Gallionic is never coming out, is it?
Bung’s downfall has permanently buckbroken SCP animated content, which can now only be classified as BB (before bung) and AB (after bung). Nothing that came before or after Confinement has ever come close to it. >Lord Bung has become a sort of mountain, appearing in all subsequent SCP animations in the way that Mt. Fuji appears so often in Japanese prints. Sometimes it’s big and up close. Sometimes it’s a shape on the horizon. Sometimes it’s not there at all, which means that the artist either has made a deliberate decision against the mountain, which is interesting in itself, or is in fact standing on Mt. Fuji
>>153315262>Bung’s downfall has permanently buckbroken SCP animated content,... Sigh. Okay but WHY though? In hindsight, Confinement really isn't that great. It's 8 episodes of wanking a self insert OC. Yes, it spotlighted some lesser known skips, but as an actual story it's pretty mid.
I'll be honest, I'm tired of all the SCP adaptations focusing on some normie OC. This is the SCP Foundation, and should be focused on the SCPs, dammit. And don't give me your made up reasons why you supposedly can't have anomalous protagonists. Where's my Alpha-9 cartoon?
>>153315262I know where that original quote is from
>>153315374On its own it’s mid, in fact it’s kind of bad. But compare that to other SCP animations, it’s a huge fish in a tiny pond>WHY though? It is a really weird mystery. Before bung, SCP animation was deviantart tier rubbish.During bung not much changed until SCP in general got exposed to normies and you have this animation renaissance with stuff like Dr Bob and Tales from the Forndation had stuff like which come close to Confinement’s quality. After bung there was an explosion of wannabe successors all of which were flops. Then the renaissance era channels all fell off or had severe downgrades or just cancelled.I guess now with stuff like Gallionic people are trying to completely divorce themselves from Confinements legacy. Something you’ll notice with nearly all SCP animations is that their artstyle to some degree resembles Bung. Gallionic (if it ever comes out) will be the first to stray from this tradition
>>153315567>Something you’ll notice with nearly all SCP animations is that their artstyle to some degree resembles Bung. Gallionic (if it ever comes out) will be the first to stray from this traditionThis is one of the reasons I'm rooting for Gallionic. I don't get why Bung's style became the default. Like, I'll be the first one to point out that SCP was NEVER purely horror focused, but it's still a bit irksome that nearly every animation seems to want to be lighthearted. The main appeal of this whole thing is the variety of tone. Let's get some balance going.
I always prefered bungs OC content over the SCP crap, it was half animated show and half vlog commentary channel about some topic that is easy to criticize and I never seem anything quite like it.I even like the idea of copying at some point but the formula of how hes done is elusive. The SCP stuff was good because it felt closer to an actual TV show, it had an narrative, it was long and connected. It really felt like something it would be on TV at some point, even if it was crappy at times. Anything else is bad because the level of quality is always inferior.
>>153315374>but WHY though?Confinement at the time felt like a late night adult swim show from the 2000's It scratched a certain itch
Not to sound mean and petty, but I can't help but feel like most people making SCP animations are secondaries who are only familiar with the surface level elements, and aren't really IN there. Like, these aren't people who are knowledgeable about the various canons and whatnot. You don't see no cartoons about Ressurection, On Guard 43, S&C Plastics, Pitch Haven, Undervegas, Dread & Circuses, etc. Hell, not even Antimemetics Division, which is the one normies do know about. I don't know, I just think it's kind of sad that it's always so non-specific.
Iris, my beloved.
>>153315077LET ME BE A TOASTER
>>153315077They were successfully funded on Kickstarter and animators from anime studios are involved. We just have to be patient.
>>153315467How does it feel that a 3D furry porn maker does more to represent SCP in joke skits than serious projects with budgets and goals? No really, Im asking. I have mixed feelings about SCP stuff so I dont know how to articulate it.
