Gorgeous Princess Creamy Beamy VS...Bean Paste!!!(Issue 1)
>>144196600oh yes it's time for cringekino
What were (YOU) doing in September 2005, anons?
Count the references..seriously I have trouble finding them all I'm not well versed in pre-2005 anime and nerd popculture
>>144196658Hell if I know.
There are no aliens in Seto silly
wait where is Seto anyway?
(also joe fission on the last page is giving me flashbacks to those damn pages)
>>144196764Playing fucking GTA SA or Vice City or Leisure Suit Larry Magna Cum Laude and sexually experimenting with my classmate.
>>144196808Standing watch over the vale, as always. Not like he can go anywhere.
>usagi-nariiI see
>>144196828Does anyone who played that game NOT have PTSD about at least one stage?
Be honest Anon, would you rather date a Sucran or Usaganariian?
Her first name is Jezebel if you don’t wanna keep saying Tsugumi’s mom
>>144197010The miracle of... birth?
>>144196600>She's fat. Haha YES!
I will say I appreciate an evil empire who's first response is lethal force in mass instead of sending bumbling goons piecemeal
Ships kind of remind me of the happy face one from Heavy Metal
>>144196808Outside of Nagoya, in the mountains >>144196924>Kobayashi Reiko SimulationKek. Who did they get that from? Semprini? One of the Mylarians?
Ah, January 2006.I'd compare it to one of the other comics I've storytimed this year, but Reiko, Old Muertitos, and Dystopia were all long over by this point. Dystopia ended like 2 and a half years prior and Reiko 4 years. There was one other ongoing comic, but it's long as crap so I didn't want to do it right after Flying Suit Reiko
(That next comic is the Keenspace-Genesis Muertitos revival from 2004-2008. Both better and longer then the 2001-2002 one I did a few weeks ago)
>>144197281>>144197304A master of infiltration.
Pray. For. Momoka.I don’t know who she’s referencing, but she needs hugs and protection.(Also, see that babushka looking girl in the lower right? Don’t worry about her)
I can assure you, our author is more than familar with making Dex's
Also what’s with Russian teams and cocking up the olympics then?
Finally the girl of the hour!
That last page was also where our 'in media res' opening took place.guess we know how that turned out
Woo! We have finally pervailed over the forces of Sucran tyranny and made the world safe for Usaganariian tyranny!
>>144197417I dunno from sports, but some wiki-ing found this: https://web.archive.org/web/20070822182059/http://www.usabasketball.com/history/moly_1972.html
(getting some 3d monster maze vibes on this one)
How does Taiyaki with bean paste taste anyway I'm curious
She'll get better in her Super Sucran Blob Super Sucran form probably
Just to clarify, since it took me way, way too long to figure this out back in the day. X is The Mole. The Mole is X.
...well that was...unexpected
You think these two might be refugee's from one of those times Sucra invaded Usaganarii and made them launch their princesses out. Gunther looks like he's made of veggies.
Say it with me now.Every. Steph. Story. Has. Weird. Principals.Reiko's guy was an alien, the afterlife has Princi-Pal, and this guy is...something
>>144197656He appears to some sort of shiny egg-bullet.
End of Story 1: Gorgeous Princess Creamy Beamy in...Versus Bean Paste! We've got a couple of minis before the next full story. I'm going on break, see you guys in 7 minutes exactly except for give or give 3 minutes.See you in 10
Oh, and I found this. Someone tried to color the first page and upscale it.It's not perfect, but it looks pretty cool me thinks. I'd want to see more
So apparently Sucaras or whatever don't have genitals like humans do. The females in particular have an ink pouch and a vagina entirely full of spinnerets.
Epilogue 1A: Banana Bazooka
run tissue boy run.
Isn’t that a town in Ukraine?
