfect. His twinks (spider-man) are a bit too beefy but I don't mind personally.
>>143366917Hal! No!
Man, colorists hard carry a lot of these
>>143365663Jesus, she looks like the bitch ex wife of a buddy of mine...
>>143367001>Jesus, she looks like the bitch ex wife of a buddy of mine...Wow that's so cool man haha
>>143365621"80 people get stabbed by a knife shot from a gun. Some call this "getting shabbed""
>>143366888>forgetting peter is built as fuckUltimate and its consequences have been a disaster for Spider-Man
>>143367533Even OG Peter was a twunk at best. And realistically, he may as well be a twink. His muscle is wiry and while he's super strong, he's also more flexible than any gymnast and a person who is too buff wouldn't give off such an impression.I'm pro-musclebound Spider-Man, I just think the more wiry look makes more sense.Being built like a brick shithouse makes more sense for guys like Frank or Batman who have to rely on any once of strength they can squeeze out or the Hulk whose power is to gain muscle mass on top of everything else.
>>143366876yes?
>>143367577I'd say he should be muscular but not like bulky. Like you look at him and you can tell he's got power in his punches. Like look at swimmers or runners and that has to be like the bare minimum for Peter. He's built well, he's just not full on bodybuilder.
>>143366876Honestly would be fine if it was a free webcomic but I think don’t think the art justifies the price
>>143365621the first few pages of original mace windu comic from 2017 are atrocious. some of the art is good but there are times when yoda looks like a haggard midget version of carl from ATHF and shaak ti looks like a hapsburg
>>143365663kek >lazy eyes>wide face>but skinny arms and no muscle for a super heroinekinda hideous ngl
>>143367563Did the Bored Apes guy draw this
>>143366876It looks pretty rough for a published comic. You can tell the artist is capable of better but it just looks very rushed and lazy
>>143365723kek
apparently this is by the artist of The Maxxthe comic is fucking shit too, some nonsense Alien POS, i saw storytimed here years ago.
>>143366876I'll put it to you like this: even if Velma was an entirely orginal property, I'd still hate it.
>>143365663oddly microcephalitic.
>>143365663>Zach Hadel proudly presents: Maisie Williams done got green and growed up.
>>143365663Is this the Mr Frog shows?
>>143365638When you run out of ammo you can pick 'em up off the ground and have a melee weapon. When anybody finds the body they'll look for a guy with a sword, not a guy with a gun.It apparently makes a cool "fwocka-fwocka-fwocka" sound.
>>143365737Miller's descent into deranged near-abstract art is artistically fascinating

Aughra is supposed to be ugly and all, but
>>143365663I tried to redraw this but I couldn't get it look like that, actually came out cute. I thought I was shit at drawing humans, but this helped me to show I'm not that bad. Thank you She-Hulk.

>>143366917I like to think that's Captain Hero from Drawn Together disguised as Superman.
Not that Ottley's art was much better, but the first few volumes of Invincible were painful
>>143365638No clue but apparently it's good enough for Lockheed to put that tech in missiles
>>143372285Not even close to Invincible's worse art
>>143367633The Bruce Lee build is best for Pete, you shouldn't know how ripped he is until he puts on the suit
>>143372390That's a missile with fucking blades in it, you absolute dunce. Which part of this looks like a gun to you?pls respond.
>>143372285I was not liking Walker's art at the begining of the comic but when he returned more in the end for a couple of issues I really diged his new artstyle.
>>143365621Sorry but this is cool.
>>143367563Did Araki draw this
>>143366186What comic is this??
>>143371419I'm just baffled by this so much, it's not that it's blatant tracing it's that it's of a pretty well known property to. If it was some nobodies art he happened to find on some 2nd world website I'd understand but 40K? He was just waiting to get shit flung at him
>>143365663>hating pulido in 2016
some of those look like the artist/inker doesn't realize the ifnal page will be in high res online, probably working on size 1:1 from the usual floppy size. That's the impression I get from all those background dot eyed characters at least.
>>143370027>o my globs how does that human technology glicking works
>>143373517>mfw child dies
>>143369491>You can tell the artist is capable of betterbased on this page? I expect someone stuck in Chris chan autofellation mode forever. there's no tallent, no creativity there, just a child brain copying anime shit at random and unable to keep focus on anything
>>143373713Comic artists work on 10 by 15 inch paper (if not working digital) and usually worked with the idea that things at a certain size couldn’t be too detailed or it’d end up looking like a mess when shrunk to print size. Yeah digital does throw a wrench in things, but ultimately one can argue you’re not meant to zoom up that close anyway.
>>143369491Other pages in that issue have much cleaner linework, I think Nat probably had some kind of issue with meeting the deadline.
>>143373741>>143373771She had to do the issue in a week(or a weekend, even) because the script was late. It’s basically a colored, rushed storyboard job.
>>143365621This is great what the hell are you talking about