>>153315467Same here. I'd love to see an Alpha-9 story. At the same time, I also want to see some KO stories, like something involving Dinodon's Hand (the Korean branch of the Serpent's Hand). Then there's D.C. Al Fine with the GOC. There are just so many great characters that have the potential for amazing stories. I think people are just more focused on the horrific monsters and overlook the actual world of the SCP universe and its people.I mean, you can always combine the two: the horror and the people in it. The world is filled with terrifying encounters, but it's also filled with people who try to survive, conquer, destroy, or/and understand it. From reality benders, folklore entities, magicians, and researchers, to unholy eldritch concepts, memetic beings, and ancient war machinery. It's curious, vast, and terrifying. Is it hopeful? I don't know. Is it cruel? Maybe. But it is filled with stories. So many stories. Good, bad, old, new, monstrous, charming, mysterious, and knowing.
My hot take on SCPs is that humanoids are the most interesting ones. Monsters are fun and all, but anomalous people are actual characters. >>153317276See, you get it. One of the things that makes SCP so appealing is the many different facets and corners of the paranormal world. There's Florence Thorne of the UIU, and al the stuff going on in Three Portlands as another example. >picSomeone needs to write a story about Hoya getting over her racism against the fae. It's hilarious how she doesn't see the irony.
>>153315467Surprised they haven't done anything with SCP-507 as the protagonist.
>>153317506That IS weird. Guy is even one of the more well known humanoids. He's got a nice built in premise and everything.
>>153316507I'm surprised not a single project used the Scarlet King despite his popularity among secondaries. It seemed Confinement was going to use him for the demon connected to Connor, but leaked scripts revealed it was just another OC.
>>153317254>3D furry porn makerNTA but tell me more about it
>>153318028And the Scarlet King is one of the more straight forward major villains, even if you go by the Tufto's Proposal interpretation. Themes aside, he's still the fucking Devil. >It seemed Confinement was going to use him for the demon connected to Connor, but leaked scripts revealed it was just another OC.Oh, booo. At that point, why even bother with the SCP branding? History really hasn't been kind ot Confinement, and for good reason, honestly. It was destined to go to shit one way or another.
>>153317506I'm surprised no one has attempted to do an anthology SCP series. It's the most fucking obvious thing in the world, yet everyone either wants to do The Adventures of Original the Character (In The SCP World) or focus on one fucking article and that's that. Like fuck, even the shitty 50 vote articles could carry a 5 minute micro-animation, you know?
>>153318857RIGHT?! How is an SCP anthology not a thing? The premise is practically built for it. You can just pick one and make a short story with it. Hell, most of the really good ones already have a story attached to them, and could easily be adapted. Daleport(SCP-1936), Elephas cryopilus(SCP-2082), etc. Dark Side of the Moon(SCP-4220), etc. Alas, no. Baffling.
>Aye, it's 4/20! Totally worth the asthma.

I highly recommend the novelization of There Is No Antimemetics Division to any 4chan user in this thread, even those who feel disenfranchised by the way the wiki has been treated by the astroturfers. It’s genuinely good from start to finish. Red is my favorite monster.
>>153315077I hope not.
>>153316507Speaking personally, after Gamers Against Weed got ruined, it became very difficult for me to invest in any of that shit because there’s no obvious way of delineating the actual contents of those canons from shitposts or propaganda made by Tumblr Marxists. If you have a specific canon for us to start with and a link to a hub page, I’d be happy to check it out, but…
More like D.C Al -FINE-, amirite?
>>153315077>Secure the CP Foundation I don't know why it's so hard for someone to make an animated antology adapting SCP's or tales instead of writing fanfiction with their own OC's as the protagonist or terrible fucking comedy. Also, this RPC short BTFO's a lot of SCP animations. I said it.

I have found the exact point that the SCP Foundation wiki became unusable forever. Anything worth reading beyond SCP-3999 got onto the wiki by accident. Holy fucking shit.