I uh.Yeah I'll leave this one to you guys
Epilogue 1B: Kobayashi Reiko(Yes it’s who you think give me a sec)
Yes, yes. It's Flying Suit Reiko, star of Flying Suit Reiko, the 2000-2002(or 1998-2004? long story) webcomic by the same author/artist. Also the oldest material of theres that still exists.I did that last week. Hasn't even left the site proper yet. If the thread is going too slow for you maybe just pop this open and check out FSR.>>144111872
I wonder what happened to the rest of the FSR cast? Like our old alien conqueror Semprini? Or Shige that little scoundrel? Or Momoe that ball of lard.Only one besides Reiko I know is that Mariko became the Glutiva Chocolate Mascot Girl because Mentos bought out the company for her
And we're finally far enough in the future /co/ board existed. It didn't for the entire first issue.
She's had an interesting couple of years since we last saw Reiko...
And that’s why she stopped being FSR.Well, that and SLG not picking up the revival comic in 2004. I’m sure Steph will go mainstream any day now.For real this time.Unironically
End of Epilogues. One more thing before we get on to Issue/Part 2 though.

Oh and the OP image IS the t-shirt design. Not sure whatother designs they may or may not have had, but if you wanna recreate the t-shirt use OP on a white or pink t-shirt
here's some official art of The Teenage Bazooka Sisters. Before that late teen glow up(or blow up, in Vanillas case) Not part of the comic proper, but hey, it fits hereI'm gonna go get ready for the next arc
>>144196600Is this feish stuff?
Part 2:Gorgeous Princess Creamy Beamy VS...Gratuitous Bathing!Action! Puzzlement! Alcohol! (And steam-pinked girlfat)It's HOT SPRINGS TRIP 2006! (and 2007)
>>144198716There's some hints of it here and there, but for the most part it seems like no, it's just a dumb comedic webcomic. It just also happens that the creator is a chubby chaser.
This one is a /co/ favorite. For a number of reasons
>>144196658Probably playing Halo 2
I prefer the third part personally, but this one is good.
>>144198769And he's still out there isn't he
Speaking of anticipation, from what I know from my prior storytimes of this some of you have been looking forward to the next page a lot, haven't you?
>>144196988Usaginar drill hair genes tie my hands on this one.

I like this duo
>>144198948>having to throw her spawned hearts in the recyclingHa
Shade helps, not a bad spot though
Chintarou is a surprisingly wholesome lad. I like him.Probably a good change of pace too
According to what I learned last week Mariko is the girl on the chocolate box, Mentos bought out the company and made her the new head girl(both of them are from Flying Suit Reiko)Here's some circa 2004 art of Glutiva Mariko

>>144196600What ever happened to S.Sakurai? I used to and still every once in a while fap to some of his fetish comics.
So yeah, canonically they're all speaking Japanese
Cheesecake is quite the character isn't she.
>>144199291Steph Cherrywell retires from the game this month. Going pro, can’t have 29 years of kinky comics showing up in google. She’s taking down the DA and some misc stuff this month, Patreon stops getting new material next week and will go down by September.Hope she does well in the pro game.
Wonder what happened to Yukiri's mom...(also cheesecake you were their prisoner like 20 seconds ago jeez)
Is this good taste or nah? How was Jolie circa early 2000s
Wait wait wait wait is this that chick who got a fuckton of art in the Ms. /co/ qualifiers?
>>144199374Cool, thanks for the update.
Do those silhouettes mean anything? I’m not anime enough
...You know I just realized if she was to wear her bandana crooked it would look like two giant ears. neat
>>144197390Based Yakisaurus
I love the joke with this one.I don’t love that she just undid the invention of ice cream though. Now we’ll have to wait til the far future of IntraGalactic for it
anyway enough of that back to these guys
>>144199753>Do those silhouettes mean anything?I think the one second from the right is a member of the Burger King Kids Club.
...Who else, but Cheesecake!?!
>>144199953>pack of liesCheesecake can definitely feel herself coming in the air tonight
Well, our monster of the week is here. I'm going on break
Like I said, I was dangerously tarded the first couple times I read this.X is the Mole. The Mole is X. I'm a moron for not noticing
nooooooooo
>>144200388Momoka-chan, nooooo!
wait, is this
Ah yes it is! From Muertitos with love! Egyptian girls with giant noses
i swear cheesecake is built like one of those rodents that fucks to death
Puzztool was kinda cool. Forgot they were a guy actually
k need a break then final stretch
>>144201043The comic's almost over?
