It's unbelieavable to me that people can bench 300 lbs and you all here treat it like it's the expected. The most weight I have ever seen people benching at my gym was like 180 lbs. And those were the strongest/biggest guys there doing it. I wonder if this has to do with height, since I'm brazilian and most guys here are rather short compared to the US.
>>
>>77429939
don't give yourself strength/body dysmorphia because some rando who has never posted body or lifts says you're weak.
what you noticed is the truth. i'm the strongest person i know, hell i'm probably the strongest person in my town of 50000+ people. still if i posted lifts here i'd get some snide comment about being weak, fat, skinny, my height, face or hairline. just means they're jealous they'll never have what you worked so hard to achieve. fuck them man
>>
>>77429939
Everybody on 4chan is tall, has a big dick, and make $200k working from home doing programming
>>
>>77430021
literally me
>>
>>77429939
I'm benching 210 for 5 reps, very close to the 225 benchmark, and I've been at it for 6 months going hard though I've given myself tendonitis in multiple places so this level of progress probably isn't ideal. But it's not unreasonable to me to think that there are natty veterans doing 315 after 5 years.

Though 315 is not the average, it is a huge number unattainable to most people, and from everything I hear from normal people (not /fit/) 225 in 6 months is also really impressive. I strongly suspect most of the people you hear these numbers from are either on roids, or just plain old bullshitting and claiming to lift more than they actually can.
>>
>>77429939
Do you think people would do that? Go on the internet and tell lies?
>>
>>77430059
>>77430014
The thing is 4chan is not the only place that I hear this. Benching 300 lbs really doesn't seem to be that uncommon.
>>
>>77430021
My dick is average, but my salary is $245k. Just because you have a job that isn't worth having doesn't mean everyone else does, too.
>>
>>77429939
america is full of roided up bloatlords who played american football in school. it's a different world strength wise.
>>
>>77429939
Whenever someone posts on here about themselves, assume they're lying. Anyone claiming they hit 315 in less than 5 years is lying or a fat ass
>>
>>77430071
It's incredibly uncommon
>>
>>77429939
1234 puts you in the top 0.05% of humanity, if not more.

>It's unbelieavable to me that people can bench 300 lbs and you all here treat it like it's the expected.
I bench 4 plates and I consider 225 the regular for most standard people that have been lifting longer than a year.
If you can't hit that milestone within 12 months, you're probably not eating enough, or you're not programming correctly.
>people benching at my gym was like 180 lbs
I'm guessing you go to like...planet fitness.
> I'm brazilian
Ah, third world might have something to do with it.
>>77430014

post stats
>>77430042
>doing 315 after 5 years.
That was about my timeline, and took another 7 to hit 4 plates.
>>77430103
Nah. That's been my experience and just about everyone I know that did 5/3/1 or madcow.

>yes (and white(

I passed 3/4/5 while lean and was never the strongest person in my town
Sounds like you just like jacking yourself off about your mediocrity
>>

>Nah. That's been my experience and just about everyone I know that did 5/3/1 or madcow.

Yeah that's why I made exceptions for you fat asses
>>
>>77430159
I hit 315 at 170 lbs, and 405 at 210. Keep copin, string bean LMAO
>>
>>77430170
Yeah this is what I was talking about. Just a bunch of bullshit. Post any video of you hitting a bench that is competitive enough to be a record at your weight outside of the elite of the elite

ok LMFAO
>>
>>77429939
Americans are much fatter than brazilians so they can safely bounce the bar on their stomachs. They can't bench 315 without bouncing and being obese. And as the other anon said, they also use steroids because of social media and weak strength of character
>>
>>77430188
You're the exception in the vast number of lifters, you're also not 210 lbs there. If a 210 lbs lifter benched 405 at my powerlifting gym it would be a big deal. If one benched 405 at a meet it would be a big deal. But you're probably hovering around 230 lbs give or take
>>
>>77430188
>bald manlet powershart wannabe posts video
It's a good lift, but nobody here would choose to look like that. And that's precisely why that strength level is rare: the aesthetic sacrifice to get there is too much for most.
>>
>>77430198
I quite literally was 209 lbs there, and that was the heaviest I've ever been. My legs are smaller than you think they are, because I hadn't done any work on them for about 4 months due to a grade 2 quad tear I had from squatting just under 5 plates.
Bench is what I'm good at, and to an extension OHP, but I'm here to tell you that maybe, just maybe, people aren't bullshitting when they say 225 is an easy to hit standard. You have to remember that when the MISC closed, most of us migrated here.
I'm not even the proportionally strongest guy by far at my gym (it's a gay influencer gym now unfortunately).
>>
>>77430212
>bald manlet powershart wannabe posts video
Powerlifting is kinda gay. I just lift for fun.
>>
>>77430213
That would check out if you have no legs. I'm not saying 225 isn't a good standard for a lifter. I'm saying 315 is NORMALLY a very difficult bench to progress to in 5 years or less while avoiding injuries or being fat. There are always going to be exceptions like you or that jungle Asian who's a twink but puts up 3 to 400 lbs bench press. You are both exceptions to the general rule, kinda like someone mentioning how everyone on 4chan miraculously has a 7+ inch dick and 6 figure salary. I'm sure there are a few out there, but 9/10 posts are lying

