Some of the artifacts really help, like the map, fireball for statues, lantern for healing. But those are also your revive currency, so you should try a magic house early and then collect left behind blues. You can spend those on upgrades. Those are really nice, like superjump and the statue stopper. But all that takes time and giantess isn't one for being patient. I'm still getting used to the new environment difficulties, but those are really neat, even if it's kicking my ass.