>>143373765that's not a rule. at all.
>>143373776not my problem. the rush job just exposes the lack of control and talent of the """""artist""""
>>143373856It was a standard a lot of artists held. Drawing for reproduction/downscaing. It hasn’t really been necessary as printing techniques got better, but a good deal of big comic artists still started before digital scans and better printing became a thing.Kyle Baker is one guy who talked about it, specifically because he’s spent the last 20 years breaking as many of the rules he was thought as possible.
>>143371581Not even the worst in the thread.
>>143372390The fact that this is the response to people complaining about the various uncle Abdullah's of terrorists getting killed as collateral damage fucking cracks me up. I mean, just imagine the aftermath of this thing.

>>143374349>realistic art style with cartoony proportionsIt lands right in the middle of the Uncanny Valley for me.
>>143374349People were complaining about the art when it was being storytimed the other month and I honestly didn't understand it at all.

>>143365737Yea I actually love this. Most of TDKSA art that edges towards bad is because of the digital colors. This page is among the best in that book. In fact I may read it again soon thanks for posting it.

This Is Why We Need To Ban AI Art. REAL Artists Need To Be Protected.
>>143366876My insane conspiracy theory is that this was specifically illustrated this way to attract pre-teen girls and tumblr users to Marvel, because that's the level of art this is.
>>143365884his suit looks really baggy

>>143366186As terrible as this is, at least Marvel was experimenting with art.
>>143374479I've talked to actual comic artists who worked in the analog era and and have read about it for well over a decade. Drawing for reproduction was absolutely a thing in comics.
>>143375864did Wolverine's mom fuck a baboon?
>>143371796Considering they were aiming for a simplified artstyle and I was able to pick it as Dark Crystal immediately, actually makes me think this is pretty good.
>>143365737>pic unrelated
>>143376312The artist is literally a tumblr user who networked her way onto Adventure Time because the creator liked her art, this isn't some conspiracy, it's something you could draw conclusions on by learning who drew it and learning to use google.Marvel's always tried(and largely failed) to use different art styles to attract readers outside of comic shop fanboys; general it fails because they don't manage to actually appeal to those audiences by not committing. They didn't mangaverse without using actual manga creators, tried to do girls comics by having them written by Mark fucking Millar, etc. Irony is, Allegri probably gets paid more for cruder storyboards for animation than she got paid for her Marvel work.

>>143376869It's a bit too cluttered but I think the artist can draw well enough. In my opinion the coloring is what screwed the drawing. Flat colors would've made it look interesting but the whole "realistic colors" that happened in the 00's and mid 10's really made some stylized artists look horrible.
>>143376839Holy shit Fletcher Hanks worked on FF?!
>>143376858this is amazing art, Peter's face is just intentionally goofy. Artist intended to make him look like a doge meme
>>143373897Land deciding to unironically trace the HNNNG meme for a serious panel is actually arguably worse than people trying and failing at real art. My 2 cents

>>143376879Wrong board fag
>>143376839>>143376984the best part of this is that it was Herb Trimpe basically trying his hand at the image style because he figures "well I guess this is what's popular now", so it's almost a parody of that style.Trimpe is one of the most meat-and-potatoes, classic style artists marvel had, one of those artists who was actually into drawing vehicles/military/western/ etc stuff that a lot of cape artists don't like to do. Very classic sort of illustration.

>>143376830The left is ok, the right captures a very specific time period that sells what it's trying to do better. It feels like a website from 2001, down to the font.
>>143376830Why do they do this
>>143380368Miller's whole direction was that he wanted to make the colors look like an amateur did them. His reasoning was that in the Golden/Silver age, the colors for comics used to be done by women working in a. studio without an art background, with the only direction being to lay out bright colors to separate things. It's why buildings would randomly be green or orange, in addition to the generally limited color choices. All of DKSA was meant to actively play against expectations by trying to make a modern silverage book

The art itself is okay I guess, for that era's bland look, the problem is that on the next page it's revealed that one of those glasses was poisoned and the old guy tried to kill the young guy, but the young guy always switches drinks so the old guy dies instead. How hard could it be for the artist to read that part and have the drinks on a table at some point? In the movie adaptation they actually fixed the scene by just doing that.
