Let me guess, you "need" more?
>>18095456yes. slightly more. i would break or lose those ones because i'm a retard & the folders fit my nose better.
>>18095458okay based can't really argue with this
i just want some persols, bros
>>18095456Yeah, I need higher quality and I don't like that type of acetate.
>>18095964What would you pick then?
>>18095968I'm a big fan of Matsuda. Extremely high quality. I own these M2040s but with black acetate. I'm posting this version to show you can get the brown acetate like the OP. They are just like a better version of Clubmasters.
>>18096038>clubmasters The onions choice
>>18096045Well yeah. They look okay, but they are both generic as fuck and low-quality because they are RayBan. That's why I suggested these instead.
>>18095456Oliver Peoples is all you need.
>>18096069>overpriced Luxottica brandthat being said, I really want a pair of their Gregory Peck frames
>>18095456No that’s exactly what I have. But mine are black.
>>18096078The blacks ones are just so boring to me Tortoise looks better
>>18095456Yeah, I have the meta raybans with built in video cameraPretty good
>>18095456the plastic is too thick and makes me sweat by the way it sits on my face
I stole like 25 sunglasses from different stores. My face is really ugly, and I'm too scared to try them on in front of pieces of shit. None of them look good, I kept them though because I finally have something interesting.
>>18096260Lose weight fatty

>>18095456MONEY HOES AND CLOTHES ALL A NIGGA KNOWS
>>18095813has anyone on here bought persol's folding model? i'm v interested but i keep hearing mixed things on their quality, and quality matters a lot more with folders.
>>18096058name a better folding sunglass than rayban other than maui jims (they don't work on my face)i consider all non folding sunglasses pointless now. but there's not many alternatives to ray ban.
>>18096457I think most brands are better than Ray Ban at this point
>>18096457I can't, but to be honest I didn't realize folding was so important to you and I'm not aware of other glasses that can do it. If you are willing to compromise on other areas just to have folding glasses, then maybe RayBan is the right choice.
>>18096939>>18096457Persol makes folding sunglasses
>>18096074They are undoubtedly the best Luxottica-owned counterpart and, in terms of quality, are highly comparable to Leight when choosing a Japan-made frame.
>>18097014What is a non-luxottica equivalent brand?
buy some real glassespic related
>>18096260Imagine being so fat you sweat from the exertion of wearing sunglasses
>>18095456I wear a pair of port tanger because they were super cheap during the sales season, I prefer their designs in comparison. to brands like jacques marie mage.I look like shit on a pair of wayfarer, tried once at the mall and never put a pair on my face. But. I get it buying a pair as a one and done
>>18097124Port Tanger are so ugly to me
>>18097128I have these, I think that they are discontinued. But mine. also have black lenses.I cannot complain, bought them for like 80 bucks during the sales, I cannot complain.
>>18095456they are heavy and leave a mark on the nose when wearing longer than 20 min
>>18097169All sunglasses do this
I'm thinking of getting those Carrera, I like the styles and color
>>18097108Do you people only know JMM? They make good shit but I swear I only started hearing about JMM a ton after the whole succession fashion style wave.
>>18098067Are Carrera any good? Where are they made?
>>18096455the tolerances on the hinges can vary greatly, from tightly clicking into place to loosely flapping around. Tightening the screws can help, though this problem comes from the factory, not from use. If you want a pair, i would recommend buying a pair in person, so you can check the quality is ok.t. Persol wearer for 1 year.
The more my wardrobe has expanded, the more I need more pairs to suit different outfits. Desperately trying to justify buying the Walker JMM sunglasses.I really like sunglasses, I'm not one for jewellery so it's the only accessory I can wear, except for a gold chain in the summer.
>>18095456for me it's knockoff Clubmasters
>>18098193Why not just get Clubbie clones from a better brand?
>>18098557Ray Ban was sold to Luxottica and it's been a race to the bottom ever since. Modern pairs made today are mostly made in China
>>18098067Most carrera models are fucking based as fuck. 70s retro aesthetic, great lenses, solid build. I own 3 different pairs
>>18098113What are other options for chunky, high quality, hand made glasses?
With all this talk of folding sunglasses, I'm curious, what is the benefit exactly? Do they come with a case that can fit in your pocket? Because if not, what are you doing with them when you take them off? If they're just going to sit out somewhere, then they don't need the folding capability. Forgive me if I'm missing something, I just genuinely don't understand the hype behind this feature.

