Was Adventure Time that big back then?
>>
>>154254625
Yeah, it was huge until season 6.
>>
>>154254625
Goddamn, I miss the early to mid 2010s
Seeing Deadpool in theaters was a fun time
I wasn't even a kid then, I was well into my mid 20s but I miss these years
>>
>>154254625
It was one of the defining cartoons of the 2010s.
It unironically changed society and pop culture.
>>
>>154254625
Im more of a regular show guy but yeah it was the biggest cartoon not named spongebob.

It was literally a cultural phenomenon in the early 2010s.
>>
>>154254625
I feel like 2016 was when its popularity was winding down.
>>
>>154254651
5, really.
but it picked up again at 7

amazing time. I miss it so much. I should never have let myself get so excited, though. So DEPENDENT on it continuing to be good. I climbed the mountain without a safety harness. Still, I will always have the original show
and three of the specials.
>>
>>154254927
The real 'wall' most people hit was season 5, which was .. 2013ish? Because they had been CRANKING seasons out, back to back, no break. then suddenly they ran out, we had a break for the first time, AND it stretched out the poorly-written and misleading shit with flame princess, so... there was souring. Plus internet culture was rapidly turning against everything had formerly been about. Now suddenly people are calling some relationships 'problematic' or insuinating gay everywhere they look.

Its popularity didn't, though. Not until the original finale and following sequel spin-offs. Adventure Time hasn't felt this relevant in YEARS. It's crazy that Warner has any hesitation on moving forward with another F&C season or that movie that may or may not still be happening
>>
SHMOWZOW!
>>
yeah, the 2010s happened
>>
>>154254625
It was big enough here to have it's own draw threads

>>
>>154254625
As other people said, it absolutely was that big. It may not seem that way now, but abck then the style and writing felt very fresh and unique. There was also all the Mushroom War stuff - the idea that the entire story took place after the nuclear war felt very much in line with edgy fan theories ("everyone is actually dead and in hell", "the whole story is someone's coma dream") and creepypasta that were popular at the time, which made it all the more exciting to speculate about, and surprising when the show leaned into that.

It was fucking huge back then, depressing/pretentious lore slop and finn abuse literally killed the hype from being the next huge cartoon to being regulated to niche audience of die hard hipsters only
>>154254675
Ironically i hated much about the early 2010s at the time but id kill to go back. Their was at least some good things happening back then like the increase in good cartoons and their was still some hope for the future left
>>154254841
I wish i could fuck a marceline cosplayer
>>154255415
I dont blame WB, fionna and cake season 2 fell into the same pitfalls that ruined OG adventure time. Until they sack most of the writers that killed the shows appeal in the first place AT will never be good again.
>>
>>154254625
How is this a question?

I hate to say it but while ATs popularity in the early 2010s seems obvious to you and me we have unironic zoomers on here now that were 4 when adventure time first came out, maybe even some posters that were not even born when adventure time first premiered if they are underage

Its summer time here in amerishart land so theres defs more younger posters online at the moment. Young enough to still have been in diapers during when adventure time was in its prime and still watchable.

Yuge. Which is what made it so damaging to the youth when Rebecca Sugar was allowed to inject her homosexual fetish into it. Not to mention that the princesses prototyped female awfulness for the eager little viewers. Its a shame, because it started out as a fine boys' adventure.

i remember some band had a song called 'Scott Pilgrim'. also, an early 2000s (?) teen comedy (Judd Apatow or someone) had a character talk about EverQuest sometimes.

by the time of Adventure Time, the trend was basically reversed. a rock band or a Hollywood film would say memes. 'I'M THE JUGGERNAUT BITCH!' in X-Men 3 is now 20 years old, for example.

so i dunno, this is just like turning on the TV right now and some character has a Deadpool T-shirt. you wouldn't even clock it as 'a reference' or 'easter egg'.
>>
>>154259116
>one hour photo
I hate how relatable that movie is
>>
>>154259116
The song "Scott Pilgrim" by "Plumtree" is actually the origin of that name. Bryan Lee O'Malley explicitly used that name as a reference to that song and band.
>>
>>154258700
This only happened because retards thought that kids were getting fat because of how colorful and fun McDonald's presented itself and not because of retard parents buying fast food for dinner every other night.

Seeing actual appearances like this from properties the studio doesn't own unironically makes me soiface. Like in Ted where Jon was watching Spongebob
>>
>>154254625
To be fair, it's a big fish in a small pond.
Keep in mind, that the early 2010's is when CN also picked up The Annoying Orange. Tangently, Disney picked up Grumpy Cat and that 'Apparently' kid while Nick ended up with Fred.
The 2010's serves as an onset to animation studios' decline.

No. It was bigger

In neilsen terms it was only outdone by dragon ball z, the finale of total drama island, and the original CN movies

I want Deadpool with his undeath ability to annoy The Lich so much that he loses his cool for good.

I hate to admit it but i soifaced in the theater too when deadpool pulled out the adventure time watch. I dropped adventure time by the time deadpool came out but i didnt completely hate it because i intended to pick the show up again when it became good once more (it never did)

Rewatching it because it makes me happy with being nice and wonderful in general. You too should rewatch it and have a good day anon.

>and three of the specials.
See I didn't fancy the specials apart from together again.
Other than that season 6 really focused too much on everyone else.
>It's a BMO episode
I like BMO, I just don't like just BMO episodes.
