Usually forget/too lazy to do it, but: morning:- cleanser/soap in shower- EltaMD UV Daily Tinted night:- cleanser- TriLuma for melasma- Neutrogena Rapid Tone Repair (has retinol and vitamin C, the ONLY two ingredients scientifically proven to reduce aging)- CeraVe PM or Aquaphor if I'm still feeling dryAs for shaving balls, just use a trimmer with a guard bruh
>>18080800I start by washing my face once a day in the shower>Irish Spring Soap [Preferably moisture blast]And then I apply Nivea Intense Healing lotion to my face after I shower, as I believe normal moisturizer always smells weird. To shave my balls I first trim with a short guard attachment on trimmers, not full on barber clippers. This will make it easier. I then will use soap, not shaving cream in the shower and a regular cartridge razor to smooth them.Never use a foil electric razor on your balls, as I've gotten my nut skin sucked in.

Well it took some time for me to work up the balls (heh) do to this >>17996381 and it's been a few weeks since I did the freezing and it didn't do anything to the cyst. The skin blistered and scabbed over like it was supposed to but after the few weeks I was supposed to wait, the scab just fell off and the cyst is completely intact, it doesn't feel numb or show any signs of falling off. At least it didn't damage my dick or anything but there's still a cyst bulging out the side of my penis. I think there's too much blood circulation around the cyst because it's on my penis so it won't die easily from absurdly cold temperatures. Seeing a dermatologist is probably the only way to get rid of it, but that's incredibly embarrassing, and I'm not too far off from just giving up on trying to escape inceldom altogether and just buy a sex doll so I can pretend she's my girlfriend like in that one Ryan Gosling movie. Also does anyone know if I should use normal bath soap or facial cleanser on my neck? I've had some acne that's not going away on my neck and I switched from washing it with normal bath soap to facial cleanser but that has only slightly reduced it.

Am I applying them right or whats going on?Its usually called pilling when that happens. It could be some interaction between the acne gell and the sunscreen/ moisturizer. It could just be the sunscreen is crappy i haven't tried it myself. If you don't have a more extensive routine i would put the acne gel on at night when you wash the sunscreen off and just toss some light lotion on top of it like cerave daily moisturizing lotion. Then in the morning you can rinse your face with water and just put the cerave am moisturizer/ sunscreen on.You could also try a different sunscreen.Buy some skin aqua uv super gel or nivea sun protect water gel on Amazon or ebay and try that.
>>18081317>Recommend me a sun protection that doesn't feel disgusting.Japanese or Korean, look for YouTube videos where people cover how they look dried or what skintypes they work best for. They just are so much lighter and less greasy then even the expensive American sunscreens. What is the optimal diet to achieve good skin?
>>18082424The posters here that insist diet is all that matters are quite silent when it comes to actually giving advice on what a good diet is.Eat lots of meat and vegetables. Try and eat meats with a high collagen content (no idea if this actually improves you skin but it doesn't hurt)Avoid refined sugarTake a multivitamin Eat foods with antioxidants occasionally I don't think diet matters as much as people claim once you get beyond diets that are so shitty you end up with vitamin or mineral deficiencies.Im sure if you look up foods that are good for your skin you will find a bunch of people shilling meme "superfoods" like acai berry or seamoss gel or whatever the latest meme is this week and very little with actual hard data behind it.Basically don't eat nothing but processed junkfood, eat meat, eat fruit, don't be an alcoholic, don't drink shitloads of soda, ignore people shilling meme diets.
I'm new to skincare and recently tried using benzoyl peroxide because it seems to be recommended everywhere. It ended causing my skin to be really red and kind of itchy the next day. Did I do something wrong or does my skin just not react well with it?