>>144201063bout 2/3s
Epilogue 2A: The Foreigner Bar
Chintarou is a wholesome house husband and/or manslave
>>144201492The regular screwing does him good
I think some of these alien species were in either FSR or Dystopia?
she was just a leftenant back then, under the command of...wait wrong script
SHE WAS JUST 62 YEARS FROM RETIREMENT
>>144201063Sakurai was incredibly prolific for a fetish cartoonist, but highly susceptible to thinking the next idea was better than the last. It's a whole career of ditching things for new or retooled takes.
End of Epilogue 2A(Everytime I read this story I notice a new detail, catch a new reference, read one line I skimmed prior. I love it)
Epilogue 2B: Cherrytastics
>>144201944Given how much her contemporaries stagnated I can’t blame her for wanting to innovate. MistyStuffers been doing the same art in the same vaguely creepy style since 99. When was the last time Willix did anything notable?Steph lasted for 25+ years, she was doing something right. She’s an old writer in a young man’s genre And both Muertitos and Flying Suit Reiko ended on their own terms. At this point Dystopia was the only one proper abandoned
Is this Chibi-Rei, Reiko's future daughter who came back to the past, or is this a different offspring? Also more Reiko. While Muertitos between both runs has the most comic pages of anything(Like 700-750 depending on how you count), given how spread out the cast is in that one Reiko might genuinely have the most on-page appearances and lines.
Reiko or Tsugumi?
End of Epilogue 2. Here comes the end game lads
first up, a couple of character files.
here's the Girls of the Class
Seriously, this guy gets character art, but not like, that one girl with the gum chewing habit(who is one of only 4 girls distinct enough to not be part of the girls of the class amalgam) or that Agent guy turned guy who was with Yukiri?
cool ngl
Not character art, but here's some art of the infamous Cheescake aka The White Rabbit
Gonna be honest lads, the last arc is just over a hundred pages long. I don't have it in me tonight to go another two hours. So, I'm gonna dump a bit more art and crap. Keep the thread alive overnight, and I will do the last arc tomorrow.
Here's a never released 3D Model of GPCB
Here's the very official header
>>144203079I see, real shame that it died at the wrong time.
Here's some art of Toots and that pikachu ripoff guy cosplaying as Creamy Beamy and The Mole
>>144203138It's like 140, it's very long compared to the others.
Here's the button you could put on your own website to link to the comic.
Oh and this one below the comic which would take you to the sister comic. Which will be done in...early July...ish. It's a long one ok, like a guranteed two day operation no matter what I do. I could have done this one in one day if I had started sooner, I did FSR in one day even if it was hell. Muertitos is not fucking happening in one day.
Here's that t-shirt design.I've never seen a real one. Someone put this on a white t-shirt photograph it, no need for faces just sweet sweet torsos. Unless you live in Wisconsin no one's going to recognize you
here's the little buttons
Something that seperates Creamy Beamy from most of the authors other stuff is it isn't written in short western style issues.Flying Suit Reiko has 21 main issues and 450 pages, around 20 pages on average accounting for bonus pages and mini-issues. Muertitos classic has 117 pages and 6 issues. Similar ratio.Muertitos Keenspace has 20 issues and 550ish pages. Longer, but still 25-30 pages.Creamy Beamy is formatted more like a Manga. Vs. Bean Paste is 60 pages long, Gratuitous Bathing is 90 pages long, and the last one is 140.
No comment on Intragalactic, it was wildely inconsistent and didn't make a distinction between bonus stuff and regular stuff. It also ended really suddenly.
Just, for context, the absolute longest Reiko story was 21 pages(22 for that single issue revival that's lost).Longest Muertitos story in the reboot was, like, 40ish, and that one was an outlier. Same with Intragalactic, Ivy was the longest and it was around 40 pages.Meanwhile Creamy Beamy breaks into the triple digits.
Here's this 3d bee girl. This design showed up like...a ton, in all the authors stuff, but there were some aliens using the design in the epilogues and some guys show up next chapter so it counts.
