It, and "Merry Melodies", were WB's copies of Disney's "Silly Symphonies" shorts, cartoons explicitly advertised to have music and sound. By the '30s and '40s, that was no longer a strong selling point. Animated stars became the selling point, so Disney dropped the branding. WB, for whatever reason, kept theirs, but it's just a legacy title. It doesn't mean anything in modern day. TTA was being developed as a film during the late '80s, around the time Who Framed Roger Rabbit came out and popularized calling animated characters "toons". Sometime after it's release, when TTA started being developed as a TV series, they swapped LT's "tune" for Roger Rabbit's "toon" and called it a day.
