Any idea why NoobAI would be doing this? NTRmix works fine, using Automatic1111. Euler, and have tried SGM Uniform, Karras, and Automatic. 1440x896, CFG 4, 30 steps, though it seems to fail basically immediately. Using their default, recommended prompts.

Yeah, not really sure how I feel about this. I did get Forge working, thank you - if nothing else, it seems less prone to crashing while I can keep working on other stuff on my PC. With A1111, I had to close everything else and just leave it alone.

But I still feel like NTRmix (bottom) is giving me better results. Noob still has that same very harsh lighting that Pony does. I tried a few different tags and did venture outside the recommended renderer, but nothing seemed to help much. I didn't work on these much in post, but top still took probably... 30+ generations to find something acceptable with a bit of inpainting afterwards. Bottom took just ~10, with just some low denoise img2img to fix up the fingers a bit.

Am I missing something?

Ah, yes. It took some tinkering to get Forge working (Windows, AMD, Zluda) and I forgot all about it in the interim. Thanks. Apparently it's under "Latent Modifier" > "Rescale CFG Phi". The difference from off (top) to on at 0.7 is noticable and there are a ton more options to play with. I thought a dark scene with ultraviolet lights would really show off the contrast differences, but it's probably too limiting to really see the differences.

It's nice to see such a positive post. I couldn't find much of what I'm into with characters I like, so I started genning, and it's odd to see a lot of threads with people complaining they can't find what they're looking for and hating AI art.

I'm honestly not a fan of AI art as a ... "realistic entity", because I know what the end game is, ultimately devaluing the very artists that enable this technology in the first place and destroying any opportunity for new, small artists to get a foothold.

But as a technology, it's neat, it's fun to play with. I gen for my own uses and I've contributed to these threads, as long as it's just for personal consumption and free.

At the same time, I have kind of mixed feelings because as someone who's spent thousands of dollars on commissions from actual artists, they're also so fucking hit-or-miss that the inherent randomness of an AI gen isn't much different. The number of times I've forked over a few hundred dollars, given my description with references and gotten back something that was... Absolutely not what I wanted, but you can't just go "do it again" because that's a human who spent hours of their life on this, it's a sort of frustrating all on its own.

tl;dr I guess is just, I wish we lived in a different world where we could play with this technology without it eventually ending up hurting anyone.

but I don't think it'll kill off actual artists, the limitations of AI art are becoming clear and progress has hit diminishing returns ages ago. Can't produce manga/comic format or anything that requires maintaining details in-between images, whether it's the character, the environment or even just the view angle. Can't produce nuanced facial expressions, most everyday objects and interactions with them. Can't produce videos with sudden movements, impacts, etc only smooth rotoscope-like animation. Character design is a huge pain, you need to generate enough images with consistent features to bake a lora that's not overfit; which involves baking overfit ones then trying to push them towards producing a sufficiently different image to expand the dataset. And many more limitations.

As an artist, I can appreciate it does have an impact, the same way a lot of freelance was farmed out to Fiverr in recent years. At the same time, there are artists I like who don't take commissions, or retired years ago, so I simply couldn't get a new wancozow image any other way.

I used to do a lot of screenshot redraws and edits for r, aco and h, and what was twenty minutes of masking and noise filters is six seconds to look seamless, so to me using it like that saves me effort.

And I agree from working with clients that what you produce (or even what's possible) is rarely what they've pictured in their minds, and that's not great for either party. I can get as picky or detailed as I like, and I'm just wasting processor time instead of billable hours.

Anyone know of an amputee lora that's any good at depicting detached limbs? Was doing this on request and getting nowhere, had a bit of success using "Model Kit Girl" lora to get a base to use for controlnet but eventually had to just edit arms/legs into place and inpaint over them.

Yeah just learn your models uses, the tools and the proper way to prompt. Loras aren't needed as often now, especially for illustrious models the text parser can be pretty exact with even low sample danbooru tags, but if you try writing freeform it'll still tokenise the individual words as though they're tags. Generally good for things like "holding [specific object]", "sitting/leaning/standing on [thing]", or even "[character] cosplaying as [character]" but don't try for anything more elaborate. Tokens can also be confused within danbooru tags, like "chopper_(motorcycle)" understands the concept but is still going to see it as chopper from one piece and might sneak that in somewhere, same for something like "pear-shaped_figure", that's where negatives help. Get used to using things like from side/above/below, foreshortening/perspective, full body/cowboy shot/upper body/portrait etc, can do a lot to make a 1girl solo image more interesting to look at.

