discuss/draw british cartoon characters here
>>152414294danger mouse and horrid henry are missing.
>>152414332'll mebbe the artist wanted t'spotlight some of the more underrated ones...and gumball
>>152414294Frakenstein's cat>British and french productions can we make it....but is cute girl want to fuck.
>>152414294I know Gumball is made in Britain but does it really count if it was made for America and set in America and voiced by people who are either American or using an American accent? It would be like saying Kappa Mikey is a Japanese cartoon.
>>152414789eh it depends on how proud of their heritage the creator is
>>152414294Gumball was a britbong show?
>>152414789There was at least one episode where Nicole's voice slipped out of the US accent.
>>152414294Eh, from what I've seen their animated stuff is a little too soft or dull in execution.
>>152414294Little Monsters. The book series and tv show was basically Mr. Men and Little Miss but with grade schoolers.
>>152415778ye actually; the creator is apparently British

>>152414294
>>152418773why did garth make his gnasher equivalent white
>>152416375ngl they kinda look like smooth rugrats
Would it be fair to call "Thomas & Friends" THE quintessential British cartoon?
>>152416375British Rugrats
fish n chips
Oi lads!Haven't you forgot about him?
>>152421352…and hush puppies, don’t forget about those
>>152414294El Barto if you are not British why do you like em so much?My biggest problem with British cartoons is the character designs are so ugly or just bland.>>152416375That looks like Mike, Lu And Og style. Where's that artist who always likes the draw em?>>152421433Ugly.
>>152420450
count duckula was pretty fun
>>152414294Shaun the sheepFor me it's the episode where the fat sheep gets hiccups. And Mr bean the animated series as well.
>>152421433
>>152422965honestly British (and also Australian) culture fascinates me alot
>>152424776Yo he just got naked! Is that mouse an adult?
>>152426575There was a good Australian cartoons thread a while back, not sure if you saw it: https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/146311259Trying to find it I found this from you:https://desuarchive.org/co/thread/148066471>just got off the phone with someone at fanatagraphicsDid you really call them? Why?> turns out the pepper ann comics sourced from the Australian disney adventures magazine uses provisional letteringI know you posted an example but what does that mean?
>>152426959...hey wait, I scrolled down the thread. An animation historian commented on your art? Context?
>>152426989dunno whether it was cuz' bluesky was that small but david gerstein commented on my work
>>152427072...then i repsonded back, then he responded, and then we took it to DMs and then whatever
>>152427072I dunno who he is but it must be so humbling to get commented on, by someone who works in the industry. It should make you feel like you "made it" with your artwork.>>152427206Is the drawing you made here mentioning some book david worked on, did he mention Pepper Ann in some high regard?omg the thumb is on the wrong side! Right in front of the pro!
I feel like a nonce looking at this.
no one watches these shitty cartoons so stop bumping.
>>152427384It's ok if you self-insert as one of the boys.
I see it was also a book series.
What a drama queen!
>>152427486>>152427465Oh I guess those should be reversed.
Uh...
>>152427604Its even worse than I pictured...
Questionable color choices. Again so heavy on the red and black like Dennis here.>>152427663Like the Brits can't do color well either.
>>152427734Another show that deals with a kid drawing, made in the 70s, revived in the 2000s (not sure if it was Canandian market only, the 2nd series).
>>152424776Not only is that mouse not an adult, it'd not a boy either.
Art style isn't exactly good. Very flat.
Check out her hose.
Floatin.I'd love to see an artist work this design into something that doesn't look like ass.
Here she learns how to blow bubbles
Do you remember any of these intros:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fbm6aZiuL7I
>>152428000Holy SHIT I forgot about Captain Star. I've seen many of these since I assume they were co-pros with Canada. Or maybe some were Canadian and aired in Britian.Anatole and James Bond Jr I remember airing on US networks, Saturday mornings.
>>152428000Never heard of this one, but I like the design.
>>152417454
I remember this show, Pond Life. Had lots of talking in it.
Well, what are you waiting for?
Holy shit, looool
The problem with a UK focused thread on 4chan is that maaaaaany of these cartoons never aired in the US. Britain stuff aired in its homeland, Canada, other parts of Europe, sometimes Latin America, but much of it is unknown to US people.Which is a shame because some of these series are quite charming, like pic rel. Very comfy.
>>152427370yep:
>>152428321IIRC tho I think Rupert aired on Nick. Also it was made by Nelvana (rip), Canadian studio.
>>152428335Is this OSM book available for free to read? Were you actually old enough to remember watching OSM? I loved that shit. Sad when I discovered the entire set was a green screen.
>>152428355prolly; lookit up on some comic reading website
>>152428537I thought you had a download link.
Kind like Rosie the dog here.Designs are very cut and paste but she cute
>>152428573https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLLqyiIAvDsJac9bd90K0lFRzkgidy6UIz
>>152428559nah i just got a pic from RCO
>>152427712>>152427734Think for a sec she could've been Henry's mother.
>>152429940they have appeared in the same picture:
>>152427451We've finally found them, the britfags
>>152430106El Barto have you drawn any British cartoons?
>>152430134sure did:(ngl tho dataizm totally has me beat in that aspect)
>>152428321huh, that tells me a lotmebbe i'd get more luck on /int/ or sumth
>>152430656It's not like leafs and brits dont use 4chan. But Canada has a tiny population compared to America. So if a British show aired there, and many cartoons and live action shows did air in Canada in the day on various channels, there is going to be a smaller amount of people who remember all those shows. Canada is linked to Britain - I aint no history biff though. But as said they share programming.
>>152430977*back in the day*history buff
>>152427486jeez, the illustrations make 'im look like a totally different person
>>152431195The book style was incredibly cute, and I like it when it gets used for fan art
