Absolutely screams that Hickman didn't know Marvel was cutting it short, and was intended to be picked up by someone else. But even what did occur just felt like half baked ideas for the most part. We did dick with Venom Richard, Otto getting fucking powers came out of nowhere and never was commented on again, and the most daring changes from Harry and Gwen feel pointless nowEditorial really didn't know what to do with Ultimates. I liked (some) of this series and all but unfortunately it will just go down in the history books as a flash in the pan short weird experiment the premise was interesting and if it actually delivered it could have been one of the coolest spidey books in the past two decades the every issue is a month thing killed it so hard plus way too much focus at times on secondary/tertiary characters not to mention decompressed storytellingyou guys are gonna shit on me for saying this but I still prefer bendis ultimate peter's run.
