Why precisely did this show work?
>>
interesting premise and characters in a mostly well-executed story.

that's all you gotta do.
>>
>>154367123
elaborate bud
>>
>bright colors
>goofy animations
>porn level voice acting
>surface level writing

idk prob the porn or the ipad kids carrying the viewership
>>
>>154367061
Is a fucking dumbsterfire.
>>
>>154367061
I'd say the show's popularity is 90% appealing character designs.
>>
I dont know I'm never watching it
>>
Huge contributor was content farm channels thinking this was combining little kids content with mascot horror, so for them this was a goldrush to push TADC slop. This meant sharing their bot farms with TADC to further bloat their golden goose.
>>
>>154367172
>>porn level voice acting
The Portugese sobbing during the ragapom hug awakened something in me that I think should've stayed dormant.

The Amazing Digital Circus is only nine episodes, dude.

I think you should watch it
>>
>>154367061
It didn't.
>>
>>154369284
the merch sales prove otherwise...
>>
>>154369199
I ain't watching some dumb kids cartoon.
>>
>>154367061
The character design carried it
The lorebaiting helped
>>
>>154367172
This, it was carried entirely by phenomenal VA and animation work along with great artstyle. It also created a setting inspired by better works in the first 6 episodes and then proceeded to do absolutely nothing with said setting in its conclusion.
>>
>>154367061
Because all was a lie until the last episode, and it was like "it's too late to hate it now, the show is over, thanks to watch it all". Genius
>>
>>154367149
kek do your job hollywood analyst
>>
Pomni and Jax alone were primed to be the perfect tumblr sexyman/ flavor of the month goonbait that also hits the 'le clussy clowngirl xDD' note from episode one.

You didn't even NEED the lorebaiting mascot horror 'cute thing is actually le dark' autism but you add that and it was destined to succeed, and i didnt even bring up the VA work or the content farm or Glitch already being quite popular

Basically TADC launched with like 7 silver spoons in it's mouth
>>
>>154367061
The marketable kid-friendly character designs, merch, and the whole elsa-gating clickbait clone channels.
>>
>>154367149
I will elaborate in the hopes you are a Hollywood analyst
The characters are well designed to be visually appealing and marketable. The jokes are a mix of writing and visual gags.
There’s clearly a single creative managing the whole show, their creation, which gives it a sincerity you simply cannot get from the Hollywood crowd. They like what they are making and want to make it good. They treat the average watcher as intelligent and capable of understanding, divulging their themes without outright stating them. I can’t believe I’m saying this but it doesn’t get lost in the agenda.
I didn’t even like the series, it’s full of poorly directed scenes and incredibly bad writing, the ending was complete bullshit. But it’s still eons ahead of anything Hollywood has made in the last 5-10 years, so take notes.

because zoomers are super fucking gay

Because everyone held out hope that best girl Ragatha would get a compelling reason to be there but she never did so now the show is gonna fall off a cliff
>>
>>154367061
Lol I dunno
>>
>>154371500
How'd it manage that?
>>
>>154367061
because it had Jax and she made me realise I'm trans :3
>>
>>154367061
>fun characters
>fun situations
When the show was just about the adventures it was great, you'll notice the show took a nosedive at episode 7 when they plot started.
>>
>>154373443
combination of things but it draws heavily from internet culture which in an era of iPad kids is the culture
>>
>>154373758
Ah, okay.
>>
>>154367061
the mystery for the first couple episodes is what is the game they're playing and how did they get trapped? Then it became about the characters missing their real life and coping with being stuck, and then it turns out the game doesn't matter/they're clones anyways so the only appeal is the character relationships. But all we got was the Jax show. And the last episode revealed that everything bad that happened to him was his fault. I don't see myself rewatching this later
>>
>>154367061
It's a fun, fast-paced and well written story with great characters. Rare win for western animation

>well written
>>
>>154369461
It's more Adult Swim material, honestly.
>>
>>154367061
sincerity and great character writing imo
>>
>>154374831
Characters like Ragatha were hardly written at all.
>>
>>154374831
>sincerity
This. In an age of corporate slop people are fucking starving for anything with a modicum of sincerity and authenticity, no matter how clunky or awkward it is.
>>
>>154374748
Lemme guess they say damn every now and then
>>
>>154369461
All cartoons are for kids.
>>
>>154371537
Literally none of the characters beyond Kinger's original crew had a reason to be there.
No way in hell is a working computer and what looks like a prototype VR headset going to be left in an abandoned building for 20-ish years. Scrappers would be stripping the copper from the walls, and the computers are all going to be hocked or scrapped for their parts.

Goose is a terrible writer, with lots of intriguing ideas. Goose is trans JJ Abrams.
>>
>>154376252
Spawn is for kids?
>>
>>154376636
The comics that you think are edgy are unironically labeled for 12 year olds, so yes he is for kids who dream of being bigger, cooler kids.

>>
>>154376655
lol retard thinking 12 on cover means that's the upper limit
>>
>>154376713
Good question. Don't think one has presented themselves yet. Do you have a suggestion?

But I equate Goos to Abrams because look at Lost. That show had people abuzz for years about hidden meanings and theories about the smoke monster, only for everything to kind of fall apart in the end because Abrams kind of Lost interest.
>>
>>154367061
It didn't
>>
>>154367061
Because it just did, OKAY?!!
>>
Steven Universe effect. TADC caters hard to an emotional, and insecure audience that grew up online and the show has enough proficiency with it's pacing and presentation to cloak the plot holed story and logic needed to make it into a fully mature or realized series. It cuts corners on the whole to maximize the emotions. It's the weird middle child that happened to come out at the right place and time, when the majority of the population was raised with mental issues and complexes that are tranny adjacent, and the creator did what all trannies do, and made it extremely visually appealing to children, which doubles as extremely appealing to autists (ie the mentally ill). In short, it is exactly "of it's time," and when 100 years pass and the internet age ends, it will be looked at as a relic of a bygone era.

duality of anon
>>
>>154367061
Empathy
The show is not just jokes and humans trapped inside a circus trying to escape being tormented by a rouge AI.
It's about existentialism and finding themselves when humans have their own mental deficiencies
>>
>>154367061
Pomni so cute <3
>>
>>154367123
>well-executed
>>
>>154376157
Existential horror, what it means to be human and have free will, dealing with loss and grief.
You could show a kid (you obviously don't have one and never will) this show I guess, but you'll be traumatizing them lmao.
>>
>you'll be traumatizing them lmao.

>>
>>154367061
Babies watch it with all the colors. And the creator is a groomer who's an expert in grooming to rape them later with trans information
>>
>it's another chud obsessed with children and grooming under the guise of transphobia
>>
>>154383119
>Making fake claims
Did you not watch the movie in a physical theater? Most of the fanbase are kids. Being an autist in 4chan doesn't make you the target audience
>>
>>154379115
This, the alorithim appeal metioned earlier as well, but mostly this. Steven Universe also baited the audience in almost the same way, with brief spikes of maturity while the overarching plot went nowhere and the main characters stagnated into queer therapy blobs.
>>
>>154367061
Kids thought it was a kid show
Shippers thought it was a shipper show
Philosophers thought it was a philosophical show

Only suicidal trannies were right about it being a suicidal tranny show
>>
>>154367061
Because, shockingly, the Internet is full of people with low-functioning autism.
