>>3075327What does is basically change the scheduler to expend more time on the details or in the composition of the picture.With low shift you get better detailing becuse it spends more time polishing the picture but since it spends little time on the composition this can be poor and it also can have lot of noise.With high shift it spends more time generating the picture but less in the details so you get a better compositon but the actual details on the picture will be shit and can look blurry.

With high shift you are already telling it to spend more time on the base image and less with details, and with low shift viceversa you are telling it spend less time on the composition and less on the details.You can't tell it to spend more time on the compositon during the composition phase and also spend more time on the detail.When you change the shift you are giving one thing priority over the other you can't prioritize both at the same time
