is it real or overblown?
It's real since 2022 but you won't get an objective assessment from 4chan the weeb central, as far as people here were concerned it was real since 2013.
>>154486938>The biggest issue is that they are trying to make Super Hero movies about characters that have never been grandly popular and have no potential to become iconic brands.Like Guardians of the Galaxy
I think it's more "bad movie fatigue"."Tron" bombed. Do we have SF fatigue?"Snow White" bombed. Do we have Fairy Tale fatigue?"Elio" bombed. Do we have animated feature fatigue?Make a good cape film and they will come.
>>154486999and iron man and black panther
>>154487305Didn't Tron bomb all three times? Seems to have been born fatigued.
Overblown, it's just something that 4chins says, and 4chins only says it because they associate it with reddit, and they only associate it with reddit because redditors talk about it, and redditors talk about it because it's popular with normal people who don't come to this hellsite to post "based" fifty thousand times.
>>154486839Real, seeing as how I'm constantly filtering capeshit on this board.
>>154489014Skill issue
>>154487305Correct
>>154487305>Do we have SF fatigue?>Do we have Fairy Tale fatigue?>Do we have animated feature fatigue? The average person probably does, in that they barely care about those genres. They want horrorslop like Obsession and Backrooms.
Comics peaked at Brits and Euros doing cool sci-fi shit but not enough people realize>Most of the world by now sees comics as just superhero shit, even though they only know those characters from movies>Modern Western artists copy anime/manga because to them "Western media" is just, again, superheros and also Disney and maybe Family Guy>Warhammer 40K copied a lot of ideas from comics like Nemesis the Warlock and overshadows them in popularity, while Games Workshop also acts Nintendo levels of anal over "plagiarim" to their plagiarism heavy franchise>Flop game Concord claimed to be "inspired by Metal Hurlant" and that probably made people view European comics as lame>"Retro sci fi" accounts that occasionally post a Druillet drawing or two can't help boost popularity for these comics while everyone puts their attention towards some 2000's Canadian cartoon for babiesNo wonder not enough people respect comics as a medium>>154487305Superhero movies exist in abundance compared to those and we're already in a post "Endgame" era for the MCU
>>154486936>4chan the weeb centralmore like SELF HATING weeb centralthis site has roots dating to SomethingAwful and /a/ got their opinions from ANN guys that had horrible opinionsthis is why people on 4chan who bitch about "tourists" suck because 1 they're tourists themselves and 2 they treat some aspects of the site's culture like it matters when it always had shit in it
>>154487559Legacy barely made profit and Aries could have done much better if what's his face wasn't in it and less production hell.
>>154490598not even Nine Inch Nails could save that movie
>>154486839We'll see how Spider-Man 4 and Batman 2 do to get a real sense of this>>154486999Was fresh then, stale now
>>154490542Cope
>>154491095what if buying a ticket entitled you to nail a nine inch nail into jared leto
>>154491118>dude i love low standardspeople like you are why ai slop exists
I’ve been fatigued since 2017
>>154486839It’s only real when spider-man or Batman fully under perform. Everything else is just people assuming something is bad until word of mouth says something different
>>154491210No
>>154491237I've been fatigued since I changed the channel whenever an action cartoon came on. In hindsight, I shouldn't have skipped the non-capeshit ones since they're so sparse now...
>>154490542>>Warhammer 40K copied a lot of ideas from comics like Nemesis the Warlock and overshadows them in popularity,Does it? Then why does 40K still not have a single theatrical movie? It's an inherently niche franchise that's too edgy for common audiences. Imagine taking your girlfriend to see the Warhammer movie.>Flop game Concord claimed to be "inspired by Metal Hurlant" and that probably made people view European comics as lameLiterally no one ever heard about that or cares. This did not change anything regarding Euro comics' obscurity.

Its very real. Even good movies can't get 700 million anymore. Only the biggest heroes are getting this much aka Wolverine, Spiderman and Batman and Avengers.
>>154486839I've had since 2012, I hope all Superhero movies going forward continue to bomb/under perform until they are forced to stop
>>154487305They haven't 2-4+ fairy tale movies every year for 20+ years, plus tv spinoffs, and they haven't been the dominant pop cultural force in the same way. Good or bad, you get tired of seeing the same shit over and over which is finally biting superheroes in the ass.
>>154489816Horror movies always had sleepers that overperform on boxoffice. Usually is a mix of capturing the zeitgeist and good writing. That's it.
>>154486839It's really just hollywood fatigue at not understanding why these characters worked to begin with.
>>154486839It's real in the sense that audiences are a lot less interested and forgiving to the average super hero movie. A LOT of the MCU movies were bland to outright bad (Age of Ultron being the prime example) that managed to have goodwill and make money through sheer momentum of the genre. But Endgame pretty well killed that momentum on account of it being a pretty solid actual end, that in addition to Marvel's Endgame follow up being particularly bad killed the mainstream interest. Characters like Spider-Man and maybe Batman are likely immune but I think the days of a nobody character like Carol Danvers pulling in a billion are over unless the movie is particularly spectacular.
>>154486839I stopped watching MCU and DCU around the time age of ultron came out. I think the only superhero film I watched since then was the first Shazam.
>>154491406>Even good movies can't get 700 million anymoreThat's not exclusive to capeshit though, I could probably count on one, maybe one and a half hands how many movies have made over 700 million since covid.
>>154486839For multiple years, the MCU, DCEU, and Sony (especially Sony) released straight garbage movies back to back. Superhero fatigue is simply audiences not trusting superhero movies to be good anymore. People will only watch a movie guaranteed to be fun like Deadpool or Spider-Man.
>>154491628>Superhero fatigue is simply audiences not trusting superhero movies to be good anymoreThis in addition to the movie being on Disney+ or HBOwhatever in a month or two audiences don't feel like they're missing out anymore
