Just finished my 3rd rewatch...There is simply no other show man, how come we can't get another gravity falls-like show made ever again? What the fuck man, all these new shows are either trash or indieslop, I'm tired of it
>>156208570GF sucksFucking unc shit
>>156208570I wanna rape mabel
>>156208586this entire board is unc shit nigga only uncs watch cartoons nowadays
>>156208592Can’t rape the willing though, she’d leglock you and talk about what you’re gonna name the baby
>>156208570It has some pacing problems. Like I wish S2 was split in two so some of the reveals had time to have an impacf.Like, S1 only had a couple episodes with big lore implications. Episode 1, Episode 4, Episode 9, Episode 16(only in hindsight) and the two part finale. And most is it is pretty tame, Episode 9 is just introducing Blendin and Waddles and 16 has the first major hints of the reveal. It’s really just>Episode 1 is a huge lore dump>Episode 20 has some big twists and reveals>4 introduces the main villain and the location of Journal 2Meanwhile S2 has so many they don’t get time to breathe. For example, Scary-Oke ends with Stan finally revealing to the Twins he’s known about the supernatural stuff all along and he stops playing dumb with them. That should be a huge status quo change, but it’s immeidately overshadowed by bigger reveals in the next episode Into the Bunker and we don’t get to dwell on it much. And then shortly after that is Sock Opera and shortly after that is Society of the Blind Eye and then Not What He Seems.I think the pacing works a lot better if we have a 20 episode S2 ending at Not What He Seems to give each of those more breathing room. (Get a couple episodes post Scary-Oke showing how Stan openly knowing about the supernatural with the twins changed their interactions, spend more time on the laptop, focus more on the implications of the towns people not getting their memories erased anymore (I always assumed the reason Dipper made the newspaper we see at the start of Northwest Manor Mystery is because that was his first big public event that didn’t get erased)
>>156208570>There is simply no other show man, how come we can't get another gravity falls-like show made ever again? Not from the current American animation industry. Haunted hotel is the best they an do.
>>156208830>I think the pacing works a lot better if we have a 20 episode S2 ending at Not What He Seems to give each of those more breathing room10000% and I think everyone agreesCan you imagine not what he seems is s2 finale THEN s3 is all about pure action vs bill so we don't get the weirdmageddon problem cramming everything in 3 episodes
>>156208570>There is simply no other show mansamethe fact that there isnt a show on air that even tries to replicate gravity falls down to its setting and main sibling duo fucking sucks
>>156208570>>156209307'monster loving maniacs'
>>156208570She's so fucking sexy. She's still like the gold standard for cartoon mega-babe.
>>156208592Over a decade and I'm still regularly bursting loads to this cutie. She's an absolute timeless classic waifu.
>>156208570>>156209307>Nothing else like it exists! The Doomies is airing on Disney right now and pretty much is like GF but you won’t even give it a glance
Never warmed up to Gravity Falls and all the people that treat it like it's God's gift to animation frustrates me
>>156209945Same, mabels so fucking hot
>>156210026Look how fucking CUTE she is. I was just going thru random scenes and capped this. Love her soft round face, love the expressions in this show.
>>156208570Gravity Falls is good and all but it's a 2x rewatch show, 3x is too many.
>>156210060
>>156210068And three times just this year alone. Madman behavior
>>156208570I've rewatched MLP twice this year. Even the late seasons are better than GF
>>156208570Now watch Twin Peaks and the X-Files.Or the DCAU, if it must be /co/.
>>156210531X-Files is one of those cases where something can be seminal without actually being all that great.
>>156210605The only sci fi program I've watched that is more ambitious, imaginative, and consistently good than seasons 1-5 of The X-Files is maybe Doctor Who.
>>156208570It’s good but it’s not that goddamn good. Clarence is unironically better and you have autism
>>156210531I watched the entirety of twin peaks last year and I still get life questioning nightmares
>>156210641I was about to disagree, but on reflection I think it's just that as a sci fi fan I just personally find sci fi TV shows to be a bit shit.
>>156210668IMDB says "life is just one big adventure for Clarence and his two best friends", does the show have a plot?
>>156210703>I watched the entirety of twin peaks last year and I still get life questioning nightmares>There IS noWHERE to GO... but HoMe!>HAHAHAHAHAhahHAhahAHahAH
>>156210750Seconding that Clarence is a genuinely great show. I don't thing it's better than Gravity Falls, but I still think it's another one of the best ever. Criminally underrated and underappreciated show. It doesn't have that much of a serialized plot, it's more just episodic and character-driven.
