Is it just me or /co/ feels rather empty? I don't know how to say it but there is none of the energy the board used to have, even the generals for the big ongoing shows like digital circus feel so lifeless compared to the same threads we used to have 12 years ago when the whole board was watching and enjoying one show(probably doesn't help that tadc doesn't even appeal to my tastes). What I miss the most is the creative and joyful side of /co/, where did all of that stuff go?
>>154022412>Is it just me or /co/ feels rather empty? It's been quite empty for a long time now.
>>154022412The creative side happens every Friday. As for WOYA, Bat Man's been replaced with Space Ghost.
dead site
>>154022433Not entirely, it's just gotten a lot more... latinx, if you know what I'm saying.
What ever happened to those Legion of Doom threads?
>>154022412The comics side of /co/ was carried by their being multiple ongoing people wanted to read combined with frequent and varied storytimes. The cartoon side of /co/ was carried by being piracy central for a cohort of young nerds lacking cable access. The former died when the amount of good books shrunk and the times made doing storytimes a pain. The latter died when the amount of community building and discussion creating shows (action and lore shows) shrunk. The truth of the matter is that the younger people with the time, energy, and ideas to make this place lively came for the free shit and then stuck around to eventually filter out into the various other threads because they were already here. That's gone not for a lack of piracy capability, but because the ammount of worthwhile content has decreased dramatically.
>>154022488>The cartoon side of /co/ was carried by being piracy central for a cohort of young nerds lacking cable access.I had cable access and I still preferred to pirate especially for episodes that I've missed.
>>154022488>That's gone not for a lack of piracy capability, but because the ammount of worthwhile content has decreased dramatically.This. There's just not many good comics or cartoons being made today.
Whole site feels dry nowEven on /aco/ theres threads from April still up getting 1 post every 4 hours I've been staying on /vg/ lately just to ham it up with game bros Threads all around feel the same
>>154022534>I've been staying on /vg/ lately just to ham it up with game brosLikewise, /emugen/ is the only place on this site that feels remotely alive anymore.
>>154022412I wasn't on this board twelve years ago. Did every thread back then degenerate into endless gooning?
>>154022543Fortnite general feels more /co/ than /co/ here Its nice
The creatives left /co/ because /co/ hated the creatives. Simple as that. And the joy filtered out as 4chan became more and more dominated by no fun allowed post-irony bullshit. Cartoons and comics are in a bad state nowadays but a lot of the failings here are self-made.
>>154022412Yeah it's definitely slowed to a crawl, every post hangs around for 3 or 4 days now
>>154022573Said it before and I'll say it again, /cog/ would solve all these problems. There's already a plethora of generals on ths board, so a whole board dedicated to /co/ generals would debloat this board by a metric ton.
the shutdown of the site gave an opportunity to a lot of people to just leave the site when they'd been meaning to for a long time.
>>154022590At this point if there was a /cog/ then /co/ would either halt to a standstill or exclusively be filled with gooner threads (interchanged with /pol/ bait threads of course).
>>154022590Yeah idk why gens arent allowed here when we have 7 Glitch threads at once sometimes I feel like video game threads are more engaging because its a shared activity that doesnt boil down to theory slop or "i want to fuck this character" for 300 posts
>>154022488>>154022515>>154022532That argument falls apart when other communities for comics and cartoons are still healthier than /co/
>>154022611We do basically have generals, hell, the BCB threads label themselves as a general outright.
>>154022412>All other boards has users bitching about the state of the site>/sp/ anons are still having funLol, get fucked, faggots
>>154022606Personally I'm not opposed o the idea of a slower /co/. It worked for /vr/, even if it's not as great of a board as it was pre-hack.
>>154022626Other communities tragically have a lower standard when it comes to the content they consume. If the shit coming out were things /co/ deemed worthwhile to make space for, people would come, but their isn't so we don't.
Fucking /d/ has better discussions on comics than here.
>>154022573it's decent if you can look past the dozens of schizos
>>154022638>have a lower standard when it comes to the content they consume.Nigga this is the board where the Sophia the First fandom originated from
>>154022635>o*to
>>154022626Where?
