I dress smart-casual in my day to day but I would like to look like an unhip preppy-square with an edge. What do you think might work? I look like the guy in picrel, around 5ft10, dark brown hair, usually sport a beardI've thought of a couple of ways to achieve this:>TattoosThe most obvious one since it clashes with unadventurous clothing, though I don't like them unfortunately>haircut and/or facial hair that is a bit cookieHave a lot of options here>Clothing itselfSome clothing items like socks can give an edge to the whole attire
>>18093430beltbuckle, socks, necklace
>>18093430Just wear a female Star Trek uniform
>>18093430Short, uniform hair. Like a grown out buzzcut. That, or something overly groomed like a crew cut with white walls. Depending on your job incorporate some patterns or colors that are "alien" as in a geometric pattern, graphic, unusual fabric type (like corduroy), or a color like purple, green, pink etc. If you're a person who wears suits often you could wear something like a turtle neck sweater instead of an Oxford, some kind lace up boot. An extra ring could help, too.If you're someone who wears jeans and t shirts mostly, try wearing all one color like black or gray or blue. Something slick. Shoes should be practical but slightly out of place, such as a sandal, or a slip on shoe, or a steel toe boot or jump boot.Workout. Especially arms.I think I know what you're getting and if we're on the same page I think the trick is to wear otherwise normies attire with just a few elements that are tweaked to make it look like you have a cool background.
