Why exactly isn't this illegal?

Just like porn

Can be used as energy rather than altering chemical levels alone

Anti-suger is such a meme bro. Every carb you eat is just sugar in your body
>b-but glicemic index!
That only matters if you're low muscle mass putting you at danger for diabetus but that's about it. Sugar is not particularly fattening, eating too much is, which usually involves a big combo of carbs + fat, and this combo is way more addicting than just sugar

I am trying to quit it for a long time now, it's so insanely difficult, I have heard many alcoholics say they had an easier time quitting alcohol, same for smokers who quit smoking

all living creatures on this planet depend on carbohydrates which are matabolized by large classes of eukaryotic organisms, e.g. plants. The availability of dense sources of carbs like grains allows humans to flourish and supports many people in their daily lives.

Gluconeogenesis. Your liver uses amino acids and glyceorl in the meat to build glucose inside your body. Also, if you eat dairy - all dairy other than well-aged hard cheeses have sugars in it. The most well-known one is lactose and it's a disaccharide that requires the lactase enzyme to be broken down during digestion.

kek, at your own peril; mice have metabolic pathways remarkably similar to humans compared to say... proteomic networks that are pathologic for Alzheimer's and cancers.

Yeah, this is totally similar enough to extrapolate gut microbiome changes from feeding and removing a completely unnatural food from a mouse's diet to humans

FWIW I have an n=1 unblinded clinical trial of a fren who tried going almost full sugar-free and ended up gaining fat, same on keto, switched to moderate carb moderate sugar and lost fat.

for me (n=2), 100% cutting out simple carbs (cookies, desserts, that sort of shit) completely made losing weight easy. If I stopped eating simple carbs, I was fine, didn't crave shit after like a week. If I ate even 1 cookie, I would be craving it on and off for like a week, so any sort of "1 day a week, you can eat desserts/snacks/whatever" was a constant battle of wanting sweets. Cut it out completely, I never craved it.
It also depends on what your friend ate instead. Cutting out sugar means nothing if you are eating hamburger helper and pizza every night.
>>
is sugar okay if you are running a marathon or doing a century bike ride?

>100% cutting out simple carbs...completely made losing weight easy
>If I ate even 1 cookie, I would be craving it on and off for like a week

seconding this.

One day I decided I am very strictly cutting all refined sugars and artificial sweetener, because I saw a documentary called that sugar film, and decided to try it for shits and giggles. still ate as much fruit as I wanted and some simple carbs on occasion like snack sized pack of cheezits, etc, as long as no refined sugar was listed in the ingredients or it's not "lite" bs. I didn't notice much weight loss until 3 weeks. Then it was like someone flipped a switch and I was loosing easily atleast 1/2 lb every day. Every day my car seatbelt was bigger than the last day. My friends were making fun that I was doing drugs to lose weight so fast.

ngl that shit is like drugs and probly should have more regulation. I like how Mexico does it in picrel. By the 3rd or 4th day of quitting I really think I got a taste of how a meth addict feels when they can't get a hit. I had severe cravings and happened to see an orange juice dispenser. I had an overwhelming feeling that I __NEED__ this orange juice or something bad will happen. It was like something was overriding control and I started pouring a glass. Thankfully I realized if this were meth or something my behavior would be unacceptable, then dumped it. The cravings became much less intense by about a day or two later.

By about the 6th week I had significantly better memory recall, focus, and mental clarity. There were problems at work that I'd take a 2nd look at and I thought to myself "how tf was I not able to solve this before" and just...fixed the problems like nothing. Felt like a rock star. My blood pressure went from border lining medical emergency to textbook perfect. I slept better. I don't know how to explain it but I felt "at peace" mentally. Then one day I ate a cookie and been eating junk ever since
>>
Can't you retarded amerimutts just do things in moderation?
Maybe don't eat and drink goyslop, have a balanced diet made of real foods (yes golem, you have to clean them and cook them) and then have some cake or whatever once in a while? Or even everyday, just count the fucking portions/intake whatever you want to call it.

Sugar in first 1,000 days linked to poor health later
Cutting sugar in the first 1,000 days of a baby's life - from conception to the age of two - appears to reduce the risk of developing significant health issues in adult life, say researchers.

It's not the sugar that's the problem. Its the mad scientists that are modifying food to be addictive.
>>
>>77446117
I vividly remember being fed Pepsi as a baby. If I didn't love the person who gave it to me. I'd be furious. But you can't fault your loving grandmother.

ok good. i normally try and avoid anything with added sugar or whatever, but i did my first two century rides this month and i wasn’t really prepared/expecting how much you need to eat. the first one i had a bunch of frozen pineapple and grapes but by the time i was doing the next one a few days later i was literally funneling sugar (and salt) into a water bottle haha
>>
No clue what you're talking about, I cut all sugar from my diet a few weeks ago and I have not gotten any type of withdrawal and I was consuming pretty big amounts too before. Maybe you're just someone who drinks söylents.

Some people get withdrawals because their stomach bacteria have become so accustomed to sugar that your gut flora literally evolves to fit your diet. That same gut flora can send signals to the brain to make sugar addicts crave sugar.

>>
>>77446507
its something to do with nerves too. theres a boat load of nerves or some shit in the gut and it apparently can tell the difference in artificial sweetener and actual sugar. i wish i could remember it better or find the video i learned about
>>
>>77446404
unless youre reading ingredients lists like a nazi jew hunter, you are still getting more sugar than you realize.

Why haven't you tried going sugarfree again dude? I've quit it for a few weeks now and feel amazing, I never ever want to touch any of it again, hell when I see my family members eat it or talk about it I feel disgusted, I truly see it as a drug. It's ruined my life and ever since I quit it I have also quit binge eating
>>
>>77447248
yes whats your point? if your diet was mostly things without nutrition facts or ingredients lists then you never were really eating enough sugar to get withdrawals in the 1st place

I truly believe that quitting this will get rid of all the problems we have regarding our diets. But once you quit it it's also so easy to fall back into it, it'll be a struggle every day even when you're past the cravings.