Anyone got any good moisturizing body wash recommendations?I was using some sensitive skin repair body wash by neutrogena but my local store stopped carrying it. I enjoyed its lack of fragrance and other unnecessary shit but it didn't give the moisture I was looking for.I'm currently using some rose-scented bath gel that my gf got as a gift but never ended up using. The fragrance in it makes my eyes burn even though I'm only using it up to my neck. What I need is a body wash that provides the same moisture as a lotion, can be purchased through major retailers, and has mild to no fragrance. Anything that fits that bill?
>>18085199For me its unscented dove bars, i think the unscented ones are called sensitive skin. Pretty mild, doesn't strip moisture, supposedly adds hydration, feels like it does to me. If you need more hydration then that then just get a bottle of lotion and rub some on while you are still damp from the shower a few times a week.I was looking for a good mild body wash for a while but i didn't find any i liked. Finding unscented ones is even harder.
>>18085199Cerave and lubriderm both make an unscented hydrating body wash, i haven't tried either personally there is also Aveeno Skin Relief Fragrance-Free Body Wash
>>18085207Apparently dove makes one too, i never saw this when i was looking before and I thought all their body wash is scented
Can moisturizers make your skin develop a dependence on them?I had normal skin with no apparent issues and started using moisturizers only because I was doing the self-improver Pat Bateman meme. >>18082699I recently switched from that to the slant 39c. It gives a closer shave. I had the 34c for 12 years and was happy with it.
>>18085413I completely stopped my skincare for my face for about six months and i didn't notice anything like that. Are you washing your face with soap? That will dry it out
Slightly related to the thread but what method do you guys use when washing your body during a shower? Do you use a bar soap and lather yourself with it? Do you apply that bar soap to a loofah or a wash cloth and then use said item to wash yourself? Do you first lather with bar soap then follow with body wash on a loofah? How do you wash your feet and toes if you are using shower shoes?
Can you guys recommend a bar soap that>smells good>hydrates skin instead of drying it out>isn't too expensive ($5 or less per bar)I've tried a lot of soaps and most dry my skin out. Best one I've tried it Honey Sweetie Acres Masculine scent pack but they don't last long and they're expensive.

>>18085496Why do you hate artificial colors? Sometimes they are better and offer us cheaper prices. Just because it is "natural" doesnt mean it is better.
>>18085503They are carcinogenic and make my skin feel itchy
>>18081419I'll say again what I said in the last thread but I had bad seb for years and then I did two things that put it to rest almost entirely. I'll tell you in case they happen to work for someone else too. 1. Shave your face with a razor every single day. This changes everything since the crap that causes seb gunks around your hair follicles. If I forget to shave a day it fucks everything up.2. Slug your face before bed with vaseline or aquaphor. A thin layer will do fine.
Just want to bring something attention to something a friend recommended to me and that I hadn't seen mentioned in these threads: sugar scrubs.I've been using a DIY recipe that's literally just some white sugar + coconut oil. It works as an exfoliant for the body (not recommended for facial use) that you use after/during the shower and god damn it makes my skin feel so smooth and clean, I'm in love. Super simple and cheap and you can probably mix some essential oils or lotions to give it a bit of scent.
I started using topical tret again. I initially stopped using it because it made my skin too oily, I guess thats what people call tret glow, I think it looks ridiculous in real life. But I want my skin tone to be finally even, I am just kind of hoping that my skin won't get oily now, lmao

im been using tretinoin 0.025% gel for nearly 2 months now.My skin is incredibly smooth, i never feel any skin crud buildup on my nose or anywhere else when washing my face.I don't feel any need to use chemical exfoliation anymore, since my skin always feels smooth and clean.I have zero blackheads or whiteheads, but i mostly had those under control before starting tret.I had zero purge but i have never had chronic acne.I have had pretty minimal dry skin issues with it, i had noticable peeling on one or two days and that was it.It burned a lot at first and it still stings a bit for like 10 minutes after putting it on, i also occasionally have warmth in my face like you feel when you almost got a sunburn, but it's from the tret not sun exposure. My skin is kinda shiny, its nowhere near as bad as pictures people post online make it look. They all take pictures with all their moisturizer freshly applied and still wet. But its noticable. Reminds me of what my skin would look like the day after doing a 10% AHA peel. Also im wearing more moisturizer then i used to which could play a part in the shine. I could probably find some matte finish sunscreen but i haven't bothered to look for a good Japanese one and a lot of them are for people with greasy skinAlso i had to start wearing chapstick at night or my lips will get a bit dry, but that was always a problem in cold weather anyways.Overall im happy so far, its too early to judge it's effectiveness for anti aging.Im considering starting azelaic acid again and or adding some peptides to my routine maybe both, but i might be too lazy, im enjoying how minimal my routine is right nwo
What is this? It appeared on my hand a few days ago and now the dead skin is starting to peel. I’ve had it before but I can’t remember how I treated it. I have some topical steroid cream (Mupirocin) but I don’t think it was used for this. However I could be wrong.

