4+ million years ago sounds cooler. Plus if you say it is only thousands of years ago, it becomes expected to do the "ancient Transformers influencing humanity" thing which is more common outside the original G1 cartoon. Cyberverse had it for 65+ Million years solely to accommodate Grimlock.

Shut up you stupid fucks. Your ass is left alone for millennia on a planet with nothing but psycho's hunting you in an eternal war run by a madman, how good of a mood would you be in when you just randomly pop in on your supposed leader who has been absent forever?

She's not a bitch, you're a bunch of dumb fucks who don't realize ANYONE would be fucking angry in that situation.

That said Carly has a right to be an asshole because dumbfuck Cliffjumper didn't shoot Starscream when he had the chance, the rest of the Autobot's got her friend crippled, and her dad got popped like a zit and this all happened in a few days.

It may be months for us but remember in the comics shit is happening at a rapid pace for her, and teenage girls are dumb and angry.

>>144454543
Yeah. People are unreasonable for much less.
I think jazz might die from this but i think cliff is going to live and be MUCH harsher. Especially towards prime.
I think now we're going to get the gungho cliff instead of the softer one we have now.
Also we don't know why prime launched the ark this time. It was for the good of cybertron he said.
So was it an energy mission again, or was it him trying to get megatron off the planet?
The autobots fucking suck. Every time the cons lose megatron the bots still fucking lose BAD to the remaining forces. Its not a prime issue just the autobots fucking sucking.
>>
>>144455290
It's always been an issue in most TF continuities where Optimus is propped up so much that once he goes down or goes missing the Autobots fall apart while if Megatron does the same then you still have Shockwave, Soundwave, or even Starscream take over. Very rarely will fiction let Ultra Magnus take over or have Hot Rod/Rodimus lead competently and US fiction completely ignores the leaders that came after Op in the JP G1 shows (or worse yet fuck them over with terrible versions like IDW1 Star Saber).
>>
>>144447130
>>144447146
It's a really interesting contrast between Soundwave, who is genuinely moved by Earth's beauty and wildlife, and Shockwave, who recognizes the beauty and majesty and just wants to fucking make a smoothie out of it. I really hope Soundwave gets Ravage repaired, but it's hard to sympathize with him too far.

Is DWJ only on for the first dozen issues or did I hallucinate that?
>>
>>144447181
So how does this work, physics speaking? Earth's tides must be at the very least messed up but shouldn't the orbit of the moon & earth also be compromised?
>>
>>144450085
Cool. Thanks for sharing
>>
>>144447146
I have no idea how this is helping the Decepticons' goals at all, but Shockwave's glee at putting whales into a giant blender is as fun as watching him tombstone Optimus was.
>>
>>144456930
Apparently whale smoothie makes for energon potent enough to teleport the whole fucking planet over, which honestly seems like a waste in of itself but who am I to judge?
>>
>>144447096
I want to like this, but beyond the absurdity of his energon levels holding out for millions of years as he stares at the Earth, the Apollo missions were EXTREMELY careful about weight. No way an Cybertronian his size would let them still lift off. I'm not the only one to point it out, but it bears repeating for how absurd it is.

And that's relative to a series about giant fighting alien robots.
>>
>>144447130
>"Shockwave will have much interest in your fleshy parts."

>>
>>144455719
I hope Soundwave continues beating the shit out of anyone who mistreats his cassettes just because I find the idea of a continuity where Soundwave ends up the leader because he murders everyone who mistreats his cat is hilarious.

Especially Shockwave because Shockwave just seems to get away with endless amounts of retardation in the comics without anyone killing or beating the shit out of him early on.

"We're floating in the ocean of space, so I'll just kick my feet and swim my way home!"

