I went to a plasma donation center to try and make some extra cash by donating. I sat for two hours because they’re understaffed and it’s the only donation center near me and I live in a highly populated city. When the employee tested my blood, she said the protein level in my blood was way too high to donate. She then asked if I ate protein bars or protein shakes, which I don’t, but it made me assume it was diet related and not health related. For context I’m a 5’10”, 200 lb, 23 year old male. I’m not a typically a gym goer except for occasionally, but my day job is a tile setter. Every day my job is moderately-extremely physically demanding. For most of the week my daily diet is:-75-95% of a whole rotisserie chicken. The protein content compared to the calorie amount and price is convenient for me.-Around 3 cups of broccoli-A whole plain baked potato- 14 tablespoons of extremely low sodium and low calorie, organic salsa- a banana- 1 multivitamin and 1 capsule of fish oil-Not common but yesterday I added 250 calories of cheese and a 200 calorie roll of bread because I thought I needed the extra calories after a tiring day of work. The rule for protein is about a gram per body weight, right? Or did I misunderstand something? No way that even the full chicken gives that much, and maybe an added 20 random grams of protein from the rest of my diet.I don’t supplement any protein ever, and when I cheat on my diet it’s usually just trash like pastries or something unhealthy with low protein content. I looked up the causes of high protein levels in blood and one of them was dehydration, which I considered MAYBE, but I drink 50-100% of a gallon of water daily and when I urinate, it’s usually pale yellow/clear. It also listed some other random health conditions that I don’t suffer from. I’m at a loss? Does the chicken really give too much protein? Does anyone have any knowledge or experience in this sort of thing?
You are probably just dehydrated
>>774566351.5-2g per kg of target body weight is the recommendation to gain muscle. How much protein is present in the chicken you eat, depends on the weight of what you eat. But, on average, 3-4lbs of chicken will have 130-160g of protein. That shouldn't be too much protein. You were most likely dehydrated. With a job as demanding as you claim, for your listed weight, a gallon of water is not enough. 3 liters is the minimum you should be drinking just for your weight. Any extra activity increases that number substantially. The color of your urine is not a good indicator of hydration level.
>>77456635The color of your urine is just a rule of thumb, and it has more to do with how well your body is flushing waste. It is not an accurate representation of total body hydration.
>>77456662>>77456663Ok acknowledged, I will increase my daily water intake. Thanks for the insight
>>77456635You eat literal dogshit, she also refrained from telling you all the deficiencies you have since they dont get paid to do that
>>77456686Chicken, broccoli, potatoes, annd bananas are dogshit? Interesting opinion to have
>>77456635Just to be safe you might want to do a follow up test if all they told you was high protein. Something like a SPEP test. It could easily just be dehydration but it's not bad to follow up
>>77456693Yes. You're defficient in at least 10 different nutrients and multis wont save you either. Thankfully though to a DYEL like you all that matters is muuuh broootein and muh calories (measuring a bread stick in calories lmao how fat can you be) just keep it this way anon im cheering on your renal failure
>>77456693Read this >>77456635 and become enlightened
>>77456716Sure I’ll agree that my diet is most likely lacking in some areas I likely have deficiencies. I’ll probably go for a checkup just to be sure like the other anon suggested, But it’s not dogshit and obviously sufficient enough to sustain the physically demanding lifestyle I lead. It keeps me strong and in decent enough shape to carry 50-80 pound boxes of tile and 40-50 pound buckets of mortar up 2 flights of stairs dozens of times a day in 90 degree heat WITHOUT being completely physically exhausted by the end of the day. I don’t care enough to argue with some bitter dumbass on 4chan who uses terms like DYEL, muhhh, and brotein, and somehow thinks calorie count isn’t important even in something as simple as bread. You’re hostile and cheering for my decline in health for no reason other than being an edgy bucket crab. I’m sorry you are the way that you are.
>>77456763>it’s not dogshit and obviously sufficientNope it's not, you're just barely surviving with the energy it gives you to be a slave but not much for your other bodily functions that arent moving from point a to b It's in no way healthy or nutritious, you're malnourished
>>77456763care enough to cry online
>>77456635>I’m not a typically a gym goercap
>>77456716>>77456686As obnoxious as that faggot is, cause none of that stuff is inherently bad, he has a slight point. Here is a not so fun fact about multivitamins, they're designed to pretty much barely prevent deficiencies and they don't do a really good job. >Why?A combination of factors. For starters, all the vitamins are in safe dosages. Everything you see on the label marked 100%, those are the vitamins and minerals that have extremely high upper intake tolerance levels, still, 100% RDA ≠ optimal intake, and physical activity can substantially increase the need for most vitamins & minerals. For all the other vitamins not listed at 100%, they usually have some risk of causing an issue if "overdosed" which is still very unlikely, but the supplement companies still want a very wide margin of safety so as to greatly reduce the likelihood of losing a lawsuit. Which means all those trace vitamins and minerals, you're most likely still deficient in if you don't have a varied diet.
>>77456773>It's in no way healthy or nutritiousNta but hyperbole is a sure sign you're a huge retarded faggot. There's nothing wrong with what he's eating, but he could use more variety.
>>77456790I already knew there’s some truth in what he’s saying. But hes just trying to make it sound like I’m a severely malnourished, barely surviving slave about to keel over and die from kidney failure next week, which Is just insane to me. I cant wrap my head around it. I also don’t consume the multivatims OTC in a typical grocery store or pharmacy, I order it from a place that’s already accounted for all of their severe limitations. Most of the micronutrients, vitamins and minerals listed are hundreds or even thousands over the daily 100% limit. While I know my average diet is limited in variety I do go outside of bounds every 2 weeks or so and eat things like avocado, steak, protein yogurt, salmon and berries to name a few when I get tired of the routine. I just mostly keep it strict to chicken and broccoli and potatoes because it’s easier to track and I’m not a picky eater. Thank you for replying also>>77456774What part of that post was crying?
>>77456790Fish oil is also not only rancid most of the time but doesn't tackle the omega 6 to 3 ratio issue either since they're underdosed>>77456795I'm not being hyperbolic. He's objectively deficient in many micronutrients and slightly deficient in fat.No D3, B vitamins, little minerals from the broccoli and potatoes that gets cancelled anyways by the phytates and other antinutrients, little to no vitamin C, no heme iron no zinc, 0 vitamin A.But sure bro CICO is all that matters, to be healthy you need to calculate the thermogenic load of every breadcrumb