So I decided to start having a skincare routine for the first time in my life, I'm 23 btw. I want to start with simple routine so I don't abandon it. So far I decided to use topical retinoid and sunscreen. Thats it. Is that good enough for anti-aging, at least at first?People constantly talk about using two more things: moisturizer and cleanser. Please explain what they are for, I don't understand their utility. Will it be alright if I don't use them? I care first and foremost about preventing skin aging, not really about anything else. Like I don't care if my face is "dry", whatever that means, and I can wash shit off my face with running water. Or is my line of thinking wrong?
>>18088549Use moisturizer and cleanser 1 if you are going to use sunscreen you need to wash it off at the end of the day, using soap or whatever is too harsh for this.Just buy a bottle of cerave foaming facial cleanser, it's $14 at the drug store, the bottle will last you over a year if you don't use a fistful each time you wash your face.2. Using retinol will cause dryness, so you need to use some kind of moisturizer, again just buy a bottle of cerave daily moisturizing lotion, or some other light lotion it will last for ages, you only need a small amount.Your routine should be.AmRinse face with water (or don't decide what works for you)Put on sunscreen PmWash face with cleanser Pat dry with towelPut on retinol Let it soak in for a minute Put on moisturizer That's it, nice and simple, you don't need to add anything else, just use the stuff, whatever cheap drugstore light lotion is fine, you don't need to buy $30 tiny tubs of moisturizer or other overpriced stuff. Keep it simple. If you just wash your face with regular soap and don't use moisturizer your face will get dry, red and irritated, when starting retinol without moisturizer you will have large visible patches of dry peeling skin. You can avoid all that buy just putting up with using basic stuff. Again, cheap and simple is fine, you don't need $40 bottles of imported korean face wash that smell like roses or whatever.
>>18088549>>18088579You can also just buy a retinol product that is in moisturizer like olay 24 retinol but usually it's kuch more expensive that way vs buying a bottle of retinol from the ordinary or getting some retinol serum from Neutrogena or whatever. make sure you read about how to star using retinol, every 3 days for a week or two, then every other day for another week or two, then daily. Follow the manufacturers application instructions and don't use too much.Lately ive been using the Neutrogena hydro boost hydration gel cleanser, it's cheap and works well, just make sure to get the unscented version, it's marked on the label.Anyway cleanser, sunscreen, retinol and moisturizer is all you need, that's it, your done. It will only take a few minutes a day.

can i use 2% ketoconazole shampoo on athlete’s foot or should i use lotrimin? lotrimin takes forever in my experience and i was wondering if the antifungal properties of the shampoo would work.
>>18088647A: Don't buy Lotrimin, or even store brand versions. It's way over priced. You can get tubes of generic with the same active ingredient online a lot cheaper on Amazon or elsewhere. The price difference is insane, like $2/oz online versus $25/oz for name brand. Depending on how bad yours is, you might go through a lot, so it adds up.B. I don't know if that shampoo will work. Based on the active ingredient, it might, but I haven't used it.C. I've had the best success using both Clotrimazole (Lotrimin) and Tolnaftate (Tinactin) at the same time.