>>156209954but I DID thoI'm the fucking guy spamming how much I hated the no-build-up nigga at the end, I hate how they wasted the monster inside me plotline with the witch as a side thing that gets resolved before the finale instead of it being THE finale (because of how much I despised that no-build-up-came-outta-nowhere-nigga)And I don't like the art style all that much, and lastly it lacks the one thing that completed GF which has that comfy, upstate, middle of nowhere lumberjack town vibesDoomies is not GF, It aint even close.
>>156208586fr man these unc put on some damn cocomelon bih
Grab At De Balls
>>156208570>>156210914>middle of nowhere lumberjack town vibesThis is a major part of its appeal to me, that can't be overstated. The first time I watched this show was so special and elevated by the fact that I decided to stream it paced out over the course of a 3 month summer trip to Oregon. It was the first time I had gone to the state, and I travelled all over, including to many little rural lumber towns that have the exact Gravity Falls vibe, most noteworthy being the IRL House of Mystery in Gold Hill. When leaving the state at the end of the trip I also made sure to take the Redwood Highway back down into CA, and visited Trees of Mystery along the way, and this was just days after watching the episode "Roadside Attraction", where the characters do the exact same thing. Visiting the "real locations" was surreal. Of course I went to Portland and Salem and such too, but the Oregon I really fell in love with (to the point that I plan to eventually move there), are the real old-timey rural areas. Particularly throughout Jackson, Josephine and Douglas County, places where lumber mills and their smokestacks still run and where if you pop into the local bar you can find it full of modern day legit lumberjacks and miners. And it was Gravity Falls that helped me fall in love with that side of Oregon, that came along with me on that trip like a digital "companion experience" to pair with what I was physically doing and experiencing, and it really mentally elevated the whole trip, as the trip in-turn elevated the show. Watching it for the first time "on-location" has genuinely been one of the best and most enjoyable media experiences of my life, and I can't recommend enough that others do the same if they get the chance (even if in their case it's a rewatch).
>>156208570I don't think it's as good as people say it is. People act like it's the second coming of cartoons, I think everything has just been so potently farcical that people put high acclaim into it from any alternative that was also serialized. I kind of resent the lingering fondness for it. Especially when the fandom is so rife with loli/shota/incestfags and it gets zero shit for it.
This show kinda sucks man. Over the Garden Wall is better.
>>156211297*a lack of any alternativeIt also just comes from the fact that most cartoon writers just cannot write an overarcing story for the life of them. When you look into cartoons made for adults you at least get a few truly good things like this such as Venture Bros. I would say that outclasses gravity falls by a few orders, but it's not made for kids so no one grew up with it, and it's lacking in cutesy fuckable girls under 18 so there's no porn presence for the internet to cling onto eternally.
>>156211325>Venture BrosGenuinely one of the greatest cartoons of all time. I'm totally with you on that.>it's lacking in cutesy fuckable girls under 18This is indeed something it's lacking. And that the majority of 'adult animation' seems to lack. But I don't come to shows like VB for that kind of content anyway, so it's not really a true criticism. I come to shows like Gravity Falls and the DTVA stuff for that, and that's the epitome of apples & oranges. Gravity Falls is exemplary in that category though, precisely why the internet clings to them eternally is that the cast of girls from this show are just so thoroughly top-tier.
>>156208592dont.
>>156210060>>156210415I swear they drew her the cutest in this episode somehow
>>156208870The only issue is S2 would probably need a new main villain. Bill only shows up once in that period.Maybe the Shapeshifter could come back a couple times? I like that idea
>>156208592do.
>>156212748>Maybe the Shapeshifter could come back a couple times? I like that ideaI like that idea too.https://www.deviantart.com/swainart/gallery/99707262
>>156208570>There is simply no other show manWhen does it get good? I've tried watching it multiple times, but I usually lose interest after 7 or 8 episodes. It just doesn't seem particularly special or appealing. The most fun I've had with the show is watching compilations of all the show/commercial parodies they have on the TV.
>>156208586>>156208630>>156210929>unc>unc shit niggaWhy are people talking like this on 4chan? Am used to this being practically the only space left on the internet where people generally don't talk like this. Fuck off.
>>156214507What's unc?
>>156214009>I've tried watching it multiple times, but I usually lose interest after 7 or 8 episodes. You repeatedly watch 7 or 8 episodes of a show you don't like? And usually lose interest afterwards, but implicitly not always? What are you trying to say? You sound retarded,
>>156214507well it started with trannies and indians spamming it here to make the website less enjoyable for its users, then retards started doing it to fit in, and now people post it to make fun of zoomers on here