Honestly it's the best they could come up with. I mean given their strength he probably could have escaped just by jumping towards the Earth but reentry would have been a bitch. I suspect for added symbolism the original plan was for Beachcomber to assume the alt mode of a moon buggy, but they're pretty bare bones and also were ditched on the moon to save weight. Still could have been done, but for story compression purposes I imagine anything like that would be cut.
>>
>>144458357
It's funny because when their hydroelectric generator is damaged in the dam fight, there's a bot on the slab that looks a lot like beachcomber, which makes me wonder if they hadn't committed to where to put him yet. Then again, I remember some hawkeyed anon noticing him hiding in the greenery in I think the issue before he came back for real.
>>
>>144458223
What if Soundwave tries to get payback on Shockwave at the same time as Thundercracker finds out what really happened to Skywarp, and the Decepticons just collapse into infighting, not knowing a blind, armless Megatron is lost in the ice and snow, and Starscream's probably not dead.

>not knowing a blind, armless Megatron is lost in the ice and snow
I think he's tied up in the Cobra Commander comic. Cobra-La found him and CC was studying him before pretty much being kicked out. He has insecticons for that reason, presumably.
>>
>>144458460
Megatron recently got free and went on a rampage. I do believe his eyes were damaged before he Hulk smashed his way out of Cobra-La. He's now free and working his way towards his growing shitlist of people he needs to seriously hurt.
>>
>>144458529
It was in the FCBD issue, I think. Megatron fought Golobulus and lost his other eye, but he escaped. That possibly leads into the scene of him frozen on the side of a mountain an earlier issue of Transformers.

People can be excused for not realizing it. It was in a one-off Energon Universe 2024 special that also details how Megatron wound up in his sorry state. Guess who is to blame for that?

Go read Devilman. Alternatively

The final scene of Devilman is the antagonist talking to the protagonist after the final battle while they lay on the ground. The panel eventually zooms out to reveal the protagonist is dead, only his upper torso remaining.

I think the bigger issue here is Elita being very confrontational towards Optimus from word go. This was their first conversation together in a long time, and there's no sense of catching up, sharing a laugh, or even remorse for what happened all this time.

Granted, he's been sleeping on another world while she's fought for eons on Cybertron, but you'd still expect her to be glad Optimus was alive AT ALL. For all she knew, he could've been dead for good and her efforts would've been wasted on a dead home.

Instead, we get a scene dedicated to blaming Optimus for his homeworld's downfall without ever considering how fortunate that Megatron isn't there while also speeding through a retread of 'Ultimate doom'.

At best, you'd just need a simple rewrite, and a little magic trick called 'SLOW THE FUCK DOWN!'
>>
>>144455680
Because who the hell wants those jokers to take over as leader of the Autobots, am I right? From what I heard, those guys are just wannabe Optimi with no sense of character or personally, therefore invalidating their entire existence.
>>
>>144458977
How many whales to fix up Megatron, Skywarp and all Soundwave's tapes?
How many whales to resurrect Reflector?
Shockwave needs to start asking the important questions here.
>>
>>144459384
>From what I heard
So you're not actually familiar with Ultra Magnus and Rodimus, let alone any of the leaders from Japanese G1? But you've got strong opinions anyway?
>>

I just lament that the dune buggy doesn't get to become a moon buggy to sneak a ride back to Earth. I admit it would take up too much space in the story since he'll have to deal with one of the original moon buggies to take its place. Also might be easier for people to ignore that the buggies were ditched on the moon.

I'm feeling really strong marvel-era influence on these comics, I feel it really strongly when you see close-up, detailed expressions of pain on the bots, but the poses and those particular kinds of head-tilts put me in mind of it too. I could be imagining it, but I feel like it's there.

I'm not a huge fan of the new Transformers run. It's still extremely casual with the murder of characters. Poor goddamn Jetfire. "Thanks for helping us buddy, we've going to use your barely alive body as our personal transport. Oh shit, we're going down, bail out!"

And a lot of these aren't even straight deaths, they're more like torture porn for robots. Skywarp patched into Teletraan, Ultra Magnus being carted around, then dumped on the floor still grievously wounded while Wheeljack says he needs a moment. Then weirdly at the same time we get shit like Beachcomber passively resisting through Astrotrain leaving a gaping wound, but then this issue he's in robot mode just chained down and grump snarking.