>>154022635I don't think it would've been a terrible idea a few years ago. Hell, my other main board is /ck/, literally one of the slowest fucking boards on 4chan. But I do kind of have to wonder if /co/ has anything to fill the space that the generals would leave behind. Like is it really worth making /cog/ if it's just making room for another twelve goon threads? Because realistically that's what we'd get. I might just be being pessimistic, though.
>>154022639Tfw have more fun One Piece discussions in their porn general on /trash/ than /a/ ever has
>>154022656It's a cesspool but...twitterThis goes for both comics AND cartoons
>>154022634I wish I was stupid enough to enjoy the cuckery of sportsball.
>>154022667Twitter sucks dude
>>154022669just need to down a whole lot of beer, I guess
>>154022669Yeah, I'm sorry (not sorry) you're a autistic loser.
>>154022660Heh, I'm quite optimistic on my end, because I have a feeling all that goonery may be confined exclusively to generals of shows that are already extremely popular. My personal assumption is that if /cog/ were to ever happen, I'd leave more room for less talked about /co/ media.
>>154022611>"i want to fuck this character" for 300 postsIt depends, there are vidya threads that are basically just that(usually for jrpgs or vns)
>>154022593Yeah, the shutdown basically got people to go away for good. The new captcha has been insufferable, too. It's a lot of effort and registration or whatever to make a post... when god forbid, you could go to Reddit for less work. I know that's forbidden here, but it's more active. But at least you can discuss a little bit.Not to mention there's no moderation here. Some schizo can take over any thread they want and it'll be days before anything is done about it.
>>154022674Yeah and it's still livelier than /co/The average person on comic twitter reads more than the average Anon hereWhy do you think threads are made now parroting some random twittard's post or reflects what asinine discussion they got themselves into?
>>154022680>I'd*it'd
>>154022678If it doesn't have a story it's pointless.That's why Rasslin' is kino.
>>154022412One thing that does not help this board is the horrible incompetent mods. Really hate how they do nothing about shit threads, especially furry threads. And don't go saying nothing, furries are still quite annoying twats the existence of trannies in animation doesn't stop furries from being annoying. Can't stand those bastards. The bad threads being enabled is a huge reason this board is barren now and blame the shit mods.
>>154022669Same I wish I could enjoy sportsLiked playing them as a kid obviously but watching 30 guys run left to right is insanely boringSportos seem to have fun with it
>>154022412New captcha system apparently is VERY range ban happy
>>154022680Well, man, I can't say I don't appreciate your optimism.
>>154022697>VERY range ban happySadly I know this from experience. My Deck got rangebanned while I was AFK.
>>154022644The baby show autists have been an ever-present insular group on the board for what feels like forever.I personally wish they weren't here but they also keep to themselves and don't typically try to fuck with the rest of the board But I will admit that the "higher standard" language was needless pretentious when "picky and used to a higher standard for tis old properties" would be a better way of putting it.But they do ironically reinforce my point. Those people consider that content worthwhile to engage with so they talk about it and in turn people come for that content, something that doesn't happen on most of /co/ anymore unless your named Batman or Spider-Man
>>154022686>The new captcha has been insufferable, tooDon't clean your cookies and the captcha will get faster after some time.
>>154022686>new captcha Hate that fucking thing. The new captcha is literally designed to annoy you until you get a 4chan Pass. It can be stupid easy toddler shit sometimes, but the other times I'm squinting through pages of squiggles trying to find the hyperspecific shape it matches. That's more of an overarching site issue though.
>>154022697Yeah I had this happen multiple times on /ck/ for no reason whatsoever. Surprisingly it seems to be less sensitive to it on /co/. No fucking idea why.
>>154022641Every general has local boogeymen and schizos But overall the gen can be cool compared to most>>154022685Because those games are boring!!!
>>154022697Speaking of which anyone else not get banned but rather get range blocks that stop you from posting under the random excuse of "abuse"? This shit is so annoying because you don't need to actually break any rules to catch this range block.
