Aggressively mid. It really didn't need to have Jin or any other canon characters in it and definitely would have been better if it were just new characters having their own separate adventure, which is sort of what it feels like it was supposed to be, anyway. It reads like the author just wanted to do her own thing but was self-aware enough to realize nobody would buy it so she piggybacked on the popularity of a known IP.

As for the actual content... nothing really stuck with me. I read it maybe a week ago? Two weeks? And I couldn't for the life of me tell you what happened in the last half of the book, that's how little an impression it left. Basically the Jin we see in the show is a fake personality she puts on to get Zuko to talk to her and the "real" Jin is some earthbending girlboss.
