I know Gumball is made in Britain but does it really count if it was made for America and set in America and voiced by people who are either American or using an American accent?
It would be like saying Kappa Mikey is a Japanese cartoon.
>>
>>
>>152414789
eh it depends on how proud of their heritage the creator is
>>
>>152414294
Gumball was a britbong show?
>>
>>152414789
There was at least one episode where Nicole's voice slipped out of the US accent.
>>
>>152414294
Eh, from what I've seen their animated stuff is a little too soft or dull in execution.
>>
>>152414294
Little Monsters. The book series and tv show was basically Mr. Men and Little Miss but with grade schoolers.
>>
>>152415778
ye actually; the creator is apparently British

El Barto if you are not British why do you like em so much?
My biggest problem with British cartoons is the character designs are so ugly or just bland.

>>152416375
That looks like Mike, Lu And Og style. Where's that artist who always likes the draw em?

There was a good Australian cartoons thread a while back, not sure if you saw it:
https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/146311259

Trying to find it I found this from you:
https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/148066471
>just got off the phone with someone at fanatagraphics
Did you really call them? Why?
> turns out the pepper ann comics sourced from the Australian disney adventures magazine uses provisional lettering
I know you posted an example but what does that mean?
>>
>>152426959
...hey wait, I scrolled down the thread. An animation historian commented on your art? Context?
>>
>>152426989
dunno whether it was cuz' bluesky was that small but david gerstein commented on my work
>>
>>152427072

...then i repsonded back, then he responded, and then we took it to DMs and then whatever
>>
>>152427072
I dunno who he is but it must be so humbling to get commented on, by someone who works in the industry. It should make you feel like you "made it" with your artwork.

>>152427206
Is the drawing you made here mentioning some book david worked on, did he mention Pepper Ann in some high regard?
omg the thumb is on the wrong side! Right in front of the pro!

Questionable color choices. Again so heavy on the red and black like Dennis here.
>>152427663
Like the Brits can't do color well either.
>>
>>152427734
Another show that deals with a kid drawing, made in the 70s, revived in the 2000s (not sure if it was Canandian market only, the 2nd series).
>>
>>152424776

Do you remember any of these intros:

>>
>>152428000
Holy SHIT I forgot about Captain Star. I've seen many of these since I assume they were co-pros with Canada. Or maybe some were Canadian and aired in Britian.
Anatole and James Bond Jr I remember airing on US networks, Saturday mornings.
>>
>>152428000

The problem with a UK focused thread on 4chan is that maaaaaany of these cartoons never aired in the US. Britain stuff aired in its homeland, Canada, other parts of Europe, sometimes Latin America, but much of it is unknown to US people.

Which is a shame because some of these series are quite charming, like pic rel. Very comfy.

It's not like leafs and brits dont use 4chan. But Canada has a tiny population compared to America. So if a British show aired there, and many cartoons and live action shows did air in Canada in the day on various channels, there is going to be a smaller amount of people who remember all those shows. Canada is linked to Britain - I aint no history biff though. But as said they share programming.