Oh and this recently discovered one
And this one from November 2011
>>144202004Sure, no shade intended to be thrown. There's merit in never letting your stuff outlive its welcome, no matter how much the audience wanted more. I guess what really bugs me is that Sakurai had the longevity and the raw talent that she could've made the closest thing to an "epic" the fetish could've had, if only she'd had the druthers to. It can't be helped.
Oh and another Cheesecake.Alright, gnight. Keep the thread alive. If it dies I'm not coming back for another 2 weeks and it'll be Muertitos I do next instead. There will be no Creamy Beamy for anyone
>>144203692Given how long both Reiko and Muertitos lasted I feel like Creamy Beamy was a bit of a victim of circumstance.Note that the Puzztool art is dated August 2007. The first page was a teasar from September 2005 and the comic proper started in November 2005. This thing came out really damn quickly.Flying Suit Reiko got out like 440 pages in about 26 months so Creamy was pretty well on track to that(especially if you account for the fact the first 50 or so Reiko's were redraws, and that comic as a whole looked kinda eh)The third arc noticeably plummeted in output in late 2008-early 2009, even after Muertitos ended in mid 2008.This is when Intragalactic started. Then at the end of the year she FINALLY got that SLG deal she always wanted and started writing Peppermint Penwell. Then she got a second deal and started doing Widgey Q Butterfluff(both of those are lost at the moment).I don't blame her for chasing the SLG dream(she tried that once before in 2003-2004 with the Reiko revival, it failed, she moved on). I also don't blame her for starting IntraGalactic, that only happened after Muertitos ended, she had handled two webcomics before just fine(though IntraGalactic was in color and thus took more effort by default).I think this confluence lead to horrific burnout which ultimately destroyed both Creamy Beamy and IntraGalactic and lead to Steph going quiet for 3 years until the 2014 Patreon launch, which was never really the same(The longest comics she ever did there, Sensible Girl and Uninvited Ghosts, are both in the 70 page range. Nothing, The latter is just wrapping up now actually).Starting Intragalactic before she knew about the SLG deal made sense, Muertitos was done, there was an opening. Same with taking the deal, that had been on her mind for years. They want two? This could be the big break to go pro. I get the temptation. It just backfired. Creamy Beamy proper was planning to be ended after 3 arcs and epilogues anyway.
>>144203863>(both of those are lost at the moment)By "lost" do you mean just not on the internet? Because I have a physical copy of Widgey and I didn't think it was particularly rare.
>>144203863I'd argue while Creamy Beamy was robbed of more content and potential(There were talks in 2007-2008 about a planned sequel series. Not much info on it, any forum posts were lost to time, but the general consensus is it either would have involved Vanilla and the Sucran Armada invading Earth after Banana went dark, or the inverse, the gang going to space to fight a war to liberate Sucra and eventually take down Vanilla or even the Homeworld Empress.), Intragalactic technically got screwed harder(Creamy Beamy got an ending, even if it was a bit gainax. Intragalactic just up and ended mid issue)Also, while I don't know of any 'artist-authors' on the level of Stephanie Cherrywell, nor do I know any comedic authors in the genre with her chops, f you can settle with just 'author' and want some 'epics' with good writing I'd look into one "Marlow" on Dimensions.
>>144203945Not on the internet. Spray that thing for silverfish or scan it or something. It's out of print
He ain't no artist, but he knows how to write shit.https://www.dimensionsmagazine.com/members/marlow.85651/
>>144203863>>144203968Yeah, that's the real tragedy of it, looking back. Of anyone in the scene at the time (or since, if I'm honest), Steph really deserved to move on up to bigger leagues. I can't fault her for taking that leap forward when it presented itself, even with hindsight and knowing that it wasn't going to pan out. In a better world, it would've. You hint at my point, in a way. Everything she did was robbed, in a way, because she would've done gangbusters with anything she'd stuck to long term. There wasn't a comic she put out that I stopped before she did.
