The whole future thing and Chaosbots are a unique angle Hailey has compared to other shows on Disney. But that's about all it is. If the show had come out a couple of years ago along side Big City Greens, during a time where there were Disney didn't have a freeze on it's animation branch I imagine it would have gotten another season and maybe a little more. While the characters are fun to be around, and while the series has many great episode ideas, I feel like we don't get enough time with them. The fast-paced nature of 11 minute episode segments leaves a bit to be desired. And in a few episodes, it even makes crossing off the list item or significant character growth moments feel unearned. The tent-pole 22 minute episodes are the most well-rounded. If we get a second season, God willing, I would like to see each episode be 22 minutes long.I am excited to see how this season ends and I think the show deserves at least 3 seasons.

But I think the show probably had an initial order of 20ish episodes, maybe the executives said they would get another season or so, but ended up cancelling it and said, fuck it, we’ll give you a whole 30 episode season as compromise.