>>18088687Bro I didn't mean to antagonize you but you actually did not provide a single good reason to use either moisturizer or cleanser.Like why can't I wash sunscreen off my face with just water? I know that retinoids can burn and cause flaky skin at the start but I don't care about that as I said. I apologize if I offended you, but please tell me what are the actual reasons for the use of moisturizer and cleanser? Are there any long-term benefits? Specifically for anti-aging?
>>18088699I genuinely can imagine a bigger waste of time then trying to convince some autistic shitskin on 4chan to do something he already decided he doesn't want to do
>tretI've been using this for almost two months and while I have seen big improvements over acne, I feel like my eye area has become a bit more sensitive. Like it burns a little when I run my finger across. It's not a big deal rn but I'm worried it could become a problem in the furure. How do I deal with this?
>>18088712Your under eyes?I would just give your eyes a bit more space when applying tret, some of it will make it there anyway through your skin but around your eyes you skin is thinner and more sensitive, some people don't apply tret around their eyes at all, some apply a lower dosage or use a more mild under eye retinol creme with a low concentration.I don't apply tret on the sides of the bridge of my nose just the front, i also don't put any below my eyebrows and i try to avoid putting it directly under my eyes, maybe 1/2 an inch or so.
Huge breakout after a few weeks of nothing, genuine mental torture
it's been 3 months and I'm still getting cystic acne on my chin, even while on tretinoin and cutting out the chemical exfoliants. Is it possible it's just hormonal/stress induced? I don't drink milk, and i feel like it started after I started consistently working out more. and if that's the case how the hell do i fix it
can anyone give an easy routine. I’m too depressed to move some days and I struggle to do simple things like brushing my teeth. I just want to look okay without so much effort
>>18085843Time.
I think vitamin c serum and tretinoin is giving my dry skin. I can’t actually confirm that it’s either of these since it is allergy season and I’ve been indoors with my air conditioning and since it could be my shower water, but it’s so bad on my face especially that I suspect it’s one of these two or both? Is this common? Should I drop one or the other or both? I’ve only been using them for a couple of weeks. I apply vitamin c once daily in the morning and tretinoin 3x per week at night. Other than that, the only thing I use is hypoallergenic sunscreen.
>>18089124The only OTC thing that is really proven to be beneficial is sunscreen, and I’m convinced you should really only use it at around midday in sunnier months or if you have a lot of sun exposure (you’re a trucker or construction worker or something). Beyond that, the only things that may or may not be worth it depending on your skin are gentle cleansers and moisturizers. That really just depends on your skin. Other stuff is promising but it’s all prescription.
>>18088712Had this problem. Turned out I was applying it wrong. I now put a dab on my finger and apply greater or lesser amounts in areas. I apply a very, very little dab to the under-eye area and a bigger dab to the rest of my face. That made under-eye irritation go away. That, and switching my cleanser to Dove sensitive skin bar soap.

How does tret micro or cream compare to Differin? I went back on Differin gel recently but it's making my skin hella dry. I have an autoimmune disorder that's been acting up so I figure that's part of the reason why. Also has anyone tried Winlevi? My insurer started covering it and I'm considering giving it a shot.