To be fair, Ratchet was the medic, he would have been the one who could heal him. Wheeljack is the engineer. He not only learned a very close friend died, but he would have to be the one to do whatever it's going to take to help Magnus out. Also, BC emp pulsed astrotrain, i think he just wrenched open his door roughly, which might not be as grievous in robot mode given the kind of damage we've seen Optimus tank.

Based on Cybertron being teleported here and hints from the letter pages of the latest Void Rivals Issue it sounds like the Cobra-La Vessel is going to find the Sacred Ring first. We learned in that issue that the Ring is supposedly an Energon Factory/Generator, and Cobra-La was mostly interested in the fuel source anyway, so it looks like that's going to be the main thing people are going to be fighting about besides just turning Earth into fuel.

Japanese G1 is garbage.

>sacred ring
>teeming with energon
>cybertron is mobile
>cybertron might travel to these rings to refuel the planet
>merges with the rings
>still not enough fuel
>begin moving with ring to drain entire worlds of energy
>cybertron + ring is now Unicron

Ah, but you see, that right there is the problem, my friend. It might be cool to see that, but nobody wants to do it. Without Optimus, you have no Transformers. Therefore, it’s best to stick with familiar characters and not even attempt to touch anyone remotely obscure or semi popular with a ten foot pole.

Behold the magic of stagnation.

Ah ha! There you are! That’s what I’m talking about. Nobody wants Japanese G1 recycled and remixed for new audiences who might develop some attachment to them. No, they just want yet another version of Optimus Prime, and maybe ten more Arcees as well. Brand synergy and recognition matter more than quality, after all.

Whatever the case, I don’t have any hope for Elita. It’d be alright if she died in this Arc.

wowee lets kill Galvatron with a magic rainbow circle. such quality!

>Megatron letting a squishy live after he gives him what he wants
Huh, not who I expected to be the one to influence the other Decepticons into having a sense of honor

They don't.

Cliff was fine after this, he just got dazed.

That was my point.

I rather like it. The moment the guy gives Megatron what he wants to know the guy is inconsequential, and why waste any more time on the flesh creature? The only thing I'd prefer is that he not even bother saying he's letting it live, but I can accept that was more for our benefit so we know the asshole survived without having to actually show it.

>>144461752
nta but being dazed is still being affected, right? This ain't the JJverse where the Transformers wade through military grade shit like the soldiers were fire tickle rounds (at least until they used sabot).

I guess, but even then it's only Cliffjumper (tied with Bee for being the second smallest characters besides the cassettes) that really seems to be affected at all by small arms fire. A rocket did take off Optimus' arm though.

And also I agree on Megatron ignoring the Cobra-la guy once he became irrelevant. Feels like G1 cartoon Megatron that was generally grounded enough in his villainy to not get distracted with wanton sadism. Only getting caught up in the thrill of the slaughter when it was personal or had to do with an actual task or battle significant enough to not be beneath his attention (plus I liked how he always gave a sincere "excellent" to his fellow Decepticons whenever they got the job done). Makes it more believable that he works as a leader and cunning manipulator rather than just a brute that can only respond to every scenario with wasteful violence.

>and why waste any more time on the flesh creature
Well that's the thing, it's a flick of the wrist and no time at all, which is what makes Starscream so fucking giddy, but Megatron didn't care for it even after being hung out to dry for so long. It's interesting to say the least.

They could do an interesting thing with making Beachcomber the character Spike bonds most with instead of Bumblebee for a change. It would work with Spike as a more gun shy, damaged person now.

This. In an old film it'd be a "so glad you're alive kiss" followed by the "but where the fuck have you been slap"

I've been wondering if he was now dead dead or what. They really just forgot about him and not a word was said

Given that they were able to patch him enough to fly but not "see" it opens up some possibilities of a human piloting a transformer corpse
