i don’t know about george, but i find it very funny that kramer’s whole “cologne that smells like the beach” thing is basically just taking the piss out of aquatics. and there’s something funny about him pitching it to a brand that never ended up making an aquatic either.

Yeah, when you read about the inspiration behind the fragrance things start getting interesting.
Its just I think that when it comes to utility designer frags are usually the way to go.
That is also why i am asking about pdm, as to me they seem more the creed type of niche rather than the artsy type like eldo and imaginary authors.
Never smelled any of them though so im curious because im looking for something that I can actually wear on a semi daily basis

That's the spirit, I totally agree with you
Dior has a market cap of $128.98 Billion.
Creed was acquired by Kering for €3.5 billion.
Versace currently valued at $1.7 billion
Dolce & Gabbana at currently $5.3 billion
Giorgio Armani net worth of $9.6 billion,
Tom ford 2.8 billion
Prada 4.8 billion
Paco rabbane 28 million poor babies

I have 3 thousand, no home, no car. Thank god I have parents.

all those other brands (excluding creed which is an outlier) have huge luxury fashion businesses. half of them outsource their perfume and cosmetics operations to loreal, estee lauder, etc. paco rabanne at this point is purely a perfume house and it reflects their ownership (puig). of course they’re not going to have as high of a market cap.

>Dior Jules 2016
Reminds me of Kouros in the beginning, but overall less powdery and doesn't have the civet tinge that vintage Kouros has. Kouros goes more in a musky, slightly powdery direction, and Jules moves more into greens. I think Jules is easier to wear (at least compared to vintage Kouros), but still has that classic 80s powerhouse smell minus the animalics.
>Lomani El Paso
I enjoy Lomani PH, so I couldn't resist getting this. Citrus and lavender blast accompanied by some spice and nutmeg with some light woods in the back. A familiar everyday fresh smell. People compare this to Platinum Egoiste, but it lacks the squeaky clean almost metallic sheen that PE has. Atomizer kinda sucks, but it's a fun wear.
>>
>>18166152

>>
looks like Zoologist has restocked samples as they said, outside of a few (Chamelon, Dragonfly). Doubt I'll find anything bottle worthy but my interest has been peaked by marketing. Thinking.. T Rex, Harvest Mouse, Squid, Penguin, Macaque Yuzu, Koala .. any suggestions to finish an 8 pack? Sloth, Elephant, Cow.. all the Green's sort of seem similar. Scarab could be interesting. I've already sampled Civet - it was lovely.
>>
>>18165790
>>18165825
Not sure if you were looking at them due to my post in the last thread regarding good discovery sets, but like I mentioned, ELDO gets a lot more experimental with their frags. Naturally this results in some really interesting frags, but also a lot of flops.

The ones you named are definitely very wearable, but Ghost in the Shell is also VERY wearable and great, Filipino Houseboy is wearable albeit a bit light/weak but it’s a hot weather frag anyway. (Side note, I never realized rice had a smell until I recognized it totally unprompted in Filipino Houseboy.) Fat Electrician is pretty unique and situationally wearable, 500 Years and Soul of my Soul are slight variations of Spice Must Flow which is fantastic btw. Hermann is a bit different but wearable, imo. I Am Trash and to a lesser extent Exit the King are also very popular if you like fruity/floral.

Then you have the stuff that’s just a little weird but usually interesting, not full bottle worthy, but worth experiencing. Fin du Monde, Jasmin et Cigarette, Attaquar Soleil… etc.

Dot not get shit from PdM or Creed though. The ones that aren’t total trash are still wildly overpriced for what they are.

>>18166002
As if it wasn't already blatantly obvious that she’s JUST a shill and not actually any kind of fragrance reviewer, she just hops on the band wagon of the latest trend just to try and drudge up any attention she can get, even if it’s completely unrelated.

That’s the kind of shit that reminds me of when cryptocurrency was first starting to make it into the public eye and everyone would just slap the words “block chain” at the end of their product to try and get sales.

>>18166026
TdH is traditionally an adult/mature fragrance, not for attracting girls, but neither is BdC. BdC is just a generic, safe all around frag.

>>18166189
Yeah, apparently Fragrantica was started by a… Russian(?) woman, and thus carries some of their ideologies if you’re looking for them.
>>
Who are your favourite fragtubers?
For me:
1. Mr. Smelly: great taste and funny British jokes.
2. Just Boz: interesting to hear some opinions from the absolute fringes of society. Sometimes you can hear an old woman cough during his reviews, I assume it's his mom.
3 Cubaknow: He's a funny whigger
4. The Scented: She's some wop from Canada, I'd put it in her mouth
5. Greta Bath: Botox milf from the US, same reason as above

If Harvest Mouse interests you I would recommend Rabbit as well. The other 5 you mentioned are also pretty good/interesting (I full bottled Penguin), but I found Fuji Apple better than the Yuzu.

Cow is also pretty unique, Sloth was good but Elephant didn’t wow me. If you’ve ever smelled ELDO’s Spice Must Flow then Camel is very similar. If you liked Civet I would recommend Beaver, perhaps Musk Deer.

Personally I -hated- it, but Bee is unique in that it has this very weird, synthetically sweet note which after you recognize it you see they use in quite a few of their frags, (Chameleon, Nightingale, Hummingbird, Moth) Bee takes the note up to 11 though, where the others are like a 5-6.

They’re all very open to interpretation, but I would avoid Cockatiel (the worst), both Dodos, Hyrax, Rhino, Bat, Tiger, and Snowy Owl. They’re bad for different reasons, but they were all pretty terrible.

If you really only have two spots and like Civet I’d suggest picking between Musk Deer and Beaver, then… probably Cow… but frankly I think there are several more with trying.

My only problem with Gay Dragon is how he sometimes goes on such a long tirades about fragrbros or expensive brands that it kind of overshadows the actual review. And I fucking hate fragbros and find houses like Initio funny in their made-up luxury image, sure, but every time he goes on a rant like that, I feel like I’ve seen it a dozen times already. Preaching to the choir etc.
>>
>>18166556
yeah it's true he gets ranty sometimes. on the other hand, the youtube perfume scene is so dominated by luxury scams, paid shilling and fragbros that I get his need to vent