Should I look into surgery if my scars look like pic related?
moisturizer with spf a good idea or buy moisturizer and separate sunscreen?also anyone have a link for one of those Japanese sunscreens I hear about? went to YouTube to look for recs but idk any sunscreen tubers so I assume all the videos are just ads
Went to derm today after 9 months of epiduo forte. She said they don't have anything stronger than thatDo I pull the trigger on tazarotene? This one in particularhttps://incidecoder.com/products/boderm-tazarene-cream-for-dry-skinUnless I should go for 0.1% version (green tube)?
What should I do if my skin tone is nice and even when I’m tanned but rosy and blotchy when I’m not tanned? My current routine is:> vitamin c serum 5x per week in AM> sunscreen daily around midday> tretinoin 2x per week in PMI don’t use cleansers or moisturizers because they seem to make me itch and give me acne.
>>18090111>How does tret micro or cream compare to Differin? Tret micro gel is slow release so its more mild for some people even though the concentration is a bit higher.Differin only comes in one concentration which is kind of high. Ive also read that some people find it more drying then tret in general. So you have the combination of switching to a fast release gel from a slow release cream, while at the same time the effective dose is slightly higher. You can try just using less differin and see if that helps.
>>18091004Tell them to give you a azelaic acid 20% script next time you see them. That will also help with the acne while being less awful to use then benzol peroxide.
>>18091288>also anyone have a link for one of those Japanese sunscreens I hear about? You can just search Japanese sunscreen on Amazon and find a bunch. The YouTube videos can be helpful because they will tell you if stuff is scented and show you how the different sunscreens look when dry on their face. This is cheapish and comes in larger bottles.https://www.amazon.com/mussor-Japanese-Sunscreen-Super-4-22floz/dp/B0CB91M43X/This stuff is goodhttps://www.amazon.com/HADA-LABO-Perfect-Gel-SPF50/dp/B07M9GYH6Y/I use this because it's cheap, https://www.ebay.com/itm/285764636121They just refreshed the line so it's not available on Amazon or local ebay sellers yet but it should be $17 a bottle or so once stock trickles in.
>>18091411Start with the .05% dose, but yeah do that. Maybe start out with 2 tubes of .05% then you can decide if you want to move up or not.Since the current product you are using also has benzol peroxide i would either buy a 5% topical gel of that and apply it as well or even better just get some 20% azelaic acid from wherever you get the tazaret.Azelaic acid is good shit with bacteria and fungus fighting properties but it dries your skin out way less then BP. It does burn for like 5-10 minutes the first times you put it on but your skin will get used to it quickly. It also acts as an anti inflammatory so it helps make the topical retinoids a little less irritating.
>>18091496Get an extremely mild lightweight cleanser and moisturizer and try to make it work.Vanicream facial cleanser is a super mild clinical formula for people with sensitive skin. Then try something like the vanicream facial moisturizer or the aveno oat gel moisturizer. As far as the uneven skintone, the conservative approach would be 10% or 15% azelaic acid cream, its available over the counter in the US at least. You could also try something like thishttps://www.goodmolecules.com/products/discoloration-correcting-serum?variant=40398185693284The aggressive option would be ordering something like tri luma or a 4% hydroquinone cream from some Indian pharmacy website. Just make sure you read up and use it properly if you decide to go that route, and don't use multiple tubes of it, just one.
I was using Differin Gel for my retinol needs and then I switched to Tretinoin because my sister and my female coworker both told me it's stronger and better. But then I read some studies and it seems like the literature thinks that adapalene is just as effective as tretinoin but with less side effects. So did I really get memed by girl logic because they think more sides=stronger?
Another question: do I really need to use moisturizer? Are you sure? What does it actually do? My face glistens with oil after only a few hours out of the shower, my skin is so oily that you could scrape it off and bottle it. My skin has never been dry. Applying moisturizer just gives me acne and makes me look more oily and I think it's a scam.
>>18091750If i remember correctly the studies done concluded that there was similar results between 0.1% adapalene gel and 0.025% tretinoin gel. However tret gel is also available in 0.05% and 0.1% concentrations. So basically the standard (and usually only dose available) of adapalene is as effective as the lowest available dose or tret. This is for skin appearance (cosmetic) uses and not acne prevention.Im also not sure i would agree that adapalene has less prominent side effects but you millage may vary on that one.
>>18091754Good question, If you are genuinely that greasy you might not need to, i would try and read up on it a bit and see. I don't have much experience with that skin type. Obviously if using moisturizer is causing acne its not helping you any. It's possible you could get away with a super lightweight gel moisturizer instead of a heavier cream moisturizer. What if anything are you doing to try and reduce oil production?A salicylic acid toner or ~4% niacinamide serum might help get that under control.
>>18091584I don't get acne if I don't use cleansers so I just don't see any reason to start using one. I should probably find a moisturizer, but I'll get to that. I thought the tretinoin would even out my skintone but it doesn't seem to be doing much of anything. I'll probably start with the azelaic acid.
>>18091790>I'll probably start with the azelaic acid.Yeah try it out, i used it for about six months and noticed an improvement in reduced blemishes dark marks etc.If you find tret to harsh or its just not doing anything for you you can also just use the azelaic acid on its own. Other then the part where it stings for a few minutes when you but it on its much more tolerable and mild overall. I kinda liked the sting too but i might just be a weird, feels better then the burn from putting on tret.
>>18091560They also gave me benzo, what’s wrong with it?
thank you this is good info
>>18091818There is nothing wrong with benzoyl peroxide, its is very good at killing fungus and bacteria on your face that causes acne. It just also has a tendency to dry out your skin. And starting both benzoyl peroxide and a retinoid at the same time can be kind of uncomfortable for a few weeks. For some people retinoids on their own won't stop acne completely, and benzoyl peroxide can really help a ton.I just like to shill azelaic acid because it can also help control fungal/bacterial acne and might be more tolerable. But im not a doctor, it's best to ask your derm about it.
>>18091573Thanks. Do you think the following would be okay?Mon: EpiduoTue: EpiduoWed: EpiduoThu: EpiduoFri: No retinoidsSat: TazaroteneSun: No retinoids
>>18091888I would probably try to transition to using the Tazarotene over time. Maybe try what you suggested for a week or two but then i would try using the epiduo and Tazarotene on alternating days. Then consider switching entirely. It's pretty easy to just get a benzoyl peroxide cream if you feel like you still need it.Then if you tolerate the Tazarotene well try to step up to the higher dose.
>>18091777>What if anything are you doing to try and reduce oil productionChecked trips And nothing, I had no idea you even could do anything about it. I use salicylic acid for acne and the moisturizer I was using had niacinamide but I didn't notice anything to that effect really.
>>18091840Is benzoyl peroxide better to combo with tret than salicylic acid? Currently I use SA in the morning and Tret at night. It's been 25 days since I started doing all this and my face is way worse than before I started using anything. I'm wondering if I should just stop because I'm feeling like skincare is a huge scam.

