Because Tim was the 90's kids Robin. that's the agegroup modern comic writers are- and will probably be the last generation of comic fans who grew up with comics to work in superhero comics. Jason fans are largely all Red Hood fans primarily and got into the character through the movie. They think comics are for nerds and have delusions of writing and directing an under the Red Hood movie in Nolan style or something(Like Hi-top films), Damian fans are already in control of the movies and comics and cartoons anyway.

It made reading his earlier solo books a fun contrast, since a lot of them went into how he had to deal with that balancing act, while also using his wits to get by.
