Dialogue bubble placement, how far zoomed in a face is, slight expression differences.For dramatic purpose or out of laziness, taeshi will sometimes just not draw characters that SHOULD technically be on the page, so erasing them out of panels when they're not needed would be another thing they might do in edited versions.