Controlnet is the most useful tool there is for txt2img, I use depth constantly to control the image composition, especially useful alongside regional prompting. Reference is really useful for concepts the model lacks grasp on. Always use "prompt is more important".

For inpainting get a feel for functional ratios of mask size, denoise, resolution, and only masked padding pixels, alongside adjusting the prompt right. I usually make a 1014x1024 aspect ratio equivalent then upscale by 1.4 and use mask padding between 40-120 depending on how much of the rest of the image the section needs to align with or see to understand the subject. Denoise at 0.4 can do more than you'd think and I rarely go as high as 0.6. Larger mask generally means less detail and difference also.

This is important too. Very often when inpainting you'll just be wasting time hoping the AI will do it all for you, just edit something to look somewhat like it should, it can be shoddy. If you get two left hands for example, just draw over the existing thumb and put a new one on the other side then inpaint it, you're never going to get the AI to understand the difference between a left/right hand through just the prompt.

Can be used to easily add something entirely new to the image too, just keep on inpainting. You'll get seams along the edges of your mask, so eventually you'll need to edit it into the original image and do some erasing, but it works.

Honestly, using the 'sketch' tool in img2img or saving the image and editing in an external editor is the only 'advanced' piece of advice I'd really recommend for getting started.

My preference is to just let the AI do its own thing. I don't go in to any of these thinking, "I want the cock to be [this] big, and there must be precisely [this many] goblins..." My brain just goes, "hoo hee, MACHINE PRINT HORNY IMAGE" and away we go. Personally, if I were going to put that much effort into something, I'd rather just spend that time practicing my own art.

The only tips I really have are, get really familiar with Danbooru and e621 tags, especially for poses. Often poses have weird or unexpected names, like "doggy style" is "on all fours" and there are subtle differences between things like "kneeling" and "sitting on knees" (seiza).

Also re: sketching, remember you don't have to draw perfectly neat lines. The AI works off noise, sort of like 'shades'. So as long as you draw blobs of distinct colours, it'll usually figure out what you want just by the contrast from one region to the next.

It's funny, I'm actually using this to ease into real art. The autistic level of detail, inpainting, redrawing, anatomical comparisons, etc. I do with AI shit doesn't stress me out nearly as much as regular art, and I've seen actual improvements in my attempts at drawing just through doing this. It also makes it less stressful, I've built up a ton of anxiety around drawing, and this is like a "See? You're not drawing (but still kind of are/are thinking about a lot of the same concepts" way to present it to my brain to prevent it from flying into fear frenzy mode.

I'd encourage anyone feeling the same way about art to give doing this a try, actually. Just get really autistic about perfecting a single piece of AI art through edits, looking up how poses work, studying your own hands, etc. to dip your toes in. Even editing real art with AI help, like picrel, can be super helpful.

I've found that happens with any upscaler if going to a high enough resolution. You could try increasing tile size or overlap, but you're probably better off not messing with that and simply generating smaller. If you really need shit to be huge do an non-img2img upscale then inpaint or use img2img with a very low denoise.

Some of those negs are unnecessary too, two hand negs (that still wouldn't help anything) when you don't even have hands in the pic; neg looking at viewer instead of looking away. Are you frequently getting animal ears, animal tail, etc unprompted? Maybe get a better checkpoint.

I started this using an older image with these two as a base. Some of the negatives are recommended with the checkpoint, so I leave those in regardless.

... I was about to say, I get a lot of cat ears and tails when I gen women with latex catsuits, but then I just realized, I discovered a bit ago the tag isn't 'catsuit', but 'latex bodysuit'... So that could have been the entire source of my problem. Huh.

A lot of the other tags, like I mention here >>11362070 is just a desperate attempt to get it to not mix up traits between characters. Even using 1.5 weights and trying to separate character traits between breaks, it routinely swaps the hair colours or gives him makeup (when included), etc. I do go in and start removing or adjusting tags when I feel like I've hit a road block, I just thought that failgen was funny.