>405 bench Press
>torn to shreds on a 495 squat
>lost a bunch of muscle mass after 4 months of skipping leg day
Ok, that's the info we needed. You're skimping on your lower body even when you're healthy. You're top heavy even when you're not hurt, and if you were proportional you'd be 250lbs.

Not trying to shit on your bench press there. That was fantastic. But you're a leglet and your bodyweight is to be taken with that grain of salt.
>>
>>77430229
>lost a bunch of muscle mass after 4 months of skipping leg day
Eh, I wouldn't say a /bunch/ of muscle mass, took me about 2 months of consistent squatting afterwards to get over 400 again.
>skimping on lower body
if you call 495 skimping on lower body then...uh...ok. idk what to tell you.
>torn to shreds
it was more of a dehydration thing in my case. california heat and only had 2 cups of coffee that day due to an extended workshift, but injuries can happen to anyone. One of my spotters tore his pec a few months back while warming up with 225 (he maxes out around 375).
Sometimes you just draw the short straw breh.

i go to an la fitness in a decently-sized city.

the vast majority of lifters here are benching 185 or below. most are dyel or are just starting and are very lean or short, so 150-185 is a bw lift for them. a few regulars like myself are in the mid 200s. on very, very rare occasion, someone will come in and bench 315. never seen anyone bench more than that here.

i hit 265 this week and that was the most ive seen anyone lift here in months. my max 6 months ago was about 225...i made this progress by switching to very strict pause reps instead of just heaving and bouncing the weight as fast as i could, and training chest twice a week instead of once. i still feel weak and tiny but i guess thats the dysmorphia talking since im lifting more than 99% of the people at my gym

>>77430188
very impressive lift. id be scared to even unrack that, ha
>>
>>77430248
Your squat should be 1.3x ~ 1.5x of your bench in order to be in proportion.
>>
>>77430014
Post body Weak faggot
>>
>>77430276
Yeah, I get that. Genetics, leverages, even how you perform the lift affect your numbers. Another buddy of mine for example clears 630+ easy on squat for reps, and yet struggles to even touch 275 for 1 rep. He doesn't skip his upper body ever, it's just genetics at this point. Pobody's nerfect.
>>
>>77429939
I never even got to 220 for reps but running Smolov Jr I got to 200 at 160lbs bw. I got hardstuck there because I'm frail, my technique wasn't good and I wasn't willing to bulk more, but it wasn't a crazy feat. People don't bench a lot of weight in public, because it's not convenient. They may need a spotter and there's a higher risk of fucking up than just simply using a machine. I think 300 is definitely out of the ordinary. Of the people that _think_ they can bench 220 most also can't do it.
>>
>>77429939
Well, the average UFC champion can do around 18-25 pull ups. That is LESS than the /fit/ e-stat average.

You do the math. Don't take the people on here seriously, they are all Americans, ie. uneducated and retarded.
>>
>>77430126
>I bench 4 plates and I consider 225 the regular for most standard people that have been lifting longer than a year.
lmao
>>
>>77430318
nobody needs a spotter for any lift
>>
>>77430318
>Smolov Jr
Smolovs is a total joke if you're not enhanced.
>>
>>77430342
>225 is literally the standard for sophomore football
grim getting strength mogged by preteens
>>
>>77430366
and thats just for the chance of 2nd string JV
>>
>be me
>peak incline bench was 365lb
>spent the last year working out sporadically and cheating on my diet
>now struggling to get 275 for reps
>legit feel shame if I can't get the 5th rep
>meanwhile noone else (other than a jacked black dude) is hitting more than 185 incline
I think this would technically count as body dysphoria, but imo it's motivation to keep pushing and getting stronger