What do you all think of clear frames? Fad or timeless?
>>18095456Nope. I have a pair of wayfarer sunglasses, and wear Oliver Peoples O’ Malley eyeglasses. Relatively cheap, look great, decently non autistic.
>>18095456Yes
>>18098153Slovenia, some in china
>>18098959Definitely not timeless
>>18095456I need something a little more high speed

Yep
>>18099048Really not more convenient than regular glasses. The space you save in length you lose in thickness. I do not see the point of them.
>>18096045i would say thats true for the prescription glasses but not for the sunglasses

>>18098677the classic ray bans are made in italy (clubmaster classic, wayfarer classic, round). people criticize rayban, but no one ever recommends another sunglass with glass lenses and acetate frames, and it's bc luxxotica makes money from volume like every other large business. they even have sales on their own website if you wait and know what you want. but if you think they're overpriced, go ahead and start your own sunglass company and do your own marketing and try to sell what ends up being $800 sunglasses. you can go into any city center and find a store that sells raybans in your size that will last for 10+ years. the only thing I dislike about rb is the logo on the front but it's not worth paying 4x for other brands without the logo
>>18101704Ray Bans don't have glass frames, and "made in Italy" is not the flex you think it is. Just because some Jeet in Italy made something doesn't mean it quality

>>18104086I can't really find a pair that suits me like OP so I might go for them. What models do you have? I've heard they vary in quality depending on the country they were manufactured in (Italy, Japan, etc)
>>18105201There are only three countries in the world that produce acetate, Japan, Italy and ChinaThe ranking for quality of eyewear goes in that order as well. Japanese acetate is considered the highest quality and Japanese craftsmanship is considered the best. Italian acetate is considered good, with Mazzucchelli 1849 produced acetate to be the best quality Italian acetate out there Then there's Chinese acetate which is considered the inferior option Knowing that all brands get their acetate from those countries, it then comes down to the individuals working in the factories in a specific country putting them together. In the USA it's probably Mexicans, in Italy it's Chinese workers, in Japan it's old Japanese people in their 80s
>>18105271Good to know, thanks. After searching around it looks like Oliver People's still have a lot of individuality outside of Luxottica but the ones made in Japan seem to be vastly higher quality than anything else in their collection in terms of build quality.Buying online it turns out to be cheaper than a lot of individual brands as well surprisingly. They don't seem to be any more expensive than any other brand from where I am in the UK.
Do they make make me look like a douchebag? YesDo I care? NoAre they overpriced? Yes Do I care? No. The Prizm polarized lenses are worth it to me
Ray Bans brown lenses are whack. I love acetate tortoise shell so I got some brown clubmasters and the color of the lenses makes me sick. My brown Maui Jims are in a completely different league. Even the G13 Ray Ban lenses are way, way better than their brown lens.
Anyone tried Ray Bans Chromance lens? I only like Ray Ban styles, but I actually need good lenses like Maui Jims.
>>18105587Can't you pretty much take any frames to an optometrist and have them cut lenses for you? I'm thinking of doing that, especially since optometrists typically have lots of options for their lenses
>>18095458Best sunglasses I've ever owned
>>18105610Idk, but that sounds more expensive than would be worth it for Ray Bans, unless you have a prescription.
>>18105610yesalso pro gamer tip if you (or parents if zoomer) have optical insurance that covers glasses and if you don't need vision glasses you can get free sunglasses once per year on most plans for the cost of your copay as long as you get an eye exam and have puck lenses cut + installed. you get to keep the original lenses too and they'll swap them in usually as long as you go in on a different day. just call your insurance and ask. im a burger might not work elsewhere. they let you out of pocket the difference if you want really expensive shit above your plan's limit too.
>>18105587i don't like their lenses either. i had puck lenses put into my folding wayfarers. the stuff my optometrist does gives way better visual clarity (i forget to take them off when the sun sets sometimes) but blocks enough light that i can comfortable stare into a rising/setting sun on road trips. they've been reasonable to get done when my insurance hasn't covered it, even if they costed more it'd be a no brainer turns any decent frames into S tier sunglasses.i won't wear glass lenses because if i did i would have lost my eye a few times already but thats a personal problem.
I remember Gargoyles glasses being the shit back in the 80s, after the U.S. military adopted them (in clear) and especially after Arnold wore them in The Terminator.