AHA is great for exfoliating and will probably give you the clean smooth face feeling you are looking for from a peel of mask type product.

>>18095213Thanks I'll start by looking into the video and the picture. I guess I am kinda asking for advice on getting general products that can do no harm as I am kinda lost on what I need, but I know there are good and bad products out there. Meaning there seems to be alot of buzz about stuff that contains excessive chemicals that are not good for you.My skin is leathery, dry and full of small impurities and clogged pores so exfoliator might be something I need. You can also use preparation h hemorrhoid cream in the morning (it's made to shrink blood vessels) don't get the ointment it's like vaseline, just use a very small amount. For dark under eyes it's pretty tough, one thing you can do is use a 5-10% glycolic acid/aha serum on your face a few times a week, it's a mild acid that speeds up the removal of dead skin and can help even skin tone. You can also look into using retinol as a general anti aging / skin improvement addition. The first 3:30 of this video is good, he doesn't go into detail but he covers the most important stuff, then he starts babbling about why he doesn't use botox for the rest of the video, just ignore that.https://youtube.com/watch?v=4kyV7eTtgKE

I was on clindamycin phosphate lotion and epiduo forte for over a year, decided to come off it about 3 weeks ago because my skin was always incredibly greasy and felt uncomfortable all the time.My skin feels much better and isn't producing so much oil now, but I'm getting tons of bumps, CC's, blackheads on my forehead now.I got Paula's Choice 2% salicylic acid in the mail today. Should I do it twice a week to start?
>>18092075Not true. Obese pigs eat slop all day yet sometimes have perfect skin. Skin is 90% genetics
>>18098091>are you saying the skin is permanently damaged or that it could heal over time? You can absolutely take steps that will reduce your spots of hyperpigmentation. How much improvement you will see is partially down to genetics but i would expect with a few years of targeted skincare you could reduce it pretty significantly.>>18098198>clindamycin phosphate lotion and epiduo forteI would consider ditching the clindamycin and sticking with the epiduo. I really wouldn't expect the results from using epiduo to be that your skin is more greasy. Considering you probably have access to a dermatologist i would also consider switching to tretinoin, it might have a stronger drying effect then the epiduo does.As far as salicylic acid goes see how well your skin tolerates it, start with every 2-3 days and then increase if your face isn't getting irritated.

