You know, on reflection I feel like Pomni kinda accidentally repeated the same shit Jax's mother did that scrambled his brains in the first place.In 6 she makes a quick shift from affection to aggression, which is ironically exactly what Jax was (you'd think irrationally) anticipating and trying to avoid by immediately de-escalating to acting like they're strangers. And then in 9 after she's rifled through his memories, he's standing there in anticipation of being torn into and kicked while he literally couldn't be lower only for her to hug him instead.It would have been interesting if their relationship was explored more, especially Pomni's reasons for acting the way she does. The show can't decide if she's precious therapist supergirl, or if she's accidentally paving Jax's road to hell with her good intentions because she's putting her own need to feel like she's done right above his actual wellbeing.This is what's frustrating, there's material for like 10 fucking movies in this show, each equally compelling, but the actual end product is just a mishmash of competing concepts. Not in a way that feels complex and open to interpretation, but in a way that just feels internally inconsistent, noncommittal, and unfinished.