>>144199589You know it, buddy
>>144199265Her "here comes the airplane" routine is hilarious in the context that her parents are cargo cultists
>>144204066And the fact that it went quite smoothly the previous time and didn’t fuck anything up was proof it could. Dystopia got stuck in production hell after a move(this is June 2003), she took a break, then had to deal with the website divorce and Axel RoseRed taking the kids I mean his half of the website. Then she heard about an opening, spent more time then usual making the FSR Revival look really good, released that in February 2004, waited a bit, it didn’t work out, Muertitos revival that fall since she had more ideas for that and was done with Dystopia. That Muertitos revival lasted 4 years and nearly 600 pages.I think the bad timing was that Stephanie genuinely had a lot of great ideas for IntraGalactic and started it since there was now space with Muertitos gone…and within a couple months she gets a new SLG deal. Had that deal happened 6 months prior IntraGalactic never would have happened as it would be eating up the time, Creamy Beamy would never end up on the back burner. At the pace things had been going prior, Arc 3, as long as it was, should have been done by late 2008 - early 2009 and then had it’s epilogues and bonus content wrapped up soon after, plenty of time to start a sequel series once things calmed down.Instead SLG came after Intragalactic was going, and then they added on a second request. Horrible, horrible timing. Creamy Beamy ended up on the backburner, years tick by, inspiration wells burn dry, the webcomic crash of 2010 that killed most things not named homestuck or penny arcade or xkcd happened. Creamy Beamy was not in a good spot. Intragalactic neither.I’m sure burn out to some degree would always happen, but I doubt it would be to the same violent degree it was IRL to the point she’d never do a full length webcomic again despite being around a decade after the Patreon launched. But regardless, I’m glad she got the deal. That had been her dream for years. Not many people get that.
>>144204255Make /co/ cake aGain
These storytime threads are very indirectly the reason /co/ fat threads got unbanned in May.The first one of these (2020 or 2021, pandemic can’t tell) when the ban was relatively new and at its worst was where what would later become The Order of the White Rabbit was founded(a group of /co/ anons united in self policing and patrolling /co/ threads, stopping bad elements from within and keeping out raiders from without)They spawned in one of these threads and would use them as yearly meeting grounds to discuss how things were going. (I know, I joined in 2022).The Order broke up the fat raiding groups left over by the failed /fat/ movement TummyTuesday Anon started as well as the people left over from FDTGs shenanigans which had caused the ban in the first place. The Order is the reason they no longer exist. Then The Order drove out a group of thread raiders, an IRL spammer, a pair of musclefags, this one psychotic puritan crusader larper named The Cure. (I was there for that part). And then with most of the active threats dealt with they spent a year making stealth threads and trying to stop trouble makers in their cradle until finely in May the mods dropped the ban and some chat logs from Rizon indicate it was thanks to the policing actions of The Order. They’ve mostly pivoted to archival work although they still keep up thread policing. Most recently they went after this Roxyanon who was causing trouble. The Order’s been falseflagged a bit which has hurt their reputation, but it all started here. They picked Cheesecake(The White Rabbit) as a mascot partially because these threads birthed The Order, partially because she’s a /co/ architect the mods would never recognize and Brosnanposting was being cracked down on hard in 2021, and partially because Stephanie was known for her subtly in her writing compared to most. Being subtle and not loud and stupid was specifically what we wanted to encourage so it was fitting. And now, here we are. FatIsBack.
>>144196600By far the best one of his strips, and I'm not even a white rabbit.Reiko was a tad on the meh side, both art and story wise. And Muertito was just... forgetable.

I like most of the cast. Cheesecake was kind of funny at first, but she's a character type that only really works in small doses. I ended up finding her obnoxious as a result, bordering on hateable.

Nothing odd here
I was about to ask how they ended up here, but I suppose that answers that.I guess a scene where they're at home, she asks about the dumb ads, Chintarou describes at as brainwashing or something and Banana immediately misinterprets him and drags him into drag-the scheme would have taken too long? Would have been cool
Well, here we go.(I was about to ask why we didn't get a Puzztool transformation scene, but uh...no mouth. Where would they put the instant monster pill?)
HeteroDan hath become Hete-Rodan! And in record time for one of these monsters(way earlier than the last two, and for good reason)

Anyway, seeing as the Author/Artist Stephanie Sakurai Cherrywell retired 12 hours ago, finished her last comic and took the Deviantart down, these two threads are now Steph generals.Do all your image posting in the other thread, but try to discuss non-image stuff in her for a bit.