I've been using tretinoin for a month, with some noticeable results so far. I also want to do some microneedling to get rid of my acne scars and smooth out the skin on my cheeks. But most sources are saying you need to stop using tret for 7 days before microneedling because your skin would get too irritated. So should I wait the full 3 months after starting tret to give that time to fully activate, before I do the microneedling thing? Or should I intersperse the microneedling in starting right now? For reference I'm using 0.025% and it's light work, no reaction. Skin does not seem irritated at all. In fact I'm kind of thinking to ignore the advice, not stop using it, and microneedle now. Btw I'm a tattoo artist so I will be DIYing it.
>>18098208Obeasts eat garbage, and you are coping to copy the Obeasts. Pathetic.
>>18099391>Btw I'm a tattoo artist so I will be DIYing it.Normally my advice is to not diy micro needling because people buy those spike rollers and have no idea how to sterilize shit and keep it clean between uses and they generally don't deep enough to match the professional treatments. You might be in the unique position to not fuck it up if you properly research what depth you should be using, buy appropriate needle cartridges and don't fuck up doing it.Just please read up and try it on your inner thigh or some shit first to make sure you don't scar your face up.As far as the tret goes, Maybe stop 2 days before needling, and then start again when your face doesn't hurt afterwards

>>18100071This is what i have right now >>18097943Can this regiment be a good start?
I wear sunscreen, and use a facial wash, moisturizer and Tretinoin before bed. Should I be doing anything else
>>18100078people buy it for 30% aha content, not the 2% bha. so not really a replacement product for a 2% salicylic acid toner. you also wash off the ordinary serum after 10 minutes, paulas choice is a leave on product. lastly, the ordinary stings like a bitchbut other than that, the ordinary 30% is a great end game exfoliator>>18100120its good, you have the sunscreen, moisturizer and retinoid part covered. the vit c in cleanser will not be effective since you wash it off almost immediatelydont use retinol and tret together, either alternate them until you finish retinol or stick with tret alone. im pretty sure you already know this but writing this down just in case and for others.once you finish your daytime facial moisturizer look for something with spf50, like cerave AM or anything you will see recommended in these threads. an spf50 sunscreen in reality is something like 35 after applying on skin i think.if you want brightening benefits of vitamin c look for high concentration serum product that you leave on skin. one other product recommended here was timelesss vit c serum with 20% content which is basically a "skinceuticals formula" (vit E + ferulic acid) - it was clinically proven to work...but I would try tranexamic acid first. here is another video i was looking at researching this topic last year. she has good product recommendations beside the inkey list one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4gZmnjh8d4the doctorly guys had very good recommendations on this topic too (Faded is mentioned a lot i think).alternatively you could DYOR on alpha arbutin insteadpretty sure you could also benefit from glycolic acid exfoliator but lets make one step at a time>>18100122depends on your goals and skin issues. what you posted is great for anyone at any age. if you have no skin issues that these cant solve, i would leave it as is
>>18100172>a great end game exfoliatorwhat does the "end game" distinciton mean? I assume there's no skill requirements for skincare products so would it be good for a beginner>vitamin c look for high concentration serum productwould there be a way to make one yourself, like dissolving vit C in something and then putting it on your skin or is there more chemistry involved?
Is there a website/wiki/specific post I could read to learn the differences between all the types of different acids that's actually well written?
>>18100230>what does the "end game" distinciton mean? glycolic acid is the smallest from all AHAs on molecular level so it penetrates the most. a 30% concentration is just really strong and going beyond that might too much. there are stronger products but there are too many risks in comparison to benefits. i think you can get a stronger peel by a professional in a beauty saloon.>I assume there's no skill requirements for skincare productsfor first exfoliator i wouldnt recommend 30% AHA because your skin will burn as fuck and you will get discouraged. you also might want to know if your skin can tolerate it and for this, a lower concentration + patch test is advised first. its crucial to understand what your skin tolerates and at what concentration when it comes to chemical peels or other active ingredients>would it be good for a beginnernopenot sure what you are trying to do. if you can specify your skin issues/goals then we could advise - we are talking about AHA and BHA which are two quite different things>would there be a way to make one yourself, like dissolving vit C in something and then putting it on your skin or is there more chemistry involved?the ordinary makes powdered vit c you can dissolve yourself, for example, in a hyaluronic acid serum or your favourite cream. it does affect the product PH-wise, so a product will be more acidic. because of that, your product may change in terms of efficiency. also, vit c cannot be mixed with many other active ingredients so DYOR beforehand. lastly, many people do not recommend doing that due to measurement mistakes etc. someone was asking about this last thread if you want to look into archivesfound some recipe tho https://www.skinacea.com/diy/diy-recipes.html#VITC>>18100259its hard to find one source that covers all acids thoroughly. if there is one i will add it to the sticky. here is what i found for now https://www.skinacea.com/facials/peels/chemical.htmlbut its missing PHA and LHA for example

>>18102662Nah. In Japan and Korea they use newer filters which provide better UV protection than western chemical sunscreens and don't leave a white cast (unlike zinc oxide). Here is an article explaining it. Plus Asian sunscreens have a more hydrating/watery texture which is easier to layer and doesn't pill.>In the United States, zinc oxide is the only available sunscreen ingredient that provides full UVA and UVB protection but is often viscous and classically leaves a white cast. The Tinosorb family (Tinosorb A2B, Tinosorb M, and Tinosorb S) provide both physical and chemical protection against the entire range of UVA and UVB. These filters tend to be photostable and help stabilize less stable ingredients like avobenzone.>Tinosorb S offers one of the highest sun protective potencies of any sunscreen agent, is a chemical photoprotection with no white cast, and has a great safety profile. Other notable combined UVA/UVB sunscreen agents available outside of the US include Mexoryl XL, Uvasorb HEB, and amiloxate, all of which are chemical sunscreen agents.>https://projectlead.health/clinical-corner/u-s-vs-foreign-sunscreens-what-are-we-missing-out-on/

is it worth buying expensive moisturiser or should i just stick with cerave
Are you supposed to apply moisturizer to wet skin, or dry skin? I usually dry my face first, but someone said that it's better to put it on while your skin is wet with water to keep the moisture
Will using minox on my face to grow a beard ruin my face

>>18080800Here's the skincare routine my dermatologist provided for my very oily and acne prone skin (mainly the face).>Neutrogena+Garnier after a shower>Cetaphil for the body (Arms and Torso)dermatologist told me not to use moisturizers on my face due to already being naturally oily/sweaty>Isotretinoin 10mg (previously 20mg) after breakfast, once a day>Tretinoin 0.1% on my face and stretch marks after evening showerMy face has smoothed out and become way less oily since I started this routine one year ago, though there are still marks from old acne scars. My concern right now is my skin asthma and stretchmarks, I'm still experiencing constant reddening along my arms (not itchy) and the tretinoin cream isn't doing that much for the stretchmarks.Got any recommendations for dealing with this problem, or any way to improve my routine?
Recently I've basically stopped using shaving soap/gel/foam/whatever when using my safety razor. Started it because I was in a hurry so I thought fuck it and went in "raw", and it was perfectly fine so I just stopped bothering, except when I'm doing a pass against the grain
>>18104899I don't shave with anything other than water.
>>18104895Wadafukk u live n Ti-w0n or sum shiett?Hao u git Accutane for over a year non-stop w/o blood tests? Here in Freedumbland we just do a short course with monthly testing and that's it. No permanent Accutane ongoing forever
>>18104937I live in the Philippines and there's still blood test for the Isotretinoin, not as strict however, if the doctor think you're healthy enough then blood tests can be done every 4-6 months.
what the fuck do I do for shitty undereyes? I can't use tretinoin for them since it fucks them up so what now?
>>18080807>retinol products are gonna get cucked to 0,3% max after 1st November 2025 I thinkits going lower 0.3 is the current limit. Its pretty funny if you read their reasoning its retarded as hell but thats the EU for you.
